Just FYI, they don't have toddler glasses and will gladly let a toddler try on their glasses and sell you glasses that are too big without warning you they're too big for toddlers. I as a first time parent of a kid with glasses had no idea what to be looking for and my son of course has no idea what it's supposed to feel like. They looked big but we had no idea. Now we do our research because it doesn't seem right and the glasses are for 10 year olds. These people should not have sold us these glasses, they essentially scammed us. Based on my annual visits to Alamitos Eye Care, I would highly recommend Avani Patel do an exam of your eyes if you are over 60 years old. Dr. Patel is very skilled at visual risk management, which is defined as identifying an issue and providing treatment options/referrals before it becomes serious. For me, she identified the start of cataracts and implemented treatment protocol before I knew the issue existed and complex eye surgery would have be required. Dr. Patel makes complex digital images of each eye and uses a new enhanced software tool to analyze in real time the digital images of the eye and identify developing issues such as glaucoma or cataracts before they become apparent to the patient. Early detection saves the patient complex eye surgery and recovery time as well as the associated higher expense. I am an engineer by training and identifying risk items begore they become serious issues is important to me. read more

My wife and I were referred to Dr. Patel by a friend a few years ago. We've been going yearly ever since. Dr. Patel and her staff are the friendliest, kindest and most diligent folks we have ever dealt with. Dr. Patel listens, is the most thorough doctor ever and checks every single potential issue, leaving nothing to chance. She explains everything and ensures our eyes are 100% getting the care they need. Recently, I had an issue with my left eye, Dr. Patel got me in that same day, seeing how frightened I was. She checked everything, going above and beyond and made sure it was nothing to be concerned about. She followed up the next day, calling personally and continued to throughout the issue. She and her staff, (along with her husband and Winston & KC) are amazing and will make sure you're very well taken care of. Courtney is young, unhinged, extremely rude, and acting on behalf of Dr Patel, is a horrible example of someone who represents any office. Cortney has lied about insurance payments / coverage to keep from doing her job, refused to allow patients to speak to the doctor and refused to forward messages to Dr Patel. I came to this location after being taken advantage of from my prior optometrist in Cerritos. I did a little research and took a shot expecting to be disappointed. Five years later I'm still a happy patient. As well, my family now comes here too. The office is inviting, clean, organized and has a great display of eyewear for every age and style you're into. I've worked with Dr Patel each time. Her enthusiasm and knowledge speaks volumes when I have a question or concern with my eyes. She provides eye care recommendations that don't always require a prescription which is something I'm really keen to. I use to suffer from chronic migraines and in my opinion she goes the extra mile to ensure my eyes are healthy during the exam. Again, offers suggestions that have helped a great deal over the years and have reduced these headaches that use to run my life. She clearly hires the right people to work for her. They too are amazingly helpful. They have a good grasp on helping me find the right eyewear to fit my gorilla-like head. Prices are more than fair. I have never left there feeling as if I got ripped off or treated unfairly. If your looking for the "gotcha" moment here you won't find it. Walked in and immediately felt like I had been going there for years - office staff was very friendly and as soon as Winston the office dog came by to greet me, I knew I was in the right place! I went in on December 16th, mu son and I both ordered glasses, it was taking so long we had to leave to go get the other children. They said they would call to collect the payment, I got a call by Lupe and called back and left 2 messages, and never got a call back. Today is Jan 6th and I call and spoke with Lupe who stated the glasses aren't made and we have to come get measured and pay the deposit. No communication has been made and Lupe informed me to just cancel my order and take our prescription elsewhere! What kind of service is this? read more

This review is based on my personal experience. This office has violated ethics and been very unprofessional to get involved with Family Law matters. The optometrist Mrs. Patel wrote a letter on company letterhead to bash me as a father, that I didn't support my 2 daughters vision needs and that I refused to pay my portion. What she failed to mention in her letter was that my Vision Provider paid out the claim of $665 per child which included all necessary recommendations of blue screen protection and glare protection and the charges this office made was over the allowed covered amount of $665. This to me is a clear sign that there are inaccurate billing methods and/or abuse of billing. How could $665 per child not be sufficient to cover a child's vision needs? After I went to her office to speak with her about this concern and of the letter she wrote, Mrs. Patel and her business partner asked me to leave and that they didn't care if I wrote a complaint to the Board of Optometry because they have had it done to them before by other patients with no consequence. That is very concerning because they clearly don't have a good business practice and business ethic. Because of this, I have submitted a complaint to the Board of Optometry about their stance and involvement in Personal Family affairs. It's Very unprofessional, unethical, and dishonest in what their sharing in their signed statement to the opposing party. I am also having my insurance carrier review their past billing and I notified the carrier of my concern for unauthorized charges and possible fraudulent billing. read more
