Dr. Patel is truly the best eye health professional in the greater Los Alamitos, Cypress, Rossmoor, Seal Beach, and east Long Beach area. Her Staff members are professional, friendly, and offer excellent patient/customer service. The optical boutique is well merchandised with quality eyewear, beautiful display of products. Dr. Patel has state of the art equipment (very high-tech) for a thorough eye health exam checking on glaucoma, cataracts, the back of the eye, and overall eye health. The refraction exam is digital and she communicates with you through the process with care, information and finesse. I highly recommend her as your personal and family Optometrist!! read more

Their office staff are very kind and thorough. Dr. Patel is so lovely and very attentive to any concerns or questions you may have. She has two office dogs who are very sweet and I'm sure help people if they are nervous or anxious about their visit. We just love seeing them when we come to our appointments! I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Patel, she is just an angel. Their eye glass selection is great and the staff are so good at helping you pick things that will complement your face. Also, the office is completely accessible with no thresholds that are raised! read more

Just FYI, they don't have toddler glasses and will gladly let a toddler try on their glasses and sell you glasses that are too big without warning you they're too big for toddlers. I as a first time parent of a kid with glasses had no idea what to be looking for and my son of course has no idea what it's supposed to feel like. They looked big but we had no idea. Now we do our research because it doesn't seem right and the glasses are for 10 year olds. These people should not have sold us these glasses, they essentially scammed us. They're the professionals that should have warned us they didn't have the right glasses and to either wait or go somewhere else, not just sell us something to sell us something. Bs. read more

Love Alamitos Eye Care. Easy to schedule appointment. Greeted by a wonderfully welcoming angel named Sydney upon arrival. Thorough eye examination by Dr. Patel, answering all my questions. Good selection of eyewear to choose from. Quick delivery time and fine tuning on fitting. read more

Based on my annual visits to Alamitos Eye Care, I would highly recommend Avani Patel do an exam of your eyes if you are over 60 years old. Dr. Patel is very skilled at visual risk management, which is defined as identifying an issue and providing treatment options/referrals before it becomes serious. For me, she identified the start of cataracts and implemented treatment protocol before I knew the issue existed and complex eye surgery would have be required. Dr. Patel makes complex digital images of each eye and uses a new enhanced software tool to analyze in real time the digital images of the eye and identify developing issues such as glaucoma or cataracts before they become apparent to the patient. Early detection saves the patient complex eye surgery and recovery time as well as the associated higher expense. I am an engineer by training and identifying risk items begore they become serious issues is important to me. read more

It is the most welcoming place, from the phone services to the in-person care, the staff is 10/10 and always incredibly helpful. read more

An overdue review for an optometrist who deserves every one of those five stars. Dr Patel provides a thorough exam and takes the time to get to know and understand your needs as it relates to your eyesight. A selection of glasses/sunglasses are available and if you don't like the selection, you can bring in your own pair. Our family has been seeing Dr Patel for the past couple of years and we have always appreciated the fact that we are never rushed, our concerns are addressed and she's got a personality that will make you feel at ease. read more

When eye care is needed Alamitos Eye Care is the place to go. I have been going to Dr. Patel for years now. I have never been disappointed in the service provided. My family members have also used Alamitos Eye Care. The office staff and others associated with office are approachable and friendly. One of the high points in Dr. Patel's care is answering my questions in a manner that I can understand. Considering this type of care is full of numbers and terms that relate to the condition of our eyes. That is super important for me to understand. Especially when it comes to the time to select what type of lenses and frames are available for glasses, and the prices and benefits. I highly recommend Dr. Patel for your eye care. dennis read more

I actually have never been here. I accidentally hit the star rating system for this business, and now I can't get out of it. The app won't let me take back my accidental review. However, I'm sure this is a very lovely business, and perhaps I will get my glasses here one day...but please don't rely on this review one way or the other. read more

My wife and I were referred to Dr. Patel by a friend a few years ago. We've been going yearly ever since. Dr. Patel and her staff are the friendliest, kindest and most diligent folks we have ever dealt with. Dr. Patel listens, is the most thorough doctor ever and checks every single potential issue, leaving nothing to chance. She explains everything and ensures our eyes are 100% getting the care they need. Recently, I had an issue with my left eye, Dr. Patel got me in that same day, seeing how frightened I was. She checked everything, going above and beyond and made sure it was nothing to be concerned about. She followed up the next day, calling personally and continued to throughout the issue. She and her staff, (along with her husband and Winston & KC) are amazing and will make sure you're very well taken care of. Well worth the visits and is happy to deal with cash patients who prefer her over other options. read more

While Dr Patel is very nice, the office downfall is Office mgr COURTNEY. Courtney is young, unhinged, extremely rude, and acting on behalf of Dr Patel, is a horrible example of someone who represents any office. Cortney has lied about insurance payments / coverage to keep from doing her job, refused to allow patients to speak to the doctor and refused to forward messages to Dr Patel. Not worth the hassle of trying to use this office. Don't waste your time with this office. Lots of options. Go somewhere else. read more

The manager is not nice. In a time when we have so many options, he should practice better customer service skills.

I came to this location after being taken advantage of from my prior optometrist in Cerritos. I did a little research and took a shot expecting to be disappointed. Five years later I'm still a happy patient. As well, my family now comes here too. The office is inviting, clean, organized and has a great display of eyewear for every age and style you're into. I've worked with Dr Patel each time. Her enthusiasm and knowledge speaks volumes when I have a question or concern with my eyes. She provides eye care recommendations that don't always require a prescription which is something I'm really keen to. I use to suffer from chronic migraines and in my opinion she goes the extra mile to ensure my eyes are healthy during the exam. Again, offers suggestions that have helped a great deal over the years and have reduced these headaches that use to run my life. She clearly hires the right people to work for her. They too are amazingly helpful. They have a good grasp on helping me find the right eyewear to fit my gorilla-like head. Prices are more than fair. I have never left there feeling as if I got ripped off or treated unfairly. If your looking for the "gotcha" moment here you won't find it. I've been a part of a family business and worked in sales the last 35yrs. No hard push here and you will leave feeling like your a part of the family here. They were and are a great find and a place I actually look forward to visiting each year. read more

I have never had the best luck with optometrists. But one day about 15 years ago, I met Dr Patel and her furbaby, Dakota, the sweetest dog ever! When I was looking for a new optometrist, she was recommended by a mutual friend. I have loved going there every since! She also has the sweetest dog(s) come and greet you and the best staff, who are always helpful. I need very specific style of glasses and she and her staff are the best at helping me pick out the right glasses every time... and even reminding me that certain styles don't work for me, because I forget every time. Now, my entire family goes there! This is the one DOCTOR that the kids get excited to go see! She is the absolutely best optometrist for kids. She works so well with kids, they are never scared for their exam and their tests, even when they had their first exam. I highly recommend Dr Patel for the whole family! read more

Decided to try out Alamitos Eye Care after several suggestions on Facebook's Los Alamitos Community Group. So glad I listened because Dr. Patel, John and her staff are great! Walked in and immediately felt like I had been going there for years - office staff was very friendly and as soon as Winston the office dog came by to greet me, I knew I was in the right place! Dr. Patel saw my son and me and took the time to get to know us. She's very personable and easy to talk to; it felt more like I was catching up with a friend than attending an appointment. After our chats she was able to make more informed decisions as to what would work best for us and how to move forward with prescriptions. Wonderful "bedside manner"!! I highly recommend Dr. Patel and will definitely refer friends and family to this office. read more

I went in on December 16th, mu son and I both ordered glasses, it was taking so long we had to leave to go get the other children. They said they would call to collect the payment, I got a call by Lupe and called back and left 2 messages, and never got a call back. Today is Jan 6th and I call and spoke with Lupe who stated the glasses aren't made and we have to come get measured and pay the deposit. No communication has been made and Lupe informed me to just cancel my order and take our prescription elsewhere! What kind of service is this? read more

This review is based on my personal experience. This office has violated ethics and been very unprofessional to get involved with Family Law matters. The optometrist Mrs. Patel wrote a letter on company letterhead to bash me as a father, that I didn't support my 2 daughters vision needs and that I refused to pay my portion. What she failed to mention in her letter was that my Vision Provider paid out the claim of $665 per child which included all necessary recommendations of blue screen protection and glare protection and the charges this office made was over the allowed covered amount of $665. This to me is a clear sign that there are inaccurate billing methods and/or abuse of billing. How could $665 per child not be sufficient to cover a child's vision needs? After I went to her office to speak with her about this concern and of the letter she wrote, Mrs. Patel and her business partner asked me to leave and that they didn't care if I wrote a complaint to the Board of Optometry because they have had it done to them before by other patients with no consequence. That is very concerning because they clearly don't have a good business practice and business ethic. Because of this, I have submitted a complaint to the Board of Optometry about their stance and involvement in Personal Family affairs. It's Very unprofessional, unethical, and dishonest in what their sharing in their signed statement to the opposing party. I am also having my insurance carrier review their past billing and I notified the carrier of my concern for unauthorized charges and possible fraudulent billing. read more
