We stepped into this intimate restaurant by chance and was glad we did . We had Tempura zucchini flowers , lasagna, roast beef. They were all delicious and outstanding. The young waiter and older wait staff were very kind and attentive. Such a lucky evening read more

Group tour dinner tonight in Florence & most of them to this point have been disappointing. Thankfully for the group this place exceeded our expectations. Right off the square we ventured in & no full bar just beer & wine available. We are all sat & bread is on the table along with a house salad fresh & decent. A small antipasto of Bruschetta, cheese & meats were also provided which were good, but really not much you can do to elevate it. We are offered a choice of entrees, with the Ravioli stuffed with burrata in a marinara sauce to be absolutely outstanding. The other option a Florentine Steak charred & served rare with roasted potatoes will good considering the situation. A nice homemade lemon cake for desert & fresh hot coffees were also good. I would definitely give this place a shot outside of the group dinner option as they did not rush us & the food & service were a big upgrade to some other places we have dined in Italy so far. read more

Florence was our third stop on our 1st Euro trip in 2016, and it was a great city. While In Florenzia, I was on a mission to find and eat Bistecca alla Fiorentina (Steak Florentine). My wife and I researched various restaurants near our hotel and found Al Trebbio. We made our way there and had a dinner I will never forget. We were sat at a table for two and our server was very funny and patient as I explained to him what I had been dying to try. When the huge piece of beef showed up at our table side, I knew I was going to leave there very happy. The beef was cut table-side and fresh lemon was given to me to squeeze on my steak as desired. The cook was a perfect Rare and let me just tell you, it was heavenly! My wife went with a pesto pasta and that paired perfectly with my Steak Florentine. Of course, we ended the meal dessert with an Affogato (Italian Coffee-based desert with Vanilla ice cream). It was the perfect way to complete our delicious meal. If you are in Florence, come eat at Al Trebbio and enjoy an evening full of Tuscan flavors. read more

We arrived to town during the Labor Day holiday and found many of our plans changed unexpectedly. Fortunately we were able to secure a reservation for a large group at the last minute. The waitstaff was very patient and helpful in recommending selections. The Maialino Al forno was delish as well as the Oso Buco. All in all a great experience for our group. We were probably a bit loud for the other patrons in our seating area, but they seemed to take it in stride. Give this spot a try, you'll like it! read more

For our last night of our stay in Florence, we decided to visit Trebbio. We had a big party (13) and luckily our hotel was able to get us reservations here. The staff was super friendly and very welcoming. They definitely added to the experienced. The ambiance was what an American would picture as a little family kind of restaurant. It was "cozy & cute" as my friend's wife described it. Being a huge group that likes to share, I was able to sample multiple items from their menu. The pasta with rabbit sauce the ravioli were probably my two favorites. I had ordered the steak (which Florence is famous for), but it was just decent. For the price, there are much better values on their menu. There are so many great restaurants in Florence, but this one was definitely an excellent choice, especially for being fairly reasonable. It is right near the Basilica Santa Maria Novella so if you need to burn some time to wait, in the plaza there was a farmer's market so we were able to entertain ourselves for 20 minutes while we waited for our table to be ready. read more

This dish. Wow. It's the paccheri on the chefs menu and it is absolutely divine. Creamy, flavorful and oh so satisfying. Best dish I've had in Florence so far. read more

Got into Florence late and found this restaurant open and it was crowded. They were able to seat us right away and a table by an open door, which we really liked. The wine was excellent and all our food was great. We all ordered on recommendations from our server. Highly recommend. read more

Hi Yelp community! Today I would like to review the beautiful Trattoria al Trebbio. This is a tropical Italian restaurant where locals eat. All the food screams home made and delicious. Grate for a Lunch or Dinner. Try there home wine, it comes in 1/4, 1/2 or a full liter. If you are in Florence don't miss this local place! read more

This was our final meal in Florence.....And we're so happy we gave this spot a shot. I finally ordered the Bistecca Florentine and was not disappointed. I'm generally a Ribeye snob. This steak did not disappoint. I was a little concerned when he didn't ask how I wanted it prepared. BUT, when it came out, it was prepared perfectly. Juicy and tender, as I would expect from any top line steak house in the States. Pasta Ragu was great, pasta with clams....great! The place is not real flashy, but if you happen by, you won't be disappointed by the food. Stong recommendation!! read more

This is our favorite place to eat in all of Florence. It's so good! Each time we have come in, we have been treated special, each time in a different way. Once, it was free sweets for the kids and limoncello for the adults. Once it was free riboletta just to try. Our favorite, though, was when our kids ordered rabbit. The waiter took time with our kids to teach them to say rabbit in Italian. 3 years later, my children still have fond memories of this place and still remember how to say conelio! Tonight, we came back and enjoyed perfect steaks. You just can't go wrong here! read more

So great. Red house wine is incredible, pecorino and pear salad is on point, and the eggplant parm is MAGICAL. Super authentic, very reasonable (8-12 euro per dish). MUST GO HERE PEOPLE! read more

The food here is good, BUT the portion is small. However, what makes it worse is the service. We waited 30-45 minutes before we were able to get our check, after asking for it on 3 different occasions. Service was extremely slow and they were not busy. I recommend going to Giovanni, which is right down the street or to Buca Mario which is also down the way. read more

The steak was under cooked and I was fully disappointed in what I thought would be an awesome steak. They charge a cover charge per person just to eat there. Took forever to get the bill. Would not eat there again. read more

This restaurant is recommended by the employees at the hotel. So we expected the best steak you could ever think. That was not the case here. This place suffers from the same fate as many high-volume restaurants. Too many patrons causes the kitchen to produce too much food with not enough staff. Even after the table was cleared we had to ask for the check two times. Wassupwidat? We ordered tossed salad and spinach salad and steak Florentine for two, which is a really large three inch range T-bone steak. They charge by the hectogram but it is way over priced considering the quality. Simply put it was not cooked properly...scalded on the outside and raw meat on the inside. Of course like any piece of meat that you ordered "medium" there's a little more pink on the inside than outside... But there's a limit to how much difference that can be acceptable. The steak was served entirely raw next to the bone. Ergo, cooked too fast... Salad was average, the service was average, so alright say this was an average restaurant with a cover charge. Just did not live up to the expectations we had when it was recommended. Not recommended. We will never return, especially given that my dinner companion said she would never eat here even if she lived in this town. Skip it. read more

This small neighborhood restaurant tried hard to please and delivered a tasty meal with a pleasant manner. Despite being popularized by Rick Steves, it seems to be grounded. We steer away from the big slabs of beef touted in this city as bistecca Florentine. Instead, we enjoyed the onion soup, risotto, salad, and spinach appetizer. read more

Ate lunch here the other day, based on a Rick Steve's recommendation. The waiter took our order, came back and dropped our food on the table, and never came back. We eventually had to track him down just to get the bill. They charge a 2.50 Euro/person sitting charge, and for 4 people, my lunch came to 57 Euros. The food was good (not outstanding), but considering the service, and the small portions, I cannot recommend this restaurant. I left a note on the receipt, indicating (in Italian) "Poor Service" and the waiter approached me and said, "Why??" I told him her never checked back with us during the meal, and that he simply dropped the food off and left. I pointed out that we and one other person were the only people inside of the restaurant. He said he was the only one working that day, and that he had tables outside to wait. I offered to speak to his manager about under-staffing, but he didn't want me to. The next evening we had a fantastic dinner at Trattoria Dall' Ostre (near the train station) for practically the same price (10% discount coupons available in hotels and on-line). read more

The bruschetta with apple, avocado and peach was a real surprise. The ossobuco was just perfect! The service was nice and fast, even though it was a very busy night. read more

Very friendly atmosphere and fair prices. Hey, this is not supposed to be a fancy restaurant and it isn't. It's way better! Recommended by our hotel (Hotel Casci...stay there) we arrived a little early for our reservation and were greeted with a " what are we going to do, put you on the street ?" We knew then we were in for a good time. Food was excellent and reflected local cuisine. I had the privilege of sitting under the curing Proscuitto which dripped (once) on me. Doesn't get much more authentic than this. House wine, white and red, both good, but red is excellent and at 12 euro a litre can't be beat. Our family of 4 ordered 6 dishes which filled us. Included rabbit pasta, steak, lasagna. Rabbit pasta special was especially good. Giuseppe also gave us complimentary bruschetta and we ordered 2 desserts. Total bill about 100 euro, which seems a lot but reflects our excesses, not the reasonable prices of this Trattoria. Look for its large vertical green sign and be sure to dine here! read more

Our hotel suggested this trattoria since we were unable to get a table and two others we were interested in. I will say we were pleasantly surprised! I had the rabbit pasta, which was amazing. My husband had ragu pasta and the Florentine steak, which he was very happy with. Our server was awesome and even brought some limoncello our for us to end our meal. We did notice they seat by nationality, which was a little odd but gave us an opportunity to share stories with other travelers. All in all it was a wonderful night! read more

Great Place! If I had to order one thing it would be the penne with rabbit sauce- Fantastic. I also tried their osso buco which was good, but the penne is something not to be missed. read more

Terrible food. They basically microwave the food after you order. Prices are also quite high. Save your euros and keep away from this restaurant read more

We found this quaint Restaurant two days into our stay in Florence. It turns out that it was the same place that our parents had visited last year and loved so much. We were waited on by a lovely lady who was very helpful in picking our dinner meals. We had the Crepes filled with Spinach and Cheese which were light, fluffy and delicious. We also had the fried chicken filet with vegetables and also pork steak with spinach, both of which were very good. The house red wine was delicious and the price of the meal quite reasonable. Our waitress made the whole experience worthwhile and fun. We highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Fantastic food and service...sat outside and loved it. Great location. Food was superb-the eggplant Parmesan was great. Wines, as expected, were wonderful and the recommendation of the staff was right on. Definitely a keeper read more

We asked our hotel to recommend a restaurant for good Florentine steak. The concierge made us a reservation and we were sat promptly. From there the night went downhill. I don't know if it was because our server was overwhelmed with how many tables he had, or if he was tired of all the tourists in his station, but he seemed short on patience and not very interested in providing good service. We started with the crostini sampler, which had 3/4 options as unmemorable, and one that was inedible. My husband ordered the steak Florentine and I had the Gorgonzola ravioli. The steak was ok and the ravioli were over cooked and dry. The side of vegetables was soggy and sad looking (and tasting). We had planned to stay for dessert, but left early for greener pastures. Do yourself a favor and don't let your hotel pick a restaurant for you, at least not this one. read more

Absolutely amazing. Great waiter with good knowledge of the food. Had probably the best pasta I've ever had, a black truffle white sauce pasta that was simply outstanding. If you are in Florence, you MUST try this restaurant. read more

I spent three weeks in Italy, and this was my favorite restaurant. I can't speak to any other dishes, but the bolognese sauce and penne pasta was so amazing, that I went completely out of my way to get it a second time before leaving Florence. The servers were polite and the environment was cozy. Highly recommended. read more

This restaurant was unsatisfactory. From when we walked in, the hot, humid smell was avid throughout the place. Our bread was cold and stale and was cut by the same guy who made the money transactions. The wine had almost become vinegar. The pasta was mediocre, but for the price, definitely not worth it. If you want 2 star food for a 4 star price, this is the place for you. read more

My hotel recommended this place and I was too tired to do better research. Everything about it was mediocre. My dish had shredded ricotta on it even though the menu described a creamy ricotta sauce. And to top it off, a man selling roses came in and was not kicked out. Definitely not worth the price. read more

Avoid this restaurant. Hotel recommended this and it was terrible. They stuck us by the bathrooms- which smell when there were plenty of tables available. They hurried us thru our meal- we were done in one hour and this was the most expensive meal we have had in Florence and Rome. Ordered the steak and it was raw and chewy. Do not bother- so many other good restaurants in Florence. read more

The place was packed when we arrived during the heart of the American dinner hours and the servers made a nice effort at getting us a table. The service was good (cover was 2€ a person), but the bread came without oil and and vinegar and it was a challenge to procure some. The food was also good; we had the meatballs and spiral pasta with rabbit sauce. The rabbit pasta was excellent but the meatballs were somewhat bland. Liter of house wine was 13€. Will return if ever in Florence again. read more
