Grape Molasses with Tahini and Nuts - with Simit

If you're not licking your fingers by the end, you did it wrong. Came back here after a few years away, and wow--somehow it's even better than I remembered. This place has leveled up. Middle Eastern breakfast dreams are made right here in Anaheim. We devoured the foul (aka the best fava bean dish in SoCal), and the manakeesh? Let's just say I had to talk myself out of ordering three more. Everything was so good, I didn't even think to snap a photo until the plates were basically evidence of a crime scene. (Exhibit A: see photo.) Just when we thought we were too full to move, we spotted another table get the grape molasses with walnuts and simit--and well, we caved. No regrets. The perfect sweet, nutty, sticky ending to a flawless meal. (Yes, we did take a photo of that one.) The tea was fresh and minty, the pickles hit just right, and the warm, fluffy bread is the kind you want to wrap your whole life in. Friendly vibes, cozy setup, and a kitchen that knows exactly what it's doing. Al Sanabel isn't just a bakery--it's a ritual. Already plotting my next return.

You can never go wrong here. I took a photo after we already started to eat them but at least you can see a quick image. The flavors/taste is amazing. Very friendly the minute you walk in and per usual quick service

I was there during the grand opening of the original Al Sanabel in the 1990s. I am good friends with the original owner, Nadeem, and my father also worked for Al Sanabel Restaurant for many years. It was always a great place to eat, and a great hang out for locals. Today, I took my family to eat dinner at Al Sanabel for the first time in many years since change of ownership. The new owners are a Syrian family with high standards. One thing I immediately noticed is that the food is rich and as good if not better than anything I've eaten here throughout the past 25 years. This tells me they are making an investment in their future. I will be coming back. They know how to prepare a good Mediterranean dish whether it's Lebanese, Turkish, or Syrian!

    Breakfast is amazing!!!

This restaurant is family owned and operated. The establishment is super clean, the food is so fresh and so delicious! The brothers really go above and beyond. I highly recommend the Adana Kabab, Sarma Beyti, The Cheese and Sojouk Boat, breakfast spread, and all the way down to their tea. It never disappoints!

We absolutely love Al Sanabel!! I can't believe we have been coming here for five years!! Whenever we are craving Middle Eastern pizzas we always run to Al Sanabel!! I'm not sure if that's what they are actually called but that's what we call them. We always get their spinach and cheese pizza along with their minced beef pomogranite pizza. Both are our favorites!! And both are absolutely delicious!! They sometimes serve them rolled up so you can eat them like burritos. Each pizza is about four slices so if you are starving I recommend two pizzas per person. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. They only have canned and bottles drinks which you choose from their fridges and you can grab any before you pay. They recently added a new menu with many new exciting items!! I can't wait to try their new dishes!!

From the moment you walk in, you already see people walking out with boxes on boxes which tells you everything. This is the kind of place you come to eat and to cater. They do have plenty of seating, but during peak hours it definitely gets crowded and packed. A true sign of how loved this place is. The ambiance adds to the experience too. I especially love the Middle Eastern paintings on the walls. It gives the space a warm, cultural, and authentic feel. First off, the bread. All house made and incredibly fresh. You can taste the quality in every bite. From the dough to the toppings, everything feels intentional and authentic. The spinach pies... absolutely next level. Spinach packed generously and bursting with that bright, zesty lemon flavor, mixed with onions and olive oil. Perfectly balanced and so satisfying. Muhamara had a nice kick today. It had a medium spice level with just enough heat to keep things interesting (and honestly, I love that it varies a bit. It feels homemade every time). The cheese manaeesh is a WOW. The cheese blend they use is so good. I'm lactose sensitive and somehow never feel bloated after eating it which says a lot. And the safiha... You can literally taste the depth of the seven spices, with a hint of cinnamon that ties it all together beautifully. Everything is made to order. So yes be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes. But trust me, it's 100% worth it. Quality like this takes time. What really seals the deal is the people. The owners and staff are beyond welcoming. The kind of place where you instantly feel like family. I've become a regular, and every visit feels like coming home. Authentic, fresh, flavorful, and made with heart. Don't sleep on this spot.

Although, It might've been too sweet if I didn't order the drink half sweet. I'm not sure how much everything cost because i didn't pay for it but i assume it's expensive as they use real, quality ingredients. For two, we ordered the "individual portions" of Mandi Chicken (young chicken roasted with Yemeni spices) & Lalamb Haneeth (a roasted young lamb that falls off the bone). These were both served over a large platter of Mandi rice and came with Yemeni sauce and yogurt. It was expertly made, yet still gave us the warmth of a homestyle meal. The generous portions resulted in a second meal for me! On a Tuesday night, this place was quite packed with friends and families. It seems like wonderful place to host parties or business meetings. Someone nearby us had a birthday, and a group of staff came out with a dessert, blasting a traditional birthday song over the speakers and encouraged the whole restaurant to clap along! Despite the large gatherings, the restaurant is a no-reservation spot. They have a covered patio outside to seat an overflow of customers in case. Thankfully, my boyfriend and I were seated right away. They had a contactless menu, and we scanned a QR code to check our food options, but a server took our order and offered great recommendations once we waved him down. I would love to come back and try other dishes, like their grilled chicken or lamb--as well as the desserts and teas !!

I tried my first one in Seattle at a place called Miss Cafe and really enjoyed it. This restaurant is located in a large plaza so there was plenty of parking. Upon walking in it was pretty busy on a Sunday around 11:30am, we were seated immediately. As we were leaving, there were plenty of people waiting for a table. Food I was hoping to order a combination juju boat but the waitress taking our order mentioned the beef is out of stock so therefore we ordered the Juju chicken pide. The flatbread was cooked nicely, the dough was thin, every bite didn't feel too heavy. However the chicken was really dry and didn't feel like there was enough sauce/cheese, ended up putting some garlic sauce on top and it made it a little better. We also ordered the combination platter which came with lamb Kofte, beef/chicken kebab and two sides. We chose hummus and salad as the two sides and it paired well with the plate. The beef was a little dry but the Kofte and chicken were pretty good. They also served us two flatbreads which was nice for wrapping the meat and dipping in hummus. The hummus tasted very fresh and clean with delicate flavors, wish it had a little more tart. Side salad was simple and fresh with olive oil and lemon juice. The Kebbah was piping hot but didn't have much flavor, think it needed some sort of sauce. Overall, the ingredients tasted very fresh and minimalistic but definitely can do with a bit more seasoning or sauce for flavor. Service was friendly and not overly attentive. The servers didn't offer any water or drinks. Almost every table had tea so we flagged down someone to place an order after ordering our meal. There was a little mishap with our order but the owner came over to the table and cleared up the misunderstanding and asked us if we needed anything. Didn't seem like they had a lot of staff for such a busy morning. The space felt very clean and very lively with the lunch rush.
