The front desk employee was really nice as well. I felt very welcomed and decided to get a membership there. It's worth it because they have really nice equipment and awesome employees . I didn't arrive late, however the girls at the front desk did not allow me to enter because "the room is dark and the instructor has to help you onto your spin bike". I've been to cycle bars where the front desk girls assist class attendees onto their bikes, so I was surprised by this policy. They said I'd have to wait for the spin portion to be over before allowing me in. However, the problem was that a woman arrived after me, 10 minutes late, and they allowed her right in and told her what bike she was on. I had friends inside the class who told me afterwards that this woman took the bike that I was supposedly assigned on; apparently my name was written above the bike. This leads me to believe that the front desk girls gave up my spot when I wasn't late, and covered it up with excuses to hide the fact that they have the bike up to someone who arrived late. I did partake in the strength and yoga portion of the class. I really enjoyed the instructor, her pacing, her demeanor, encouragement, attentiveness, and the way she lead the exercises. I would give her a 5 stars alone however I have to rate the experience based on the practice and the poor etiquette of the front desk girls. Still, I enjoyed the part I was allowed to partake in and I'd be open to returning to give it a real shot.

I do wish they would mix up the class times once in a while because I've been going for about two years and schedule hasn't changed much so I end up doing the same classes each week. The instructor Jennifer is great. I love that she does different things each week so I don't get bored with it. The place is clean, large, good staff, nice pool. I like the E gym so you don't have to adjust weights as it remembers when you scan your bracelet. They have a lot of community/family based events.

I've been going to The Peter Blum Family YMCA for years, and overall it's a good place -- but there…read moreare definitely some important pros and cons. Let me start with the positives. The management team is always very polite and helpful. One of the main reasons I've stayed so long is their wide variety of classes -- yoga, BodyPump, Pilates, Zumba, HIIT, BodyCombat, and more. I used to LOVE the BodyPump and BodyCombat classes, especially with instructors Zoe and Cindy Lee -- they were incredible. So much energy, motivation, always correcting form and really engaging with the class. Truly my favorites. Unfortunately, after they left, I stopped attending those classes. I did try the new instructor, but the experience was very different -- loud in an uncomfortable way, lots of personal talk during class, and overall not the same professional atmosphere. There was also an awkward situation that made me feel unwelcome. I was filming myself and my friend briefly (as I sometimes do), making sure no one else was in the background. The instructor approached me in a way that felt unnecessarily confrontational, repeating the same comment about not filming, even after I had already stopped and put my phone away. After that, I felt uncomfortable returning to those classes and eventually stopped going altogether -- especially when I noticed the same energy during future visits. That said, the yoga classes are still excellent -- very strong instructor and great experience. The gym itself is well-equipped with modern machines, always clean, and offers great amenities: sauna, steam room, and a pool. Kids' programs are also a big plus -- my children have been taking swimming classes there for years (we've been coming here for about 6 years total), and they love it. When they were younger, we also attended "mommy & me" classes, which were wonderful -- lots of songs, playtime, and interaction. There's also a kids' playroom with staff, toys, and activities, as well as two playgrounds. They even have a daycare, and a small indoor play area available on weekends -- very family-friendly overall. Now, a couple of serious downsides. The building is quite old, and during rainy season the roof leaks -- I've seen water dripping in areas like the café and even the gym floor, with buckets placed underneath instead of fixing the issue. That's definitely concerning. Another important issue is the parking lot. There is an exposed metal rod sticking out where a parking stopper used to be, right near the front entrance by the windows. I personally had a scary experience with it -- it pressed into my car wheel, and I was lucky it didn't puncture the tire. I reported it and even left a review about it, but a year later it still hasn't been fixed. Please be very careful when parking in that area. Overall, it's a place with great potential, strong programs, and a family-friendly environment -- but also with some issues that really should be addressed.

Both gyms are about the same distance from my house, but I prefer the Boca location. They have the same amenities, but the Boca gym is much more aesthetically pleasing. I especially love the room on the left side when you first walk in. There's a record sign up there. I like to record workout content every now and then, and that space is perfect for it. I also really like the graffiti-style art on the walls. The only downside is that it's always pretty packed whenever I go, which can be a bit uncomfortable at times, but it is what it is. The staff could work on their customer service, as they're not always the friendliest, but I've dealt with worse.

He tried to play it off but never answered me. I explained to him that I'm a member and don't appreciate being disrespected by being barked at like if I was a dog. This gentleman proceeded to escalate the situation and asked me if I wanted to have a problem with him. He might be used to threatening people in his life, but I don't play that nonsense. Customer Service 101, apologize and rectify. I politely explained to him that instead I wanted the solution of being treated with dignity and respect. Like all cowards he tried to play it off instead of manning up and being accountable for his immature and unprofessional behavior. He commanded me to "walk away" to which I responded with "apologize." He refused and then squirried away from the front desk. To exacerbate the situation, one his older white coworkers (Lee?) told me that he would beat him up if he ever barked at me again. Instead of an apology, I got another clown trying to punk me. I then saw them both talking so I approached them to have a professional conversation. This time the white employee ran off with his tail between his legs and the tall African American employee told me, "don't come at me." Instead of having a professional conversation, he also ran bravely away. BTW, I'm 5'7" and 160 lbs. This gentleman is 6'4" and at least 200 lbs. Trust me, there was NEVER going to be a physical interaction. I just wanted to talk, man to man. I guess little boys can't handle that yet. If you're the GM, please contact me. I have been a member of EOS for years both in California and Florida and have never run into anything remotely as unprofessional as this. Please run a serious business and hire professionals. EOS, you're better than this.

They have a perfect combination of clean and modern, challenging and refreshing workouts as well as void of the portentous gym types! I have taken classes at different studios and the Boca Raton location is great! You quite literally see Dan (the owner) live the CITYROW Ethos, (if you don't believe me check his Finisher numbers on the board each month)! IF YOU'VE NEVER BEEN ON A ROWER BEFORE - Just try it! What do you have to lose? Other than 50 mins of your day. You will learn proper form, especially if you come early, the instructors will show you! And, you will forever recognize and understand how the WaterRowers work. IF YOU "HATE WORKING OUT" - Hi! We are a lot alike, (my most natural state is sleeping) but with that said... CityROW signature class STILL to this day is the ONLY group fitness class that I have every really enjoyed. (Ive tried spin, yoga, palates, the works!) I have been to classes at a few locations, and can say with confidence that it is the combination of floor work and rowing that helps break up that time, as well as the music and energetic instructors that hep you over the hump! As soon as I felt like I was ready to give up, we moved to a the rower again, or onto the mat. Signature Classes were the gateway drug. Strength class is for anyone who enjoys weights/challenging themselves! IF YOU AREN'T A GROUP JOINER - (Same) Problem solved, reserve a rower at the back, or side of the class. You don't need to be up front and center to get a workout in. Drew likes to remind you that "Its your workout, there is no shame in your game". IF YOU DON'T LOVE CARDIO - Take a strength class, I have done almost 40 classes with Drew. A LOT more weights and floor work. They run a lot of promotions and my first class was free, I then followed up with a few more, and now I do a monthly membership and go twice a week. I'm about about 50 mins away, but make it a priority to go. You can choose what weights you use throughout the class, and the great thing about using WaterRowers is that you set your resistance. Throw your Finisher times on the board, or just take notes for yourself and see if you can make or break that time.
