I spoke with Jonathan and told him that I tested the charger with a multimeter and it seemed to have the right voltage. But I told him not to take my word for it because maybe I didn't test it correctly. He took a look at the charge port of the computer to make sure it wasn't physically damaged. The port was fine. He took another charger and plugged it in just to rule out a charger problem; the new charger started charging the computer!??? Out of curiosity, I asked him if I tested the charger incorrectly by telling him how I did it. He said that just because I was getting the correct voltage that didn't mean that it was supplying the right amperage. This may be helpful to others that read this review since many of us use YouTube to try and fix things: I learned how to test my charger by watching a YouTube video by a "computer tech". He showed how to test a laptop charger, and stated that if the voltage is correct, then the charger is fine. He didn't state that the voltage could be fine, but the amperage could be a problem. The lesson here is don't rely on YouTube or assume the worst if you try to fix your computer by watching a video and running a test on it that fails. Just take your computer to a honest and helpful professional like Jonathan. He didn't charge me any fee to take a look at my computer. I just bought a new charger from him and I'm using the computer now to write this review. If I need help with a computer repair in the future then I'll just go back to this shop. Highly recommend that you take your computer there if you're having a problem with it.

Canon comes by all the time trying to get us to sign a service contract but I don't need one. I have Eduardo. He always come within 48 hours and will fix your machine on the spot if he can. Not only does he fix the our office copiers with skill and efficiency he always takes the time before he leaves to show me 1. Exactly what was wrong with the machine including what was broken and why I was having the problem I was having 2. Whether there is anything I can do to prevent the problem in the future or if something that we did to the machine caused the problem 3. If there is something that he sees in the machine or that I'm doing that he knows will cause us a problem in the future. So I get fast, skilled PREVENTATIVE maintenance all with no contract at great ratees. Usually a hundred or so dollars plus parts. Awesome awesome awesome.

He took a look at our equipment and got straight to work, and before we knew it, it was fixed. The turnaround was so quick and in a reasonable amount of time he contacted us with the estimate of what was needed for the repair. The price was also very fair. I know a lot of people hesitate when it comes to paying for a diagnostic, but in our case it absolutely paid off. Replacing the equipment would have cost us well over $1,000, and instead everything was resolved for $115. That alone made the visit worth it. Beyond the great price and speed, I love that we have a shop like this right here in our community. In a world where everyone just throws things out to buy the newest model, it feels good to support a local business that helps you repair and reuse.
