If you review my check-ins leading up to this review, you'll likely conclude that I was, in fact, on a mission for pants. Specifically, pants long enough to cover all of my legs, while navigating around my ever growing, muscular booty and thighs. Express has long been my haven for such a query.... But they're no longer stocking long lengths at all their stores. They offer to order them. From the internets. And even offer free shipping. Those fragmented sentences above were separated, out loud, in my mind, by such explicatives as "shit" and "FMLL" (f my long legs) seeing as my flight is in two days. I parked somewhere in west Schaumburg, and trudged up the sloped parking lot, barely escaping a plethora of women drivers, who, without my catlike reflexes, would have run me over flat. I navigated around rowdy, unkempt children, only to be halted by cell phone chatting mall patrons as they shouted into their iPhones. I must have sprinted into the store, and centered myself in front of the giant wall of stacked slacks. My eyes scanned the numbers and letters... Long for the elusive "L". Up and down, twice, thrice.... I was getting worried. My hands, starting to sweat, I might have been twitching. A sales rep was on me, she reached into the bookcase of bloomers and snapped open a pair like it was nothing. LONG! They were exactly what I had traveled here for! I held them in my hands like a treasure, my eyes grew large, and a weight had been lifted. Then she mentioned, "everything is up to 50% off, and you can use coupons too" All of me wanted to leave. Too many people, lots of signs, so much clothing... I don't belong here. But the girl inside of me reminded me that, if I got it all now, I could avoid coming back till summer. This plus 'sale' sent me rushing through the store, grabbing my size in three different colors of one, five of another and heading to the line. The line was really well managed- moved quickly, but allowed me time to pull up my last email blast from Express. It landed me an additional $25 off every $75 I was spending. I had brought $500 worth of clothes up, and Joshua, who rang me up, graciously applied my email coupon, found my next account, had me laughing and smiling throughout. I complimented him on the store and staff, recalling how intense and insane keeping up with weekend retail could be. It was a great overall experience, and I ended up getting a ridiculous deal on clothing that I will wear! Especially those pants! Top notch Express experience, even if I had to go to two, and to a mall, on a weekend!

I returned a few items for my daughter and similar to our experience picking up they could not find…read morethe order. The attendant requested the manager to assist and after several minutes he was able to find the orders and process the return. Their systems need to improve.

I went in today after a long hiatus . upon walking in they always within a minute ask if you need help. i politely always say just browsing . i enjoy shopping alone and like to take my time . After the polite just browsing , if you pick up anything in hand they are. suck like a hawk putting it dressing room. Ok then another item in hand , back again taking it out of hand . It's always the same . sometimes i like to not even try on but i don't bother here bc they grab it . Ok now in 7 min you are approached multiple times . into fitting room , they knock immediately asking if you need something else . i get it maybe soma people like that service but i don't and usually try to politely give the vibe that i just want to shop solo . I usually just want to get out once i am in and don't buy a thing . Today i purchased a shirt but i won't be back . 5-6 women working, 1-2 customers , it just always feels so forced .

The cashier introduced me to the silicone spray which at first I thought was a gimmick but I think there is some real benefit to it as it coats. I think it also helps with the structure and shape thus integrity of the shoe. The machine has a camera inside so you can actually see that it is spraying. This is great for some types of shoes. I plan to bring my other pairs, it doesn't have to be bought from DSW.

There is no one really walking around the floor, so you basically have to move heaven and earth to track someone down. Also, there are not enough benches (correct term?) where you try on the shoes. There is one per aisle, at most, and that doesn't work so well when it's busy. Still an issue is the whisper-at-most of AC in this store. Plenty of stores maintain a pleasant temperature - I get it if they don't want the store too cold. But here, it was hot and muggy. I felt more sweaty here than outside! It was so gross, and I didn't think I'd run into that in an indoor location, but oh well. The prices were pretty good, with the exception of the shoes that were not eligible for promotions (that might've come from above, though, like Nike corporate or Addidas corporate, and not their fault at DSW). I saved 20% off an already reasonable price by signing up for their newsletter as a ~*~*VIP~*~. The 20% off being available through that method only should've been communicated better at the outset, but oh well. I saved 20% and got some cool gym shoes, so that's good at least.

After waiting for quite a while, we approached an employee and asked for help. The response was simply, "I'll send you someone," but no one came to assist us. There was no apology for the wait, no attention to customers, and the overall attitude felt rude and dismissive. For a luxury brand that prides itself on customer service, this experience was far below expectations. We left feeling ignored and unwelcome. Unfortunately, after this experience, we do not want to return to this store.

They had so many purses to choose from my brain was swimming. I didn't expect them to have so much. Although expensive I think you also realize the value of the type of purse you buy. They tend to look brand new for a long time. I have to honestly say the best part of the whole experience was the service we received from Vanessa. She has helped us multiple times and she has been such a pleasure to work with. She is smart, educated, and pretty and she got my taste pretty quickly. My friend commented that it reminded her of "Charming Charlie but with more clothes"...& indeed, it turns out their space is a former Charming Charlie! Clothes were cute yet didn't skew too young (stores I used to reliably shop at, like Dry Goods, are now all crop tops and babydoll lengths). I tried on an armful of things and ended up with a top and a sweater, both for what I felt were reasonable prices. My only complaints stem from the dressing room. They put us together in a larger room, which is totally fine. But i guess nothing indicated that the room was occupied because staff kept knocking on the door, either to see if we were still in there or if we needed anything. Once or twice, okay, but this was like 5 or 6 times....maybe put up a sign? Also, the dressing room lighting, from two sconces and a small chandelier, was "moody" at best... need to up the wattage a bit so people can see those potential purchases! Staff was helpful, especially Lisa. I would definitely come back, and found out there are other locations closer to me, too! She said they get new merch on Wednesdays, so gives me an excuse to check out one of the other shops soon.

Let me also say, the fitting rooms were wonderful. Pants have always been a struggle but here there were so many options! It's been over a month & my garments have held up nicely through repeated washes. No fading, shrinking, or pilling. So while more expensive than other brands, the quality is there. I then went through each of the fabrics. I wanted to purchase for my shirt and 3 custom suits and did all the measurements. They had about 15 minutes to spare when I finally asked for the total price so I can get billed and leave. I told my sales rep and manager that I was buying a suit that needed to be ready within a couple weeks maybe 3 to 4 and they said that they can meet that timeframe as well as have everything done before the hour. When I was saying OK, let's check out - with plenty of time to spare, they pushed me out the door by saying why don't you schedule another time with your Sales Rep for the next time he'll be here. ... we're closing. My wife was with me and I was pretty upset because I was wasted several hours of figuring out where I wanted to go and when I finally arrived there and did all the work to buy new suits, they rushed me out so they can close for the night early .... never again!
