Jakob was our server and he was exceptionally educated on the menu and helped us decide to try several courses. We had the giant prawns, waygu tacos and rice, the teriyaki chicken which I cannot recall the exact name, the potato purée, and Lamb chops were all delicious! Came here for New Year's Eve tonight. Overall it was really good. A few things that made me not give it 5 stars: 1) the wagyu beef was really tough and chewy... I actually had to spit it in my napkin at one point 2) our last course (the sushi) took forever to come out. 3) we were freezing outside and confused how there were only 2 heaters. Many other tables seemed annoyed by that. Everything else though was great. The tuna pizza was unreal. I think for 1000 dollars for two people though, the wagyu really should've been better and a little more organized overall. There is nothing like it in Delray Beach or even South Florida. Michelin star Chef Akira Back has done it again! We started off with the Salmon Tiradito and Grilled Octopus (to die for!) . For Entrees, we shared the Cow- Wow Roll, Hot Mess Roll, Sashimi Platter and Lamb Chops. We ended our dinner with mochi and the Chocolate in a Cup dessert. The food was very very good...unique flavors and prep VERY small portions- expensive The front end management is not on their game..I dont believe restaurants should not be able to honor their reservations..they either dont have any data on average time to dine by party size or they are just overbooking and dont give a sh*t. They were 45 minutes late on our reservation for 4. Locals will not make this a regular restaurant visit if this nonsense continues. Maybe that is ok for them as they are essentially a hotel restaurant When I asked to see the manager after 30 minutes & I referenced their policy to cancel reservations if a party is late 15 minutes ...I said dont we deserve the same consideration. He replied " we are doing the best we can but it is what it is "..can you imagine showing up 40 minutes late and say "we were driving as fast as we could but there was a lot of traffic"...sorry ....We have a 15 minute grace period. Bottom line is the place is poorly managed...to make things worse, the acoustics are TERRIBLE. This is not a cool noisy vibe..it is simply unbelievably TOO LOUD to talk to one another. The noise dies down around 1030 ...1030 was awful. All the tables around us were complaining. ALL MANAGEMENT MUST BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY. Oh boy. Where do I start. It's been a while since I had to say that everything was bad from the ever missing hostess to the service and to the kitchen. We had to wait for 20 minutes to get ONE menu for two. The sea urchin in the appetizer was so rotten that I pray we do not start enduring the effects of food poisoning in a couple of hours (I'm writing this review as my companion is driving us home). The rice on the rolls was falling apart--it was not possible to pick up any piece without losing all the particles. The miso soup was simply a salty water--no more, no less. The soy sauce and sake came well after we finished the first two rolls. All servers and bus boys were generally polite and apologetic, but also very disorganized and disoriented at the same time. Our server literally told us that a few people abruptly left that night. People do not leave their shift abruptly, who work for good management--I speak as someone with extensive restaurant management experience. Even the check was delivered in a subpar manner--I had to use my own pen to sign it. We left a 20% tip as we felt bad for the server who was very clearly picking up his manager's slack. Absolutely incredible! My boyfriend took me last night to celebrate my birthday and we could not have been happier. The service was over the top phenomenal. Our server was Rebecca and she was amazing. She told us she would guide us through the menu to make sure we had the best experience and ordered so dishes would best compliment one another. That's exactly what she did! The cuts of fish were mind blowing. As a couple we are obsessed with trying different Toro sashimi at high end sushi restaurants, and of course theirs was delicious. But it was when Matt, the manager came over the chat with us that we were taken away. We told him about our Toro journey. He showed us pictures of the fish when it arrived. He then told us about their Chu Toro, which I hadn't noticed on the menu. Matt brought us each a sample on the house! That was better than the sashimi we ordered! Everything was outstanding!
