Paul and I went to Ganzo after the movies for an early dinner at 5:30 pm on Wednesday. Yay- we were able to order from their happy hour menu which is available until 6 pm. We sat outside to warm up after sitting in the cold movie theatre. There were screens and a fan but those annoying flies still wanted to join us for dinner. The lychee martinis were delicious and they included 3 lychees. For $25 we each had a delicious and hot 4 course dinner. We each had a hot and sour soup, spring roll and sushi rolls - 10 piece ocean roll and the Super Spider Roll which was super delicious. We ended with vanilla ice cream. Service was excellent. Not impressed. First time here. I ordered the poke bowl and rainbow roll. The poke bowl was eww. Maybe 2 oz of salmon if that. Definitely portion controlled on every ingredient. There was however an over abundance of rice. Go figure. The rainbow roll was eww too. Definitely I'll never order raw food there again. I left with a stomach ache. 2 out of 5 starts for good service and ambience, however hot appetizer and entrees were not the best. A Chashu Pork Belly Bao Bun should not be overpowered by briny pickles. The sauce utilized is straight sugar and hoisin. The Seafood Trio comes with mussels, scallop and a huge prawn with egg noodles in a sauce that tastes like soy sauce. Most of the sauce unfortunately was absorbed on the egg noodles and no flavor profile was added on the protein. I had expectations for a better outcome of restaurant right next to an IMAX theatre. Very broad menu including ramen, sushi, tapas and many more Japanese specialties. I started with a Special Nigiri Hamachi, lime soy gel, serrano and micro cilantro. Very nice presentation but I thought it was pricey $9 for 1 piece but very good . For a main, I tried the Ramen Tonkotsu, pork broth, chashu pork belly, soft boiled egg, scallions, bamboo shoots, kikurage mushroom and nori. It was just ok. My had Wonton Soup with napa cabbage, asparagus, scallions and toasted garlic for a starter. Next, she ordered the Jb Roll, salmon, cream cheese, scallions i/o sesame seeds. Both were good. I've been here several times over the last year and have never been disappointed in the food or service. I have in the past forgotten to take pictures so here ya go. They had a special Strawberry Coconut Margarita which I enjoyed and had to order 2. The spring rolls are really good but it's annoying they only come in 3's whereas other apps come in 4's. The edamame dumplings were very interesting and need the sauce underneath them or soy sauce. The interior is like a mushy pea. Not sure if I will get these again. The vegan ramen soup was so tasty. It's hard to get a table here for dinner. It's so popular, you need a reservation. The service was good. I like that you have a choice of black or green iced tea. The blossom roll was excellent, just beware the jalapeño. The oyakodon was mediocre - it was bland. The sushi platter included items you can't get on the regular menu. It was good and reasonable. The pork belly in the bao bun was very well made. The bao bun would have been better with more vegetables/pickled slaw. The salmon skin handroll was loaded with crispy skin. Inside the restaurant was a little too cool and noisy. We sat outside, which was comfortable. The Marketplace has less flies than they used to. Based on high recommendations from friends, we went to Ganzo for happy hour, which runs from 3 pm to 6pm, and dinner. As we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the host and immediately noticed the light-filled, modern look of the restaurant. We were given 3 menus filled will a large variety of tapas, sushi rolls, and entrees: a happy hour menu, a sunset dinner menu, and the large main menu. And, of course, there was a full drink menu. We selected some drinks, including a lychee martini, mojito and wine. The cocktails run $8 and wine is $7 during happy hour. One person was provided with the wrong drink, which the server promptly corrected. Unfortunately, that same person was charged the regular price rather than the happy hour price. Oops! We shared some salmon rolls, spring rolls, and California rolls from the happy hour menu along with spicy Korean cauliflower, chicken fried rice and sesame chicken from the main menu. All the rolls were flavorful and delicious. The cauliflower was particularly good, with a good crunch and just the right amount of heat. The sesame chicken came with broccoli and had a nice glaze. Very tasty. The chicken fried rice was not up to par as compared to the other items. The entree was dry and we had to add soy sauce to moisten it. The service was very good. The server placed pitchers of water on the table when we sat down and checked on us regularly to be sure everything was satisfactory. There are so many choices on the menu(s) at Ganzo that you cannot visit just once. We generally enjoyed our dining experience with the opportunity to share a variety of dishes. We came on a Wednesday night and there was plenty of seating inside and outside the restaurant. We were seated very quickly and went ahead and ordered. The duck pad Thai was absolutely phenomenal and probably one of the best I've ever had. There was also a lot in the dish as well. We also got two sushi rolls that were very well presented and had a lot of toppings on it. Dropped into this plaza for lunch and decided to give Ganzo a try as Ai had been craving Ramen for some time. I was greeted and escorted to an open table (it was dirty by the way, but a manager quickly caught it, apologized and got me sorted out). The lunch specials are pretty good value and I chose a Miso Ramen for lunch which came with a ginger salad, 6 piece California roll, two gyoza and a big bowl of ramen. It was quite tasty and complimented the tastefully designed dining room which made this experience a great one for me. I loved the lighting and the flower wall. Back again for my third meal here. This time around the food was a bit on the average side. Service was nice though. I got a salmon jalapeno roll and the Twin Devil roll, which is spicy tuna, tempura flakes topped with ahi tuna, jalapenos and kimchee sauce. My wife got the spicy Thai fish and a cocktail. My sushi was just OK. I feel like the quality declined from my last visit, especially the rice which didn't seem fresh (or maybe it was dried out). My wife liked the Thai fish but she said the sauce was overly sweet and tasted like it was from a bottle. Also her bok choy was under seasoned. Overall we both left feeling letdown. This is a sure thing in the Delray Marketplace. The menu is now expanded, service is on point and the food is always fresh. Four of us came for dinner tonight and shared a table full of appetizers that were wonderful. The edamae, shrimp shumai, sushi tuna pizza, spring rolls, California dragon roll... Were just delicious. This was recommended by a friend of a friend... We knew we were going to the Delray Marketplace and still debating where to eat so when this was recommended that made it easy to decide. Parking was easy. Came in a little before 6pm on a weekday. Immediately sat and the server was nice to ask for our drink order quickly so that we could take advantage of the last HH minutes left. Really appreciated that but wish the drinks weren't SO strong. I know... complaining about that is lame but there is such a thing as too strong and unable to drink it. My friend had to also ask for extra simple syrup for her mojito and still didn't drink it. We got the edamame and pork gyoza to start, and they were really good. Once we placed our entrée orders the menus were removed from the table and that gave us the extra needed space for the food. The table we got was rather small. The sushi was delicious and nice presentation but we had to wait a while to get our server's attention again to get soy sauce dishes. Once we got these we were able to enjoy our food. Other than the drinks and the sauce dishes issues, I would also recommend Ganzo Sushi. read more

My new favorite spot for sushi. I would recommend making a reservation as they can get a bit busy especially during dinner, but they have some of the best rolls I have had since moving to south Florida. The rolls are on the larger side and the specialty drinks are also all pretty good. Have gone with my family on a few occasion and never leave disappointed. I had the poke bowl and salad (because I absolutely love ginger dressing)! I had a lychee martini and it was excellent. My friends had the miso soup, it was great but no soup spoons were provided. Her nigiri came out perfect t as well three pieces come with it but I snapped the picture after she ate one. The place is nice and we sat outside. It's in a cute little shopping center so plenty of other shops to hit before or after your stop here. I would say this is more Asian fusion than a specific culture. We have come here a million times and we have our favorite dishes. But some of them got removed by a recent menu change. And with that menu change, some new dishes came. One of them being the Hot Stone Rice Pot. An experience where you mix fried rice, beef bulgogi, vegetables, and a fried egg. It's just as good as it sounds. But their new menu wasn't all unicorns and rainbows. The new, Oyster Pop Roll was a complete disaster. The Salmon Roe, Sauce on top, and the torched salmon were all great components of the dish. But what killed it was the Fried Oysters and the Greens. Not sure what those greens were but they tasted very bitter. But I saved the best for last: Bank! Bank was our waiter. And he was super kind and always had a smile on his face. It was very nice to see customer service so great, as it always is. Also, i've been coming to this restaurant for many, many years. Yet this is this first time I go to Ganzo's bathroom. Just a thing. Anyways, very nice bathroom. In conclusion, I love the Hot Stone Rice Pot, customer service, and their bathroom. Our service was not up to Ganzo standards. We go to this restaurant at least once a week. We waited for our drinks to arrive while the server hung out at the hostess stand. Our food came and we asked for a dish for the soy sauce and we never received it. Our server did not come back to ask us if we needed anything else after waiting for the soy sauce dish. They opened at noon and it was fairly quiet and we were seated right away Our server was Matty and she was very sweet. The menu is very big and there are tons of choices. The had specials for lunch and a nice selection. I had a miso soup, ginger salad, a spring roll, California roll and choice of two half rolls (I had spicy tuna and Mexican). Ganzo is right in the heart of the Delray Marketplace and stands out amongst the other restaurants. There's a fully stocked bar area upon entrance, and you also have the option of indoor or outdoor dining. The interior decor is neat and inviting. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside in an area that has an awning to block the sun. My friend ordered a lychee martini which he sent back because there was a hair in it. I checked in on Yelp and an offer popped up, buy 1 martini, get 1 free. However , it had expired and the manager would not honor it. She said they need to remove it from Yelp. Not great service. We asked the waiter to stagger bringing out my friend's food, however they brought out all 3 of his dishes at the same time while my other friend and I had no food. One of the best Asian eateries in Delray Beach. Same owner as Lemongrass in Mizner Park so expect the food to be quality. I've been here 3 times and it's always on point. From the service, and cocktails to the food, they make sure that their customers are happy. That's why they're always packed. My favorite tapas are the Lava Stone Wagyu, Nana's Wings KFC and al the Baos especially the Softshell Crab. Everything is absolutely delish and perfect for sharing. Also, the Yellowtail Jalapenos are to die for. Super fresh and very tasty. As for Sushi, I always get the Surf N Turf Roll and the Lobster Bomb Roll. OMG. Both are highly addictive. If you don't like sushi then try one of their Ramen bowls or the Thai Style Sweet Chili Fish. Trust me, you won't be disappointed at any of their dishes. For dessert, must try the Japanese Cheesecake or the Chocolate Lava with Green Tea Ice Cream. Either one will satisfy your tummy. Love this place. Also, there's plenty of parking. The first time I was in the area, I came and enjoyed the Ramen lunch special. My partner enjoyed the sushi bento box lunch special, and we both raved about our experience. Since we are back in the area, we made Ganzo our first stop. The food was just as good as we remembered but the service was horrendous. The lunch crowd at the time was 5-7 tables (ours included) and the restaurant was well-staffed. Everyone else seemed to have excellent services, meanwhile ours was nowhere to be found. Ever. We were constantly flagging down other servers for simple things like water, utensils, and the check. Thankfully the other servers were kind and helpful. As for the food, it is delicious. The lunch special boasts bento boxes and ramen bowls for under $18 that come with sides like miso soup, a house salad, and california rolls or gyoza (potstickers).
