He wanted me to pay before the posts from my old fence were buried (which I had written into the contract) and thus anyone walking barefoot/or my dogs would cut their foot badly if they stepped on them. Update: The wife/owner of the business called me re. the above review. She was eager to make things right. Thus I revised this review and upped my rating.

Due to our Chicago weather, many of the posts were rotting out, so it was time to replace. I called that same company for an estimate. They came out, but did not spend a lot of time with me; I was debating between purchasing another wood fence or an aluminum fence. We have a very large backyard so this would be a big project. I also called Paramount for an estimate. The salesman we had was Laura. She spent more than 45 minutes discussing where the Fence should go, how it would look with the house, and the differences between wood and aluminum. Paramount was a little bit higher in price compared to our old company, but the big difference was the expertise and professionalism! Laura was so detailed oriented and continued even after the deposit was made to keep us updated on the progress of our project, due to gates having to be special ordered. It has only been six weeks since installation, so I cannot comment on long-term durability, but I can comment on their initial work. We had a great flood on the Fourth of July, which was only three days after installation! My husband and I were having an anxiety attack since you're not supposed to even open the gate for two or three days after installation. As you can see in the video, the Fence held. If this is a testament on the quality of material and installation, I don't know what could be. I highly recommend Paramount Fence, and a big thank you to Laura for making this experience seamless!

Trusting his word that they were found, I paid him and subsequently hired him to build a fence. However, when he returned to mark the yard for the city, it became clear the pins were never actually located. His markings were significantly off and did not match my official property survey--at one point, his 'guess' even marked my own trampoline as being outside my property line. He began digging in multiple areas, including near my neighbor's property, without any certainty of where the lines were. When confronted, he admitted in writing that this was his first time performing this service and that the results were incorrect. While he refunded my $500 fence deposit, he refused to refund the $100 for the failed pin service. Following this, his communication became incredibly unprofessional. Homeowners beware: Incorrect property markings can lead to serious legal disputes with neighbors or city code violations. If I had built my fence based on his markings, it would have been a disaster. I strongly recommend hiring a qualified professional for property lines and being very cautious before hiring this business.

He made suggestions to improve durability and aesthetics which we incorporated, and it turned out far better than we expected. We went with a composite deck and a Cedar fence.
