Food looked like it was sitting there all day and not fresh at all. Ill be the first to say that I did not have a great time in the bathroom when I got home from this restaurant. The avocados on the sushi were oxidated, which should give you an idea about how long its been sitting there in the open. Little to no options to eat. Your better off eating Panda Express which is cheaper and more fresh than this place. Hibachi? Your better off spending a little more and getting your moneys worth at a better and more traditional japanese spot. The service was bare minimum and to top it off they force you to tip, even though everyone knows its optional. It was only two of us that ate and the total came out to $50 or so. I don't recommend it here, the food was not quality, to begin the sushi was old, the rice was dry. The hot options seemed to be from the day before, they do not replenish the food between the day. I saw craw fish sitting in dirty water which was very disturbing. Then I noticed that they had a sign stating that you'd be charged for not finishing your meal, as someone who struggles with appetite this was very anxiety inducing because some days I just get full faster then others. And lastly, they force you to tip, or at least put you in a very uncomfortable position where you can't say NO. The lady asked me 15/20/25%? Overall, the place is clean and the staff is nice. The food did not look incredibly appetizing and the taste was OK. The sushi rice was really hard, as if it had been sitting for a long time. The orange chicken was pretty good and so was the fried wonton. Other than that, everything else was just meh. The price was very reasonable, other than having to choose between a 15%, 18%, or 20% tip, for what amounted to a soda brought to the table and one dirty plate picked up. My sister and I ate the sushi and sashimi, some tempura veggies, some spring rolls and gyosas. All were great! After, we ordered some habachi, which was cooked in front of us. Tuna looked good but after a couple Pieces i noticed pink color dripping down the plate. Came @8 pm And it was as if they had 2 of each roll that had been there from dinner at 5pm. Sorry but no just ate there and honestly with 2 people one had water other a Pepsi bill was $54. First time ever server handed me the bill and pointed to the tip amounts and stood and watched till I put an amount in. I asked where to put amount and she repeated 15, 18, or 20%. Came here while on vacation and the food was amazing and the service was incredible. That vacation was 1 year ago and when we moved here we have been coming back at least 2 or 3 times a month. It's very nice and quaint and the staff go out of their way to make you comfortable and to enjoy your food. The energy is very low light and calming. The sushi chefs are behind the counter making the sushi as you take it and when a plate is empty it will be taken out of your table by the time you get back from getting more food. 10/10 Best all you can eat sushi and hibachi I have been to while living in Miami. read more

I really enjoyed my Saturday night dinner-date with my daughter. She is the one that came across it and we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did. When we walked in they gave us masks (we had forgotten ours) and require customers to put on gloves. The staff was so nice and welcoming. The place was clean and the food was tasty. Normally I wouldn't go back to a place I give a poor rating, but being across the street from my office and seeing a bunch of glowing five star reviews I figured I'd try it once more. As with my previous experience half a decade ago nothing was fresh, even though there were plenty of people in the restaurant as it was peak lunch hour, it wasn't because of low turnover. Rolls were small, mostly rice and other filler, the hot food was pretty bland as well. Service was good however, but one doesn't come to a buffet for service. The service is amazing the servers are very nice they provided waters fast wich is always a plus. The food is amazing the umami flavor is top notch. I tried aki multiple times, it's nice and very affordable. I like the ambience and staff there. The food is good and the sushi range is yummy. I give this place three and a half stars. The moment you walk in you don't get that sticky feeling and the walls are not greasy. The place looks nicely decorated, it's double the size of Ichiban buffet but probably the same amount of food selection. We came in at 5:30 on a Thursday for dinner and there wasn't a lot of people, so the food were ehh... It wasn't hot and I knew it was probably the left over from lunch. If you want to eat here, don't come exactly when they open, come later. The oysters didn't taste so fresh and the snow crab didn't snap so well. They didn't have hot sauce for the oysters only sriracha sauce. The only thing I enjoyed was probably the miso soup, ice cream, and the hibachi grill. It cost us $17.95 per adult. My husband wanted to go back to this restaurant. So we took our friend with us to eat here. It was Thursday night and when we walked in, there were almost empty. I know since it's not busy, they really didn't fill the food much. Some food looked stale and my friend tried BBQ rib and it was too hard and dry. I tried a few stir fried food but they were not even warm. I was disappointed. Also I tried some udon but they didn't even have chopped green onions anymore. It was bit bland. TLDR - Stretchy pants are the most suitable Aki Japanese Buffet is one of the buffets around Miami that I think has more variety than the others. It's also a lot more spread out and you don't feel cluttered with other people as you're walking through. They have a large selection of rolls, hot entrees, soups, desserts, and a hibachi station where you fill a plate with as much as you want. I am not a fan of buffets but this place is a good find. The sushi looked fresh and the men making the rolls were helpful and Nice. The fried rice add tasty and not to much soy sauce. The sautéed mushroom were pretty great and they have several soups to choose from. The only thing I see a bit discouraging was the man making the stir fry.
