I have nothing to say about place but that it is of my pure opinion that this place is "SHADY! SHADY! SHADY! Do not waste your time or money at this place. I'm sure you have heard of that movie, " The Boiler Room" Thats the character of their top gun salesman Mike. He can sell ice to an Eskimo in the winter. I quote " Here at Akbar Service, we have been here for 40 yrs. We only have specialist and we do not put USED parts on our cars. Our parts are brand new Mercedes parts made by Pierburg. If you buy your own parts we cant give our warranty. Was out of town, Akbar requested to tow my car. Told them that l would ONLY pay $50.00 being under the impression that Akbar Service was located 1/2 a block down the street on Benson st. Of which they claim they have no affiliation. They had my car 3 weeks and never gave me a written diagnostic report. Could have switched my engine or transmission and I would have never known. The original estimate was about $3200.00. Was told that the dealership would charge $6,000.00. After verifying prices online. They went down to $1,700.00, then down to $1,188.00. Upon completion my car started smoking and my engine check light is still on. (I believe that l gave them $1,100.00 for nothing.) Requested to be notified when the part arrived so to see the box being opened and wanted to be there when they were working on my car. Never got any calls. Just had a master tune up a couple of months ago by someone else and had not driven the car. Watched him change all of the filters and my oil is all of a sudden dark. Have 3 career military cousins that live in Germany and have no problem contacting manufacturer. Im calling the BBB, Kamala Harris , Federal Trade Commission, Consumer Protection, Bureau Of Automotive Repair, Ripoff.com and any other agencies that need to be notified. Took my bmw to Akbar service because my car was heating up. They changed me 1800 to fix the problem. Less than a week later the same problem, I've taken my car back 3 times within a month. Took the car back again, now they are telling me it's the engine then why didn't you tell me that before I gave you 1800. They gave me back 250.00 to take the car to a BMW dealership. I work at San Antonio hospital and when my car didn't start, Dr. Mantha told me to take my car to the Akbar Service on Foothill & Campus. She told me they had been in business 40 years and had fixed her and her family's cars for over 20 years. I towed my Mercedes C300 and even the tow guy said this is the best place in town. I was instantly relieved. Being a new nurse, I don't exactly have a lot of money to put into repairs, and so I waited in suspense to find out what was wrong. Of course I have heard horror stories about how expensive Mercedes repairs can be. Well, to my delight they called me at lunch and told me my car was ready and all they had to do was reset the code. The technician explained everything and the owner Mike Sr. told me to have a nice day and there was no charge for the repair!! I love you guys at Akbar Service Foothill. Look no further! We all have horror stories about taking our beloved cars to get repaired. My 2002 Benz CLK430 Convertible had issues, such a PMS-ing Prima Donna, she wouldn't smog! I thought I had major issues with her and Robert the MB Specialist there sat down with me and explained all the things he was going to do for a diagnostics test, then drive it around with his laptop to check off every detail. BTW, Robert is incredibly knowledgeable and knows his stuff, more than anyone I've ever known. He even knew the quirky & inherent behaviors of my beloved. He took her out and ran each diagnostic to hit each mark and I didn't have to drive it for 500, 800 or 1000 miles, then hope I had sufficiently satisfied each mark. Nope, Robert was so good that he did it in 60 miles! Knowledge! Not only that, he did some fine tuning and she roars! She's now smogged, tagged and legal again! So let me start off by saying this was the best experience I have had IN THE INLAND EMPIRE with servicing my 2017 Mercedes C300. Everyone here is so friendly and they always get me serviced quickly. When I first started coming here, they informed me that the previous auto shop I was going to was using lower grade oil filters, and the guys here were able to replace it with a Mercedes certified oil filter, FOR THE SAME COST. I really hate I have to leave this review, but enough is enough! I'm on my 3rd Benz. Over the years my husband has been going to Arbar for all maintenance and repair needs. Honestly, my gut feelings kept telling me they're all about the dollar. However, two stars for doing good work. We have never had an issue with the quality of the work. Last year, I told Mike that I was smelling gas. He informed me that we were putting too much gas in the car. I stopped filling my tank up and the smell subsided. Moving forward, my car wouldn't start. My son and I was stranded 30 miles away. My car was towed by AM PM, which is a great tow company and Charlie was awesome! (check their listing for my review). After Robert checked my car, he said I needed a fuel pump tank unit on both sides. The charge would be $2,625. Shocked, I called Mercedes Auto Repair. Oscar advised me that the fuel tank should be under warranty and to go to Mercedes Benz dealership. Happily, I called Charlie back. The dealership said I had a leak. Because the fuel tank is under warranty they replaced it with no charge. Thanks Akbar for all the years your hands were in our pockets. I went in to get my brakes changed and to look into a clicking sound. Front brakes, rotors and sensors were changed. they suggested control arm bushing, so I got that fixed as well. Over 1100 dollars laters I have new brakes that make a screeching sound and the clicking still persist. On top of that, the people in the front desk are constantly busy. I have to wait just to be noticed, then wait even longer just to pay my bill. read more

SHADY...SHADY... SHADY.. SHADY BUSINESS!!!! My son took his BMW in to Akbar Service on 8/23/2019 for a Slight coolant smell with no visible coolant leaking on the floor or in the motor area. Once they diagnosed it, they told my son it had a hole in the Radiator hose But they would also need to do a Pressure test after replacing the hose. Upon the Pressure testing now the car needed the Coolant Valley Pan replaced..at a cost of over $2,100.. Fast forward to 9/5/2019 My son called at 12:50 pm and asked if the car was ready. He was told they needed to do a stress test on it and it would be a few hours. At 2:29 Robert the Mechanic called my son and said the engine had locked up and " would not turn over" My son had his father call and talk to the Manger/ Owner Eric and Robert the Mechanic (on Speaker phone) and they said the car had looked up and they needed to bore scope it and they thought it was the Timing Chain that locked it up. But with their camera they could not see the entire timing chain and did not know how far they wanted to go to find out why but, would try to figure out what happened. I called and spoke with Eric the Manager and he put me on speaker phone with him and Eric the Mechanic . I told him they must have done something wrong. Maybe no coolant/water for the motor to lock up. He told me you DONT need water OR Coolant in the motor to run. They did NOTHING wrong for the motor to lock up! I asked him what time did they find out the motor locked up at. He stated some time in the morning and he and the other mechanic's went to lunch at 12:00 and discussed why it would have locked up. I asked how could you do a stress text at 12:50 pm ( as was told to my son) If you knew before 12:00 the motor was locked. I Spoke with the owner Mike SR and they will not fix the car. He Stated what work they performed had nothing to do with the motor locking up and I need a NEW Timing Chain and Really to Fix it a New Motor. We will be at the shop in the morning to tow the car out of Akbar. When the car went in there is was running perfect, never over heated just had a slight coolant smell and now the motor is seized. The Mgr/owner Eric and his father Mike and there 2 mechanics Robert and Eric are very Rude and Disrespectful. Very unprofessional company. They like to talk in circles because what they are saying is a lie..This has been reported to BBB & Bureau of automotive repair. Next step taking them to court.. read more

I would be very careful to get an estimate of what is needed to take it to other shops, such as Upland Mercedes Repair, to see if they can match it.
