I went to this auto shop to get a second diagnostic on my car after my original mechanic replaced my transmission for $4,200. I was referred to this shop by my son-in-law. When I picked up my car from my original mechanic after the transmission was replaced, I noticed it was making strange noises, felt very sluggish, and lacked power. I went to Green's Auto Shop and spoke with Jim, who told me the mechanic wanted to keep the car for about 10 days to perform a thorough bumper-to-bumper inspection. Jim later reached out and explained that the transmission was slipping badly, the engine fan was loose and causing the rattling noise, and the strumming noise indicated additional repairs were needed. I explained to Jim that I had paid over $4,200 to my original mechanic for a used transmission. He informed me that if I had come to him first, he could have installed a brand-new transmission for about the same price. I am very disappointed that I spent so much money only for my car to have the same problems--and even more. I truly appreciate Jim and everyone at his shop for helping me. This review is based of the fact that they would not accept customer provided parts. They explained they couldn't provide warranty for customer provided parts which I already knew because that's common sense. If I was willing to acknowledge they wouldn't provide warranty they should've welcomed the work. I'm extremely familiar with mechanic work and could've done the job myself but I twist a wrench for a living and don't feel like doing it when I get home. My a/c was not working in the summer and I went in circles with Honda during lock down on whether or not my car was under warranty. They couldn't tell me if it was until months later after I hit the miles that placed me outside of warranty then slapped me a bill of 3k. Well. I decided to take my business elsewhere. I found this place as an installer for Airlift Airbag suspension for my truck I use for towing. Once they installed the suspension I noticed the compressor kept going off randomly at all hours of the night so I notified them that there was a leak within a week of install. The leak caused my brand new trucks batteries (has 2 linked not just one) to die. After AAA jumping me and buying a mobile battery jumper I took it in for them to look at and fix. Their solution? To charge me full price for 2 batteries and labor. These clowns thought I would pay another $500+ dollars after they caused 100 percent of the issue. Called Airlift and notified them to not allow this shady place to represent their name. I'm currently suing this company for damages and loss of time for making me deal with this crap. Wouldn't piss on this shop if it was on fire. $1900 on bags that still don't work $500 on new batteries $250 on a mobile battery jumper for a 3500 ram dually (2020 year) $400 loss of wages for a day read more

KEEPS GETTING WORSE. Wow, no one can fess up for making a mistake here. Anyone notice the pattern goes 1 star or 5 stars for these guys? I brought my car in 3 times for the SAME issue that began with a timing belt going out (which does call for serious repairs). I grew up in the car industry; myself, my brother and my dad all concluded that during my valve job someone failed to removed the cylinder head properly thus damaging the bottom end. The first day I started my car after the job was done a GIANT plume of white smoke came out of the exhaust (which persisted everyday thereafter) and a check engine light. I took it back to Green and brought my brother where we ran through every possible scenario - Green denied there being a liability. All trust was out the door after that so I took my car to another shop only to find that the fresh spark plugs done by Green were already oxidized. I must have put another $1500 dollars into this f***ing GREAT car trying to save it AFTER spending nearly $3000 at Greens. Even the timing belt COVER was installed incorrectly. THEN when I had a valve job done I also asked them to please rotate the tires and check the brakes. I got an estimate for $375 to replace the pads and calipers and machine the rotors. I wasn't happy with their price (or prior work) so I took my car to another mechanic. He called me later asking for the key to my wheels, since they are after market, and when I told him where it was, he said it was the wrong key. APPARENTLY when I asked Green's to rotate the tires, they switched my key with someone else's and initially refused to bring the key to the other mechanic. Eventually they did, but NO ONE called to APOLOGIZE for the mistake. Now the kicker... the other mechanic informed me the problems was not the calipers, but that the pins were merely rusty, and needed some lube. No one investigated the actual problem, they just "replace" everything at the consumer's expense. So my total from the other guy? $189.08 By the way, a week after my valve job was complete, my check engine light came on AGAIN. read more

Gave them a second chance even though last time they didn't tighten lug nuts properly and tire fell off on the freeway. Dropped car off at 8 am. Was told they'd look at issue and call me in an hour or so. I called back 4 1/2 hours later to check for update. Was told everyone was at lunch so I said I'd just come and pick up my Jeep. Got a call 45 minutes later from owner saying jeep was ready. Never got an estimate or anything. Picked up jeep. Was charged $110. Nothing was fixed (AC fan not blowing properly ) read more

As a registered Professional Mechanical Engineer with past motorcycle racing experience I know a thing or two about motor vehicles and public safety. I have known Mr. Green for more years than the negative-posting respondents have been alive (maybe 2x longer). I have also discussed the negative allegations with Mr. Green and can say that it appears many significant details were left out considering the past origin and service duty of the vehicles in question ( hurricane total loss and beat-up street racer). In my opinion, these children have grossly misrepresented their issues and bitten the hand of a generous person who was trying to help them out. Nevertheless, I have referred many friends and family to Mr. Green over the years with zero complaints and many complements. Mr. Green is running an honest, family-owned business which is very reasonably priced, and stands behind his work. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!! DO NOT COME HERE! Chuck is so horrible. My girlfriend tried to get here car inspected and they tried to make her pay 186 for doing NOTHING! Literally nothing. She made her appointment at 8am and they did not contact her for 6 hours stating what was wrong with the car. When she dropped it off she signed NOTHING stating it was going to be 120 to "evaluate" the car. No contracts were signed and he didn't even verbally say a cost to look at it...wtf? Anyways, so the car had been in the shop for hours when my gf called Chuck on the phone and he said they are just now looking at it (about 6 hours later) and will give her a call in 20 minutes stating what was wrong... one hour later still no call. She called back and he was giving her major attitude for no reason. So, 2 hours later I dropped my girlfriend off to pick up her car and he says her total is 120 for inspection and that he "fixed" her engine light for another 70?? Greens never had our permission to fix that for an extra $70! They had never called and confirmed or had her blessing to do something for a cost.That is so messed up! She was in tears. College students don't have $186 to throw around! We came back and said we need our keys because we were not aware of the cost, and had signed NOTHING (no paperwork or contracts like how a normal business runs)! Chuck at the front was giving us major attitude again and tried to play dumb because he knew he was wrong and what they did was illegal. He told us to never come back, and I quote he said the words, "Don't ever come back here again." Yes, he truly said that to our faces...and guess what buddy... we will never ever will. Of course he told us to never come back, he knew he was scamming us and felt embarrassed... it's a defense mechanism. I felt as if he treated us even more awful because we were girls, too. Too bad we know A LOT more than you assume, Chuck. He was so incredibly rude and condescending toward us throughout the whole experience. The nerve of this guy is an absolute joke. Change your business, change the attitude. Please stay away from this place. This is our second horrible experience. Awful customer service and awful business. ALSO, we went to get a free evaluation at another place AND Greens INCORRECTLY diagnosed the car! Greens said it was something WAY more expensive than what the actual problem is. Being a women I always worry about being taken advantage of when it comes to cars. I mean I have no idea when it comes to what's going on. My brakes were squeaking and it smelled like I had a fuel leak so I brought my Audi in to be looked at. Jimmy was so nice and took my car and called me promptly the next day. He let me know my problem was due to a recall on my car and it could fix it but he recommended that I try to get it fixed at the dealership first. The dealer fixed it under the warranty and Jimmy saved me $900! Also he let me know my brakes were fine after others told me I needed them replaced. So refreshing for someone to be so honest. The names and items will be changed because the victims did not want to complain because they know the people that swindled them. Victim number one had a problem with his oven. Went to Reds oven repair to get it fixed. Mr Red said "this is your problem and I will fix for this much. He fixed. Victim paid took oven home. Problem was still there. Went back to Reds. Mr Red said OH I am so glad we fixed the problem because it made the real problem obvious. I will fix it for this amount. Victim sadly paid and took oven home. It seemed ok. One month later oven missed up again. Something different. Victim went to Reds who diagnosed the problem and gave an estimate to Victim who paid and took oven home. Problem continued so Victim went back to Reds who said I am so glad we fixed the first problem because it exposed your real problem. I will fix it for this much. Victim now feeling like he was being taken reluctantly agreed and paid the amount. He took his oven home, A couple days later the oven breaks down. One of the parts that was removed in one of the repairs breaks off and damages the oven badly. Victim calls Mr Red who says bring it in if it was anything we did we will take care of you. Mr Reds checks oven out and calls Victim with the following story. It was not anything we did. It just happened. I will fix your problem for this very large amount. Victim has had enough. He repeats the entire story above to Mr Green..... I mean Red who finally maybe has a touch of remorse or maybe even gulp conscience tells Victim bring your car.... My son is a USMC stationed in Camp Pendleton. He had a 1993 Toyota truck and the engine went. He was going to scrap it but the body and interior were still great.
