I don't normally leave reviews unless my experience was really good, really bad, or just odd. This is a mix of odd and not so great.
I'll first start by saying that I booked something from an IG promo. Initially the correspondence seemed fine, she even texted how to get to her location with a "how to" video. Earned a point there.
Upon arrival, the owner seemed a bit cold and told me immediately to have a seat at her front reception area (which I did) and she didn't say a word for about 4-6 mins while she checked & texted on her phone. I wasn't that early, maybe just 5 mins before my appointment time. She later then asked my name and proceeded to tell me the price (which needed to be paid in cash) which was already agreed and discussed in our initial contact.
It was just odd that she didn't ask about my goals, what I was trying to achieve, how I found her, etc. Then mentioned price again, which I asked if I needed to pay BEFORE the service. She said yes and took my cash. Another oddity that you don't pay after the treatment is performed?
While I can't really say for sure if the service of her facial was good, it did feel good and the room was nicely appointed with lovely music and a comfy warming table. What was odd is that she never explained the procedure itself or what was being done (most facialists will be like "okay, next I'm doing XX, which does XX to your skin, you might feel XX"), she only told me that one part was going to feel like a slight shock, which it did. Beyond that, she was totally silent.
She then left me in the room for a good 20-30 mins after she did her thing to soak in red light or whatever it was, and it ended with a nice massage/lymphatic drainage on my tummy. I can't say the service itself was bad, it was just an overall weird experience.
I asked her to please validate my parking and she said she didn't do that. So I thought, okay well maybe it's a cheap lot. Wrong! For a 1 hr appt, it was $15. I feel like she should've told her clients the rate before parking - it's misleading and you feel a little gypped that you paid for overpriced parking, not knowing she did not validate. First time I've experienced this in any spa!
Needless to say, I won't be going back and maybe it's a language barrier thing (I think native tongue is Portuguese) but first impressions do count, and I feel like she couldn't care less if I came back or not.
Again her treatment felt fine, it was just an odd atmosphere that made you not feel very welcomed and I also felt really mislead with the overpriced $15 parking. read more
