AJS went beyond my expectations! As a small business owner myself, I appreciate when a company is honest, timely, and goes the extra mile. Steve not only fixed our ongoing sprinkler issue within hours, he then came back to help us set up our sprinkler system and make sure everything was working correctly. During the meeting, we discovered he also did outdoor audio and voilà, we had an outdoor stereo system in less than a week. My neighbors even love the nightly concert, LOL, the sound is amazing! If you're looking for great service, sound advice, and a fair price, I highly recommend them! read more

AJS Sprinkler is dedicated to quality, and affordable. We highly recommend them. We called for repair to the front and back. The systems were broken and required hand-watering. Their knowledgeable team arrived on time to assess our situation. They determined that both yards needed new controls. The front had parts still functional, saving some money. The back needed an entirely new system. AJS team installed the new system exactly how we wanted it: perfect configuration of sprayers everywhere using high-quality parts with powerful flow. The new system is amazing! The plants are fully watered now -- not just a trickle here and there. Steve and his team went the extra mile for us, ensuring good water coverage everywhere, and that we were fully satisfied with their work. We appreciate their integrity and expertise very much. read more

I recently had a broken sprinkler line and tree root issue that needed to be fixed. I called AJS sprinkler repair. Kenny and Danny came over a few days later and went right to work carefully digging and cutting away the tree roots and repairing the broken sprinkler line. Kenny was professional, knowledgeable, personable and patient. They repaired it in no time and the cost was less than I expected. I highly recommend AJS Sprinkler Inc. I will definitely call them again if I need to. Thank you Kenny and Danny! read more

Steve and Matt came out to Repair our sprinkler manifold and repair many of our sprinkler heads and replace our sprinkler Box. All in all a great experience. Steve and Matt were very thorough in their work and Steve was very thorough in his explanation of his work. Steve was dealing with my elderly in laws and was very patient with them. I appreciated that very much. Steve came recommended to me and i wasent disappointed. Thanks Matt, Thanks Steve for all your hard work. read more

I had a fantastic experience with AJS Sprinkler service. They were incredibly knowledgeable and helped identify an issue with my timer that I had not noticed. They also replaced a few sprinkler heads and made sure everything was running smoothly. Their professionalism and friendly service really stood out. So we recently moved into a new home and although the home came with irrigation and sprinklers I was having issues with them. During rain season I would get areas of water pooling all over my yard and back yard. Then during summer, the sprinklers and drip system that the builder installed seemed weak and inadequate. My wife and I decided to take on a recent project of changing the plants and adding new plants around our property. We wanted to bring on a professional to make sure our system was the best it could be so we wouldn't have to worry about it for years to come. We looked around but ultimately went with AJS Sprinkler. A lot of the other companies seemed push and too "corporate". When I got in contact with AJS they had a more personal vibe. I spoke with Steve and he offered to come by and check things out first before recommending anything. He was so easy to talk to, I didn't feel intimidated nor did I feel like I was getting a sales talk. I found out it was a local family business so I knew the work done was going to be top notch because it would be his reputation on the line. What was shocking during Steve's inspection of the setup that came with the house was how weak it was. You figure a new construction home with the prices they are selling for would come with a much better setup. Couple of lines were pinched, unnecessary runs, and other sprinkler jargon I didn't know about until Steve educated me. So in the end we got several new runs of drip and sprinklers put in, fixed existing ones, AND he fixed the drainage issue I had around my property. Now everything is being watered properly and during the last rain season I no longer had any issues of pooling water. I'm glad I went with AJS and I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for similar work. Thanks Steve! read more

2 person crew worked for 1hour. They replaced a drip irrigation valve and repaired a leak. The total cost of the replacing equipment was approximately $100.00. My bill was $850. They do good work but are not inexpensive. read more

I reached out to this company (and 2 others) via phone and email through their website for repair to my drip irrigation system. They did not even have the courtesy of giving me a call back. Don't bother with them, try someone else. read more

I began a backyard project in September and needed to reroute and cap off my irrigation before pool construction could begin. I contacted AJS Sprinkler and arranged for them to complete the job. Steve, (owner) and two others arrived went to work, and not only completed the job to my complete satisfaction, but Steve found other areas of my irrigation that were leaking and failing to efficiently irrigate my landscape. Steve and crew completed those repairs as well and my landscape and I couldn't be happier. Through casual conversation with Steve, I discovered AJS Sprinkler also does backyard lighting and audio which was going to be the next phase of our project. My wife and I shared our vision with Steve which was to create a very inviting and ambient environment that my family and I could enjoy during our beautiful summer evenings. Steve made several suggestions, arranged to have his lighting and audio vendor, Victor M. meet us at our home to confirm our vision. Once our pool was completed, Steve, Victor, Matt, and Kenny arrived and completed our backyard lighting and audio project in two days. My wife wanted to illuminate the front of our home to include the second story which Steve and crew also took care of. The end result was beyond our expectations and the patience and professionalism shown by Steve and crew was exceptional. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the outcome and placement of the lighting has created a very ambient, relaxing, and inviting environment. In addition, the audio equipment that included a blue tooth compatible transformer, four speakers, and subwoofer create theater like sound which is the icing on the cake. If you're looking for a landscape contractor that specializes in irrigation, lighting, audio, and so much more, I recommend AJS Sprinkler Inc. without exception. Steve and his crew are highly professional, competent, honest and trustworthy, and the price quoted per job is the price paid regardless of the time or effort required to complete the project. I won't ever look beyond AJS Sprinkler for my landscaping needs as Steve and crew are now my absolute Go-To. Give them a call and you won't be disappointed. read more

Steve and his crew member were amazing. Our sprinkler system wasn't turning on after several attempts by other handymen. Steve knew immediately what the issue was, repaired the system and reset the zones and timing. He took the time to explain exactly what needed to be repaired and the cost/time of the repairs. I thought the cost was fair for the work involved. I would never go anywhere else for my sprinkler repairs in the future. Plus they are a small local business which I like to support! Great job AJS and thank you. read more

Great company. On time. Polite. But most importantly they did an excellent job installing irrigation in our backyard. Very pleased.

Nothing but amazing service, communication and work by AJS Sprinkler! I would recommend them to anyone. Steve and his crew were amazing to work with. Straight forward communication and they really took pride in their work. We had a pool put in our backyard and Steve and his team came in and helped us get our yard back up and running. They even went through our current sprinklers in the front and made it work better. Thank you all! read more

We bought a house sight unseen and of course the drip system had problems when we moved in. Neighbors told us AJS was the way to go and they were right. I was terrified it would be a huge bill but for less than $1000 they were able to test all three valves and both zones, repair all the broken sprinkler heads, dig up damaged tubing and replace dozens of feet of line, teach me how to program appropriately, And answer all my questions. I couldn't ask for more and a service provider. I will definitely use them again for any sprinkler service needs. read more

I couldn't be more pleased with the customer service and expertise of this team! The technicians who serviced my sprinklers were Steve and Troy. I was having an issue with my automated timer not communicating with a specific system within the sprinkler grid and they fixed the issue as well as helped me figure out how to stop unnecessarily watering a part of my yard that is soon to be nothing but rocks. Overall all my questions were answered and they went ABOVE any BEYOND to be kind to my very curious 3-year-old who wanted to be involved in the entire experience! They emphasized educating me about my system, names of parts, how all the pieces work together, what automatic timing does, etc. and this part of their service is invaluable to me. This company has absolutely gained our patronage for life. Thanks AJS! read more

32 years ago when we moved here I had numerous companies out to find this incredible leak. None seem to be successful . I was digging everywhere myself to find it . So AJS came out and found it immediately . So now for decades every time I have a problem I go to them. They are the only company in my 78 years of existence I will trust Plus Gayle and Kenny are quality high class people. read more

I needed a very old Drip feed valve+reducer and timer replaced. AJS showed up on time as promised and performed the task in little time. It wasn't cheap but they were very upfront about the cost and they worked with me on a couple items. They also made room in their schedule to see me on very short notice. I'm happy with the clean and professional installation of the timer on my inside garage wall and the additional time they spent showing me how to program it. read more

Steve and his guys were great to deal with. I got quoted a price and when they were done it was less. They fixed all my sprinkler problems and even set up my system. I couldn't be happier. They went above and beyond. Thanks Steve!!! read more

The two men were here less than an hour and it cost $395. It really was just a one man job. Do the math. That means $200 per man an hour and I know there is overhead, but that is a mighty steep charge for what seemed like a pretty easy fix. read more

AJS Sprinkler was more expensive than other companies I received quotes from but I decided to go with them based on the reviews about the quality of work and their customer service. Unfortunately, they failed to meet my expectations and this was doubly disappointing given that they are higher priced than their competition. My sprinkler system had many broken heads and hadn't been checked for a few years. Water was also not coming out of one set of sprinklers. So I decided to use AJS to update the broken sprinkler heads and conduct a general check-up. After their initial visit, they found a faulty valve which they fixed. They also replaced all the broken heads and the system seemed to be working fine. However, only three months later, I came home one evening to find half my yard flooded and the sprinklers flowing uncontrollably. It was 630PM and I immediately called AJS. I could not reach anyone in any of their offices (if you engage them you'll find extreme reluctance to provide a direct phone number to a human). I searched my invoice and past emails desperately but could not find any way to reach a human. My house also did not have an obvious shut-off valve that I could find, adding to my stress (I asked my neighbors and no one could find it). I sent emails and left messages, but in the end, had to let the sprinklers flow all night. This killed me given California's recent water shortages. The next morning, AJS called me back and apologized for the situation, but defended not providing me any recourse in an emergency situation. Gayle - the person that called me - said that if she was reachable after close of business, she wouldn't have work/life balance. I do respect that, but I would expect a company with this reputation and at this price point to at least have an answering service or some way for customers to triage after-hours emergencies. I proceeded to ask her about the issue and she sent someone out to diagnose the problem. Not right away of course - because her teams had jobs they had to conduct that day - but at the end of the day! Once again, at this price point, I was unpleasantly surprised by their priorities. Finally, when the person came out and inspected the system, I was told this was an issue with one of the valves AJS hadn't hadn't touched - and not with the two valves they had fixed. I found that surprising given the sprinkler system hadn't had a leak for years before this and then suddenly had a massive leak only 3 months after they came out to fix it. Of course, one area where they were very proactive was when it came to providing me the estimate for "fixing the faulty valve." Does the story end there? No. On that same call, I asked Gayle to help me identify where the shutoff valve was in case something like this were to happen again. She confidently told me that the house did not have one and provided me with yet another expensive estimate to have one installed. At this point, I had lost trust in Gayle and AJS and asked a contractor that had done previous work for me about the shut-off valve. He came out and showed me where I could shut off the water from - it wasn't attached to the house but was found in the ground. Once again, I would have expected AJS - with their years of experience working with sprinkler systems - to point that out to me. The same contractor also told me that the previous leak was from one of the "newer" valves. He had no idea I had used AJS - leading me to conclude that Gayle and AJS had lazily decided to take the path of least liability on the root cause of the leak so that they wouldn't have to cover the cost of additional work to fix an issue they created. Though he's not a sprinkler contractor, I trust my contractor's motives - and therefore opinion - over those of AJS. He didn't charge me a dime for coming out to help me with my issue. In the end, my experience with AJS led me to the following conclusions: - their quality of work does not warrant the price they charge; - they will not be there for customers in emergency situations (consistent theme with the other yelp reviews); - they are not thorough or forthcoming with their diagnoses and will shift blame to owners or other parties to avoid responsible follow-up to their mistakes. I would avoid using this company mainly because they are not trustworthy and egregiously prioritize profit over customer service. I also know from an actual distressing personal experience that they will not be there for you should something go wrong. read more

Fast, thorough, professional, and a pleasure to work with. They quickly troubleshot my issues and fixed for minimal cost. We've had them come out a couple of times and they've been great. Gayle (Gail? Sorry if I spelled your name incorrectly!) is fantastic as well - I wanted them to come out a third time for an urgent issue, but they were booked out for at least a week. Gayle walked me through a potential quick fix and things to look at , which proved valuable. We'll call them again for sprinkler issues that I'm sure will continue to happen. read more

It has been a while since we used AJS sprinkler. But, they were really good. So, I wanted to write a review; even if it's late. We had some questions about our sprinkler setup. They answered our questions and did not try to get us to pay for stuff that we didn't need. They only charged us for the consultation, which was all we needed. They were extremely professional and we were happy to find someone that was honest and dependable. We will certainly call them in the future if we have sprinkler repair needs. read more

I should have called professionals like Steve and Troy first, but I didn't, ugh, and thank goodness they could fix my sprinkler and drip line problems. These two listened to my story and took the time to ensure they knew what I needed fixed, gave suggestions, and showed me how and where they would start to fix the problems. They discussed each concern with me before starting and of course showed me the incredible working results when they were done!! They also inspected the whole system and found a leak I didn't know about and they fixed that too! At the end of the day, this is the type of service that deserves a Yelp, for the reasonable price and for being terrific professional and fun people that we will ABSOLUTELY call again for the next project and beyond. Thank you again Steve and Troy! read more

Last year at the start of the pandemic, like many others, we decided to expand our vegetable garden. Steve came out to give us a quote. He seemed to know exactly what we were looking for so we scheduled an appt for instillation of multiple drip systems. He and his crew returned a few days later and did a tremendous amount of work fairly quickly. They programed my system, setting up 2 new zones, and then showed me how to use everything. The next day, my son broke one of the systems! I called Steve. He came out the same day after he was done with the rest of his jobs to fix it! Above and beyond!! I referred AJS to my in-laws and they were super happy with their work too. Definitely will use them again! read more

We purchased a new home and need sprinklers installed in our backyard. I called AJS Sprinkler 3 times before they returned my phone call. Last week I finally spoke with Gail and made an appointment for 3:30 - 4:00 today. My husband and I both took off work early, picked our kids up and rushed home. By 5:00 it was clear that they were not going to show up. We called and left a message, not a surprise that no one called back. What a bad way to conduct a business. AJS is my first choice from now on for any home irrigation problems. I have had problems with my sprinkler system since we moved in over ten years ago. I have used several local companies over the years to help solve the problems and they've never been able to fix them. AJS came out, assessed the problem and completely fixed our system. I'm really happy I found them. They were fast, efficient, totally cleaned up after themselves, and even came in below the estimate they gave me. I see no reason to ever call any other company. This is a good company. They principally do sprinklers, and they know what they're doing. The cost of a service call is $105, but that $105 covers a lot. In our case, we had a problem with a valve and a malfunctioning drip system, and the fix was covered by the service call plus materials cost. Trust the five star reviews on this one. They bring many years of experience to the job, and their prices are reasonable. They won't gouge you, and they'll do the job right. That's exactly what you want in a a good contractor. read more
