We visited Ajisai for a friend's birthday dinner on a Monday night. We were a party of 9 and they accompanied us well considering there is so much going on with ordering I stuck to ordering tartars, sushi and sushi rolls. The fish was good except the Escolar which I normally love but this seemed very different. They brought our food quickly and took plates quickly and took additional ordered quickly. The place operated well! The birthday friend got her meal for free and got to spin a wheel for a price It was pretty good for a buffet sushi restaurant.
Great service and the food is absolutely amazing if you're a sushi fan! I am the biggest fan of sushi-grade raw fish, and their garlic "white tuna" is a must-try. I have a personal record of 6 orders of the garlic white tuna, or 24 pieces in total. I also loved their spicy girl roll as a spicy sushi fan. It's definitely a little pricey but I would say that the quality, the service, and the QUANTITY that you get definitely makes up for it, especially with such varied options in my opinion.
Best AYCE sushi place I have ever had. I love that you order what you want and they bring the food freshly made to your table. You can make minor accommodations to your order. They offer 3-4 pages of items you can order from apps to sashimi, hand rolls, regular and specialty roll, noodles and ramen. All are included in the all you can eat price. There is a 90 minute table limit, but that is an enough time to enjoy. There was something for everyone at our table and we are until we couldn't anymore, all within the 90 minutes. Just be careful that you don't over order because any excess is weighed and a percentage if payment is required to avoid unnecessary waste. When I go back to Tampa, I will be stopping here everytime because it is the best bang for your buck and fun to share plates with friends and/or family. Go hungry, leave happy!!! It's no frills kind of place with great music playing, but also pretty casual clothing. They offer specials on certain days and on some drinks but we opted for water to better enjoy the food. There is a regular menu if you choose not to do the all you can eat.
This was our first time visiting AJisai. The atmosphere was so interesting. Loved the screens on the walls projecting peaceful changing backgrounds. We went at 3:00pm on Saturday. So the restaurant wasn't crowded at all. We were informed that all weekends or holidays no matter what time you come in you get the dinner all you can eat pricing. There were so many sushi rolls to choose from. All sushi that we tried was fresh and tasty. The hibachi. Was amazing! The tempura shrimp was so yummy. They have so much to offer on the menu from ramen, teriyaki , lo mein, so many different appetizers to try. The time from when you requested an item and it was delivered was brief. I was surprised how fast the service was. The waitress was friendly, helpful and attentive. We enjoyed it and will be back.
Haven't been here in about 3 months. It's always my go to when I have an all day thing at Moffitt. Starved by the end and look forward to the variety of the AYCE that works for my husband and I. We lucked out with the same wonderful waiter that gave us even more personalized service too. My husband had his usual sushi favorites the sashimi, Mt. Fuji rolls, eel rolls, Ajisai rolls, USF rolls all delicious. I had all cooked salmon, steak and shrimp hibachi and teriyaki. I double ordered because you only get a few shrimp or one piece of salmon so you need to be specific when ordering that or just double it like I did. My husband and I share the vegetables so it works for us. The place has a cool vibe you'll probably see lots of USF students working there and also filling the restaurant too. It was a late Tuesday night and the restaurant which is huge was half full at 8 pm with great turnover. We always try to order one new roll and this time it was the snow roll. It was shrimp, avocado, mango and cucumber ( no cream cheese). We were disappointed because the shrimp was mushy, no mango in it and just a gummy taste. Wound up telling our waiter and he wanted to get us a new one but we just felt we didn't want to give it another try. Everything else that night was delicious and tasted fresh. For dessert we only got chocolate ice cream which was really good. Sometimes I get the sesame balls for dessert too if you're wanting a suggestion to add to ice cream on the AYCE menu. All in all I was starved from almost 24hrs of fasting so the restaurant did not disappoint!!! It's not far from the hospital and makes a good stop before the long drive home too.
The sushi here is very creative and unique! I do think the lunch portions lack fish and shrimp. I noticed that the menu has a lot of veggie and fruit additions, but the rolls don't necessarily have a lot of seafood. The service was spotty, but it wasn't necessarily a problem. I do enjoy the decor in this restaurant, and I still think that it is one of the best places to go if you want sushi on a budget!
We tried this restaurant out last week and was pleasantly surprised to find there was an all you can eat option for lunch and dinner! Under AYCE are appetizers like crab Rangoon and seaweed salad along with many sushi rolls, hibachi AND RAMEN! Just make sure you only get what you truly can eat or you'll be charged extra. This restaurant resides in the old Shells building but when you step through the door, you'd never believe it! The service was impeccable- fast, friendly and very helpful as we navigated the menu. Can't wait to to come back to explore more! Pro Tip- come starving so you have room lol
First experience for me in an all you can eat sushi restaurant. The speed of service is definitely there. No complaints about that at all! The food is phenomenal and well worth every penny and I loved the appetizers. All the food (except sushi rolls) comes in a tapas portion so it's not terrible and you can easily finish it. Strongly recommend not ordering more than you can consume because you do get charged for leaving tons of leftovers. Other than that... definitely a great place to dine if you're able to consume tons of sushi. I stopped at 2 rolls and some appetizers LOL.

Large variety on the AYCE menu. Prices about standard I think it's $30 or so for dinner and less for AYCE lunch. On top of the rolls, you can get RAMEN!!! Included in AYCE. And it's GOOD. The bowl is medium to small sized and after stuffing myself I was able to eat most of it. Mainly because it was soo good. The servers put in your order at the table so it comes asap versus waiting for them to return to POS station (love this new system). Our service was good and waitress was nice. The aesthetic is....unique. I'm not sure who the graphics on the wall are targeting but it's giving "sushi restaurant on international drive in orlando by Disney". Not saying it's good or bad. Take it how you want. Lots of tables and can accommodate large parties comfortably which is nice as well!
Amazing sushi and hibachi options as well as choosing to do the all you can eat. I love how they bring out smaller portions at a time for the hibachi and you can just ask for meat and veggies if you don't want fried rice . Our waitress was friendly and happily went over the menu items with us since it was our first time . I'm looking forward to coming back to Tampa for this staple !

So I'm in college town Tampa for work and figured I'd take my daughter out to dinner because she's been studying her brains out at USF. We were actually on our way to a different Chinese buffet when we accidentally stumbled into AJISAI Hibachi Buffet... and let me tell you, sometimes getting lost is the best thing that can happen! The words "All You Can Eat" had me at hello. For $32.99, the amount of food choices is absolutely insane. Sushi? Check. Hibachi? Check. Seafood? Check. Desserts? Check. Basically, if you leave hungry, that's a personal decision. Now, I walked in hungrier than a hostage... and my daughter? Let's just say she activated her Big Back Scholarship. Every time I looked up, she had another plate like she was training for the Buffet Olympics. I was honestly proud. Everything we tried was fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. The staff kept everything stocked, the restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was perfect for stuffing your face without judgment. If you're in Tampa visiting your kid at USF, do yourself a favor and stop by AJISAI Hibachi Buffet. Just wear stretchy pants... because your belt is definitely filing a complaint afterward. read more

TLDR; Great atmosphere offering buffet & a la carte options. There is a lunch and dinner buffet, with dinner buffet also being offered during lunch & having more options. Fresh food, very attentive servers. Really recommend! I've only ever had the buffet option here. Lunch is about $22/person, dinner is around $32/person. The dinner menu has more sushi options & more options with raw salmon and more expensive slices of fish. They do offer the dinner menu even at lunch hours if you prefer !!! That being said, I opt for the lunch menu as I love the sushi offered. The food always comes out promptly, the servers are always kind and willing to put in more orders. Tastes fresh & always well made. Well proportioned and you're not getting excessive amounts of rice. Also on the buffet menu is hibachi, teriyaki, fried rice, ramen (dinner menu), and other appetizers (crab Rangoons mmmm). The atmosphere is really nice. Would recommend! This should be your go to endless sushi spot in Tampa! The lunch menu is $21 and the dinner is $30 but you can opt for the dinner menu at lunch for more choices. Compared to other sushi places this is a great price for the options. I did the lunch all you can eat and it was great. There are about 70 items to choose from including appetizers, salad, hibachi, sushi and ice cream. The appetizers I had (sesame balls, crab Rangoon) were brought out fresh and piping hot. The sushi had plenty of choices including fried, basic choices and fresh uncooked fish sushi. Top it off with some green tea ice cream at the end and you will be fulfilled! My server was the best part. She was friendly and quick. She offered me extra sauces and made sure she checked back often. The restaurant is decorated nicely and is very clean. It's a great place to try alone, take a date or go with family. You can make it work for anything! read more

Ajisai is a cool all you can eat hibachi/sushi spot with very friendly and accommodating staff. Happy hour buy one domestic beer get one free or buy two imports get one free. Dragon roll was my favorite roll of the night. Cool ambiance for date night or any occasion really. All you can eat for $30 a person. Enjoyed the green tea ice cream for dessert which was really tasty. I think you will find the food and service to be of your favor. read more

The tonkotsu ramen isn't tonkotsu ramen. I think it has cumin (extremely wild guess)? I don't know what the oily yellow unnatural tasting surface film is in that soup but it tasted so wrong. I've had instant noodles that tasted better. In fact, as a student I could've saved myself the trip to a higher end restaurant and eaten at WildBlue in front of Chikfila at the MSC (University of South Florida) and their tonkotsu ramen is not only cheaper, but far better. Additionally, I can name many other restaurants in that price range with phenomenal food nearby and worldwide. The literal Michelin starred Kowadari ramen in Paris is that expensive. Who do they think they are? I understand this place is more so about the all you can eat sushi so I tried that too. the rice was old and the sushi was impossible to swallow, even with small bites. For that price range I'd expect actually good sushi. I could talk more about the bad sushi but honestly what's really offensive is the ramen. The sushi is mediocre and old but at least it was sushi. Additionally after feeling sick from the ramen I went to pay and the lady told me that they in fact don't take the 10% off coupon anymore from 9Yaps. The coupons right there, I screenshotted it. I was trying my hardest not to look upset at the checkout I just wanted to get out of there. The experience made me download yelp that's how bad it was. The ramen cost me 18 dollars when WildBlue is closer and has ramen for 13 dollars. USF Publix has better overpriced instant noodles for 2 dollars and I can get a pack at Walmart for 6. Do you guys want bubble tea? Go to Moge tea across the street. Genuinely so many better options. The only reason to go here is the expensive "all you can eat" buffet. It must be for drunk people who can't taste the food anymore. read more

What an amazing discovery! I loved everything about Ajisai. We went on a Monday night, and the restaurant was practically empty, which made for a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Our server was fantastic, she recommended the best options based on popular choices and took the time to explain how everything worked since it was our first time there. The AYCE option for $30.99 is a great deal, but be aware of the 18% charge for any leftovers, so order wisely! My boyfriend and I went for a date night with an appetite, and we didn't leave a single bite behind! Haha. I definitely can't wait to go back! read more
Tried this place last week with my sister and I have to say...I have found my new favorite all-you-can-eat sushi spot! The most important thing is that the sushi was so so fresh! Everything we tried was so fresh and delicious. The decor is super cool and hip, the staff was so friendly. Our server's name was Mia I believe. She was fun and funny and helped us make great choices. Plenty of amazing selections at a great price! read more

The all you can eat sushi selection was pretty good. Fresh sashimi options that basically melt in your mouth. When you order 3 or more at a time. It comes presented nicely on your plate. Extensive menu options that leave you just wondering where to start and how to finish. read more
I'm afraid to post this review because I don't want this place to get too busy . Let me start by saying I've been listening to my wife complain about the Tampa area not having all you can eat sushi like they do where she used to live. She mentioned this A LOT, so I was ecstatic to find this place on line. So for real this place is amazing. Portions are smaller which is perfect for ala carte ordering. We had 6 at the table and everyone just rapid fire ordered and it all came out super fast and everything was amazing. They add grat to checks but I added a bit extra casue the service was bomb. Very cool vibe on the inside too. Bathrooms were clean which is always important and says a lot about the establishment. read more
This place is amazing. They have an all you can eat option for lunch and dinner. Significant price difference also. But more options on the dinner menu than the lunch menu. They let you adjust as needed. Only one roll I couldn't eat because I didn't know there was tempura on the roll, as the description only said crunchy and not tempura, but they were able to fix it. The sushi was definitely good. However, when I tried the boba, the brown sugar boba didn't taste great and was gummy. So I probably won't get the boba again. Otherwise, our server was great and everything tasted fantastic! read more

Atmosphere- busy, noisy, but normal restaurant noise. Ramen was okay, wasn't hot when it came to the table, not very flavorful either. The rest of the table ordered the all you can eat and enjoyed it. Service was great, plates rolled in as fast as they rolled out. Dinner AYCE..30.99 + 18% for anything left on your plate. Overall, I'd recommend you give it a try. read more

Ordered through UberEats since there was an offer and decided to try a newer place and give them a chance. Worst decision. The spicy tuna roll, even the appearance was not appetizing. As for taste, it's basically canned tuna, in I can't even tell you what type of spicy sauce but it's not Sriracha. The only reason half is gone is because my BF was starving. The dynamite roll was not any better. Honestly just get yourself Publix fridge sushi on Wednesday when it's on sale. read more
