My first time at this restaurant & if I lived closer I would definitely be making this a regular go to place. When I first arrived the parking lot was packed, & I was worried there may be a bit of a wait, especially since this was a spur of the moment stop so I didn't have a reservation. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get a seat immediately upon entering. My server was very friendly & went over the menu a bit with me since it was my first time here, & I decided on doing the AYCE dinner that way I could try a bit of everything. I got some hot green tea as well as a bottle of Peach Soju. I got a whole pot for the tea, & the soju was served in a small ice bucket, which I thought was cool because I love to keep mine chilled! I started off with a couple appetizers & some sashimi, the presentation was amazing & the freshness of the seafood delicious! My favorite was definitely the Blue Fin tuna, & apparently I wasn't the only fan because they had run out of almost all of it which was a little sad but just means I'll have to come again to try some more lol. The sushi rolls were fantastic & rolled perfectly, my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach because I wanted to order 1 of every roll but after my fourth roll I could feel myself getting full & sadly had to stop there. I did order some fried oreos for dessert which just hit different when they are done in tempura batter, I love it! The only thing food wise that I could critique is definitely the miso soup, while it looks really good, it was bland & just tasted like warm water & tofu. The restaurant itself is styled really well, I remember when this location used to be a Red Lobster but looking at it now there's no way you could tell. Even though the booths are pretty close together they were surprisingly quite, I could barely hear anyone that was around me, it felt like I was in a coffee shop instead of an actual restaurant.

I am picky about my sushi and sashimi, but we stumbled upon this place a few months ago and we have been very pleased with the quality of the fish. The all you can eat menu is great! A bit limited as far as the sushi goes but still lots to choose from. My only complaint is that they will make no substitutions or allow you to change the rolls in any way. You have to pay full price for the roll if that's what you want. If it was busy, I understand, but this is a rule no matter when you come. The food is fresh and flavorful. The building is beautiful. It used to be a red lobster from what I understand but they have remodeled and it is very oriental boho! Beautiful! The outdoor seating is also a vibe. We've always had very friendly staff and the food comes out so fast!!

My family and I always go to Sushi Masa for lunch and sometimes dinner. We usually get the AYCE and they offer such a great variety even for the picky eaters (especially their dinner menu). The sashimi tastes fresh and the flavors for the rolls and appetizers are unique and tasty. They're usually pretty fast about bringing out the food and come by to check in often. I especially love the variety of the menu; they have lots of hand rolls, sashimi, sushi, specialty rolls, grill items (noodles and tempura), and soups/salads. Definitely a great AYCE spot that beats out a lot of the other sushi AYCE places in Tampa.

Bit on the pricier side of endless sushi but the service was super fast and friendly and the options were delicious1 The shaggy dog sounded good but we didn't enjoy that one as much as we thought we would. Dragon roll and the hand rolls I would highly recommend! Fried Oreos are always a good sweet treat too!

About 3.5 stars for AYCE sushi in Tampa Bay Area. I am glad there is AYCE sushi near me. But the standard is just middle of the pack. One thing for sure they make it right here is the wait for sushi is very short after order. This sushi place is not cheap for the price. Yes they do have everything but very normal in the menu. Many imitation crab meat sushi roll. Good vegetarian selection. We like the salmon skin salad, dragonfly roll and big eye tuna nigiri. I also like the shrimp teriyaki a la cart. That very much I can recommend for the whole menu. Overall service is excellent. Food needs to be more creative. That includes the flavor.

EXCELLENT ayce sushi. I feel like most ayce sushi spots are not the greatest quality, and as a real sushi lover (no California rolls or cream cheese around here), I actually love this place. The small plates/apps and desserts were also great. The miso cod was a hit at our table. Definitely worth the price. I would go here all the time if it wasn't so far Service was also amazing! Our waitress was so funny and kind.

Sashimi appetizer for $26. Amazingly fresh and huge portions. We had this for lunch.

Very good fresh seafood. The ambience is cozy with lots of booths. Service was excellent at lunch time. Dinner time can get very busy and service is a little slower. Sashimi very fresh. Rolls good as well.

I've been wanting to check and this place and it was worth the wait. The food was outstanding. Our server was very friendly knowledgeable and helpful. The interior is get and wonderfully designed. The hostess was nice and welcoming. I wish I could have taken more pictures but I ate the food to fast... this is a must try.

So nice to have this instead of an abandoned Red Lobster! The food was incredible!

I had the sushi and fried Oreos for dessert!!! I got togo and the person was very nice! I really like what they did inside! You would never know it used to be a red lobster!

This new location is great! The food is really good, and we went for the endless experience, it's great your whole table doesn't have to do it! The hibachi there tastes so good! The experience inside is such a great vibe and clean! The service is alright, I wish our server was quicker to ensuring we had everything we wanted for the endless experience, so it was frustrating at times with her. Otherwise we have already been back for the food!

This place is wonderful for all you can eat sushi! We had a fantastic meal. The sashimi was fresh. They had a great selection of cooked and raw seafood. Fresh sashimi. The service was excellent. Reasonable food prices and drink prices. And it was super cute inside- great ambiance. Highly recommend. One of the best local places for all-you-can-eat sushi!

Ordered all the sashimis available (see pics). The scallop was not fresh but the other seafood was not bad. It's interesting that the menu says sashimi or sushi but I think it's mid-labeled and should say "sashimi or nigiri." The torched salmon nigiri was my favorite. Eel was also pretty good. The cold tastings were pretty tasty, esp the tuna kurakka. The teriyaki steak was too dry. I don't recommend the Hokkaido roll but I didn't try the other rolls since we mostly wanted to try the sashimi. The edamame didn't blow my mind and I'm not sure I would recommend ordering this. Yakisoba is supposed to be dry but it's was too saucy. I wish they told us about the weekly special menu. We find out after we paid that it was part of the buffet (we saw the table next to use order items from that menu.) We tried all the desserts because they seemed interesting. Turns out I don't really like fried desserts. The ice cream didn't have the authentic matcha or red bean flavor, was too sweet. On the weekends, they charge dinner prices for lunchtime. The table wasn't clean when the servers seated us. (There was a piece of hair underneath the soy sauce bottle.) Service was fast and place was family-friendly and date-friendly.

Absolutely amazing service by the bartender who also made the fantastic cocktails during our visit. The restaurant had no wait when we went. We were immediately sat and greeted by a friendly host. The food was phenomenal and definitely worth the price for the all you can eat. Prepared to feel super full and satisfied. I love this concept because you can go with a group of friends and try everything that your heart desires and get repeats of your favorites. Don't let the high volume of food fool you though, this does NOT mean they compromise the quality of their food- it's amazing!! 10/10 recommend you go with a group of friends or even on a fun date night.

The sushi was beautifully presented, and every roll we tried was packed with flavor without feeling overdone. You can really tell they care about the ingredients and overall experience here. The atmosphere is also a huge part of what makes this place special...cozy, modern, and perfect for either a casual dinner or a night out. We got a text that our table was ready and we had to flag someone down to let them know cause no one was standing at the front. And when we got someone flagged, they took the couple that came in AFTER us first. Then our server was not friendly, I had asked if they had the mentaiko sauce and she asked me what's that? They literally hahe mentaiko on the menu.... And then our ramen came out without the spicy paste and we flagged someone down , I assume the manager? Since he was dressed differently and he rudely said that's no wrong, they just didn't give you the paste. Okay....? So it's not what I ordered lol. He came back with the paste and very condescendingly asked is that right now? I also thought the ramen wasn't very flavorful and the noodles were on the softer end. All in all won't be back

The food, the cocktails, the service and the ambiance are all excellent. My ONLY criticism is sometimes the music can be a little too loud for conversation, but this isn't always so. I'm a cocktail geek and have made multiple trips to The Aviary in Chicago. Believe me, The Aviary has nothing on the Tanto bar program. Cocktails are unique, creative, and delicious. Food was amazing, whether omakase or á la carte. Staff is attentive, fun and playful. Chuck and Nick anchor the beverage service while Tony and Ari will make you feel at home. If you are lucky you may get a visit from Chef Cody. Standout drinks: #1 is Seoul Food. Think the savoriness of a Bloody Mary but without tomatoes. Hard to describe but don't miss it! Other highlights include Opposite Day, Memory in Bloom, and Three Way. Season of Again pairs beautifully with the oysters. I hate to say I have a favorite restaurant, because I choose different places for differing needs, but Tanto has won my heart and tastebuds.
