My daughter and are big sushi eaters so it is hard to impress us. We decided to visit Bincho Tan for lunch today and we were not disappointed. We ordered a Gold Class three roll special and this has to be the freshest sushi I have had in a long time. We also shared a rice dish that was very tasty. They have very good Japanese inspired menu. We will definitely come back to try some other items. read more

Very nice sushi spot in Lutz!! My friend recommended it as she comes here often. We met for lunch and tried their lunch specials. Hubby got a Trio Roll Set and she and I both ordered the Duo Roll set. All of our sushi was fresh and delicious. Hubby and I ordered a 220z Sapporo beer to split, but my friend said their Lychee Martinis are a signature drink so we ordered one. The owner Icee (sp?) made the drinks and they were so good! I was afraid they'd knock me in my butt, but it wasn't super strong so perfect for lunch. Our server Victoria was very nice and attentive. The interior decor is so pretty. Everything from the wall paper to the fish lamps and nice bar. Great place for sushi!! read more

About 4.5 stars. The restaurant is considered the new restaurant. They have good Japanese cuisine. That includes Izakaya and sushi. The restaurant has good capacity. They take reservations. We got the three different Yakitori to start. We got the pork belly, chicken and gizzard stick. All the marinade sauce is good. I like the gizzard Yakitori the most. We also got the spicy Hamachi roll. I like both but I recommend spicy hamachi roll more than spicy tuna roll. We also got Bincho Signature Men. I think this dish just ok. I did compare sunomono and the baby chirashi. I like chirashi better. Overall we like the food with fresh fish. Definitely is a go for the sushi and sashimi. Service is good and so do the price is reasonable. read more

Enjoyed Bincho Tan Bistro with friends. Happy to see they have a lunch menu which I ordered from. Had the unagi roll, florida roll, & hamachi roll. Also tried the spicy hamachi roll. All were very good. Florida Roll and hamachi roll were my fave. Next time I'd like to try the mini chirashi bowl. Everyone we came across was super helpful and friendly from start to finish. The restaurant is so pretty with nice detail. Would love to come visit here again! Definitely a great sushi Japanese spot in the area!! read more

Four of us went to lunch to try this place up in Lutz. It's bright, clean, spacious and special. There is an amazing mural on the left wall and an eclectic collection of Labubu toys and neat Lego sets on the right. I've never seen anything like it! None of it is for sale as it's apparently the owner's personal collection! Noel kindly served us and was happy to both provide separate checks and ensure all our questions were answered. Thanks Noel! We ordered all sorts of items off the lunch menu including yakitori, sushi and a bowl. Everyone agreed that everything was excellent and tasty plus artfully presented! Sarah kindly took a few moments to provide a partial tour of the toy collection. Thanks Sarah! My favorite was the little Lego sushi! Life is great with an excellent unique restaurant with great service and food! Don't sleep on Lutz! read more

The sushi here was really fresh. I placed a large order for pick up and the food was ready on time. When I walked in on a Friday around 6 this place was at full capacity. The ceilings were high, lighting was bright and I loved the mural art on the wall. I ordered 2 of the Feast for Four, Philly Wonton Bites and 1 sushi sashimi set. This was plenty for a party of 6. We loved how fresh the fish was. Some of our favorite rolls include the Over the World, Siesta, Black Dragon and the Unagi roll. The prices were reasonable and I loved the variety of fish options. The carry out bags were neatly sealed and they even have branded wet wipes. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other sashimi options. read more

Bincho Tan provides an amazing Japanese cuisine addition to the north Tampa/Lutz. We would have not known that this restaurant existed if it was not for the menu pamphlet we received in our mail. Seeing that Bincho Tan offered charcoal-grilled style BBQ ("binchotan" is actually the type of charcoal) skewers from their menu, we decided to give it a go to satisfy our curiosity. What we found in Bincho Tan exceeded our expectations. Located off Van Dyke Road in the Northgate Square Plaza of the Cheval sub-division, Bincho Tan sits quietly next to the Publix supermarket. Naturally it shares the parking lot with the rest of the businesses in the plaza, but the lot is large enough where parking is not an issue. As you enter the restaurant, you find yourself immersed in a modern interior that provides an eclectic mixture of styles - with barnyard rustic aesthetic in the seating, paired with Japanese art motif along the walls, and brass-colored fixtures. Along the bar and counter-seating, there's a collection of Lego/assorted Brick builds that hang above while large-size Labubus and other Asian collectibles give a playful ring to the restaurant. This is a long overdue review, as we visited the restaurant in January. When we came, we were greeted by a welcoming staff and seated prompted at a booth. Our server was extremely pleasant and cordial - a delight to interact with as he introduced the menu and specials while taking down our requests and orders. The restaurant is quite spacious offering a variety of booth, bench, table, and counter-top seating (great for varying party sizes). The menu offered a great variety of selections from sushi/sashimi and rolls to more hefty meals, all of course in addition to the BBQ skewers. The originality of plates and dishes available is a great quality of Bincho Tan. It was almost overwhelming, but we made our selections and saved some in our mental storage for a future visit. Most, if not all, the food was on point - we ordered one of each of the skewers, being extremely happy with the grilled shishito peppers. We ordered one of the specials that day - a prepared uni (sea urchin) roll that was pretty good. Overall, Bincho Tan offered a great experience and dinner meal for us. We would definitely come back here again to explore the other offerings and selections! We definitely recommend this restaurant to all locals! read more

I hate to be the first to not give a 5 star review but didn't really enjoy the food. Our service was great and the restaurant is cute inside. The a/c wasn't working well and it was warm inside. We got lunch specials (two rolls & soup or salad). The salad was completely covered with a thousand-island-like dressing--disappointing for us because we were expected ginger dressing. And the raw sushi rolls were warm/room temp which seemed odd (maybe the rice was hot?). The sushi wasn't rolled tight either and were falling apart. The Mexican was the best I'd say but the eel tasted too fishy. I'd give them another try because I you can tell this local restaurant is trying to provide a good experience. read more

Got ubereats here so I can only speak to takeout. The sushi was just average at best. I like how the rice to fish portion in the rolls but the rice was a bit hard. I like soft pillowy rice that melts. The sushi was also unflavorful. I usually can eat rolls without soy sauce but soy sauce was definitely required on these. I also got the black pepper noodles which were a bit too plain and greasy. It wasn't a total disappointment but I don't think I'll be ordering from here anytime soon. read more

This is my new favorite Japanese restaurant. The large menu selection, beautifully decorated interior, and the fresh material, good chef skills, attentive service earned the 5 stars fair and square. We visited them twice in a week, thus proved the points. Among the many dishes we ordered, in the gold class roll, spicy Hamachi roll was my top favorite. It is only a little bit spicy so don't be fool. The flavor, the texture was good. Mini chirashi from the lunch menu also very nice- big pieces of sashimi, beautifully presented, seasoned sushi rice at the bottom, such a wonderful bowl. For yakitori, the chicken gizzars was my top favorite. Chicken thigh and pork belly were also quite good. We had a short ribs signature men. It was a good dish if you are craving for noodle. The ginger dressing salad, miso soup were tasty. On the top of the bar, there are many Lego houses and Labubu dolls decorations. My personal favorite is "the club" on the check-in station. This is such a fun place to visit and dine. Good food and vibe ,and they have kids' menu. read more

Came from St Pete for Christmas meal with my family and absolutely couldn't have picked a better place! The restaurant is gorgeous inside with custom murals, hanging fish lights and beautiful bar/suhi area. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and attentive. We ordered a sample of many items as everything on menu looked so good the best part was it all tasted amazing too! The spicy edamame sauce was so flavorful! The Christmas roll specials were so well put together and the rice in the sushi was the perfect texture. I am already planning on coming back with a group of friends! read more

My husband and I tried this bistro for the first time Monday and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The owner graciously offered to give us a cold sake tasting selecting several of her finest dry ones. We chose one that was new to us and it was fabulous. Their house tomato garlic dipping sauce with just a little heat put the edamame on the next level! The sashimi was fresh and the Florida roll served with our request for eel sauce was served beautifully with a fresh flower garnish. The whole soft-shell crab was seasoned with delicious breading. The lollypop roll was fresh and crunchy. The attention to every detail, from the serving dishes, menu format, decor and personal attention from both the owner and server, our first experience was stellar and we plan to make it a regular Monday late lunch. read more

Read the hype and wholeheartedly agree! The decor is upscale yet welcoming, making it perfect for a date night. We chose them for a celebratory birthday, which I noted on the reservation. When we arrived, the lovely hostess wished our son a happy birthday and led us to a beautifully set booth. Eli was our waiter, whose manners and demeanor were impeccable. If you are a sushi connoisseur, you may want to take some time online to explore the extensive selection. As starters, we had chicken karage and edamame with spicy oil on the side. I had the delicious OG miso salmon served with rice and vegetables. My husband had the chicken teriyaki; my son the Tonkatsu. Our entrees came with your choice of salad or miso soup. For dessert, we had a many-layered vanilla cake they flew in from Japan. It is gorgeous and scrumptious. When they sang Happy Birthday, they sang in a refined, not-to-embarrass-you way. I can hardly wait to go back, but I would highly recommend reservations. We went on a Thurs at 5:30, and it filled up fast. There isn't a dress code, but I didn't see anyone in shorts and a T-shirt. Please go and enjoy this restaurant yourselves. You won't be sorry. The price point is spot on, and you will also find a nice selection of saki. Thanks for a lovely evening. read more

This is a hidden gem in the Lutz area. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with fun, unique decor that creates an elevated yet casual dining experience. The food was phenomenal. Each roll had its own distinct flavor profile, making every bite feel like a new experience. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and each roll was perfectly balanced in flavor. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their flavorful, well-balanced, and robust rolls. read more

The cutest hole in the wall sushi spot! From the anime cat mural to the hanging plants to the warehouse style ceilings to the lego town hanging over the sushi bar, this place is fun and original. Snappy and attentive service top! Sushi is great. We had the tuna tartar which was excellent with delicious sauce, avocado, green onions and salmon roe. It was great although the corn chips served with it were an enigma. Sushi is amazing, fresh, delicious and the rolls are enormous - at least 1.5x as big as most other places. Our new favorite sushi spot. Extra points for being next door to the UPS store so you can do your Amazon returns on the same trip! read more

I went for the soft opening on Christmas Day here. The first bite of the pork belly skewer seriously made my eyes roll back into my head. Unbelievably good Bincho-tan barbecue at a very reasonable price. I cannot wait to come back! Service was perfect. The restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated. There is nothing but great things that I can say about this place. Stumbled on it when looking for sushi closer to home, best I have found in the Carrollwood/Lutz area, actually anywhere in Tampa. The food is excellent and the service, the staff and the owner are friendly and attentive. Ambiance is wonderful, casual but upscale and just an overall pleasant atmosphere with some unique items throughout including some handmade wood workings by the owner. Being formally in the restaurant business, I know what it takes to run a successful restaurant and she is hitting all the right marks. You really need to give it a try, you will not be sorry. My favorite go-to dish to bring to a party is a sushi platter and boy did Binchō-Tan Bistro deliver! I've been living in the general area for over a year now and finding good sushi and service has been very challenging. Not only is it a beautiful, trendy, and clean restaurant, the staff and owner were so delightful to work with. They knew exactly what I was looking for and went above and beyond to provide a perfect product and experience. The platter was arranged and garnished so perfectly but most importantly, every roll was so fresh and delicious. It was without a doubt, the hit of the party and I cannot wait to dine in this beautiful restaurant again! Thank you!! read more

This is a new place with epic Asian pop-culture decor- much nicer ambiance than typical quick serve Asian restaurants. We ordered a little of everything and it was all amazing! Spicy garlic edamame (for the adults), gyoza and calamari apps for kiddos- all a hit, and noodles with veg and chicken always a favorite. Best part is it's extremely gluten friendly!! The Island Roll with tempura shrimp and delicious dipping sauce is a must if you like things a little sweet and a salmon roll with a little crunch and avocado was a great combo for the savory side. Don't think you can go wrong with any roll though- the owners seriously care about the quality and your experience so just ask them what is good and what you like and they'll set you up! read more

Have eaten in person and gotten take out total of 3 times in past two months. Our food was always made with fresh ingredients, very flavorful, and very affordable, for both the high quality of the food and the service behind it.
