    Chicke3n Katsu Lunch Box
    Charlie G.

Stopped in for quick lunch before an appt. at a nearby optometrist. I was greeted quickly, and waved to sit down. The booths and tables were all occupied so I sat at the sushi bar. I ordered the Chicken Katsu Lunch Box, as it sounded good. Combination plate with some Tempura, Chicken Katsu, some slices of a basic sushi roll, a couple of gyoza and a ginger salad. Miso soup also. It was delivered quickly. Everything was good... the chicken katsu was a little overcooked maybe, and needed more katsu sauce... but it was good. Tempura was tasty, Miso soup was good, the tiny slices of sushi were yummy. I will be back as I want to try some of the rolls. I did ask the sushi chef if they had Toro, and he indicated they did not. Not sure if they were out of it, or just normally don't stock it since it is a higher end product.

Before coming here, I searched for several Japanese restaurants in the local area and finally chose this one. It turned out that my choice was right, with warm service and delicious sushi~

Absolutely delicious! From the sushi to the host and waitresses! Amazing service! Definitely will be happy!

A very nice neighborhood sushi spot that is located in the strip center across from Sickles High on Gunn Hwy. A bonafide Sushi Chef deals out succulent dishes. Parking is a cinch, as they are at the other end of the Publix Plaza. We loved our rolls and the starter, a crunchy Tempura Shrimp. The star of our quick lunch was the Dragon Ball Roll. An eye pleasing layout with a very nice combination of flavors. Every roll 5 or 6 so far has been unique and delicious. The Salmon Belly sashimi was melt in your mouth delectable. They have some very reasonable lunch specials. The menu offers a large variety of items including some Korean dishes. Service is a yo-yo, up and down, be patient and keep your eyes on the prize, the food. You can not go wrong here.

Nice and cozy rest. When I come here I sit at bar because it's very welcoming! Everything I have tried from their sushi menu is super yummy and the presentation is beautiful. Will keep coming back!!!

I'm writing this review so future Christina knows what her family likes and dislikes. As we continue our Uber Eats kick (aka spending all the money we would have spent on daycare on takeout instead), we went two days in a row ordering dinner from Yoshi Sushi. Here's what I got and what our future order will be. Twice I got the lobster roll, the super rainbow roll, and a salmon roll. I'm disappointed they don't have salmon sashimi, but the salmon roll will do in a pinch. Next time I'll stick with the salmon roll and super rainbow roll (which really is an upgrade IMO of a normal rainbow roll), but I'm going to cut out the lobster roll. The sauce in that roll is a little too sweet for me. So, future Christina, try a different third roll. Brandon got the chicken teriyaki the first time, but he found it overcooked (which he thinks could just be a one time thing). However, the second time he got shrimp teriyaki and liked it better. Next time we order, I need to remind him of this. They do package the rolls in Styrofoam containers (the rolls don't take up the whole container, obviously), so if they fall to the side when in transit, your roll will look pretty ugly when it gets to you. It will still taste good, but you won't get that Instagram pic.

If I could just rate them for the food, it would be 0 stars. They get 1 star for good service. We got yakisoba (which had absolutely no flavor) and 2 sushi rolls (which were very blah) for takeout. All the vegetables & meat in the soba tasted like they'd been boiled before being tossed on a bed of bland noodles. The tempura sushi was similarly inedible. I really wanted this place to be good and was so disappointed.

I drove all…read morethe way from downtown St Pete on a IG recommendation (that's how little good options you have in this area unfortunately) and I was not disappointed. The staff and owner were very friendly and personable and the food was even better! I ordered the gyoza (this is fried and the filling is an in-house recipe pork filling, might be different from your regular gyoza but still yummy and worth trying), and had the Nigiri Flight which was amazing! I'll let the picture speak for itself, but you need to come in and try it for yourself. The fish was fresh and each one was better than the other. I even loved the tamago (which they prepare in house) and I normally am not a fan of it. All the nigiri were well sized and super filling, I could have done without the dumplings and the salad, and still would have been more than satisfied. The place is also very well decorated and styled, I truly think they hit all the points with food, service, and ambience. You can tell the owner puts his heart and soul into this place and it shows in the food and your time there. It was a very pleasant experience and I am so happy to have found Isekai!

Fantastic lunch here on a recent visit to Tampa for business…read more As a Los Angeles resident who has spent 1/2 my time in Hawaii for work, I am an acclaimed sushi snob. I was excited by the great reviews on Yelp -- and was so happy that this place lived up to the hype! The fish was excellent -- fresh, well cut, super tasty. The toro was rich and delicious, the salmon and snapper fresh and pure, and as noted by others, the seasoned sushi rice with the accoutrements in the bowl (seaweed salad, thinly sliced pickled radish and carrot, and masago) made for an elevated lunch. I really appreciated the flexibility and options around my celiac disease (sushi can be tough because of the wheat in most soy sauce) -- including the kind note they attached saying the subbed some extra toro and masago for the Iburi which had been marinated in soy sauce. Lastly, I usually much prefer to eat-in for sushi (a sushi bar is my 2nd home), but really appreciate the details they put into the Uber Eats takeout package -- dressed it nice with shiso leaf and shaved radish AND have it all placed on little ice packs to keep the fish cold on their commute from the Chef's Knife to my belly. Great experience overall.

I feel I wasted my money and Fake pictures of "their food" on the walls and the website?? Very misleading. Very confusing. Eel sauce and spicy mayo = disgusting, inedible, literally lost my appetite after I ate them. Miso soup too. Everything just tasted old and rancid. I literally got sick after eating... my stomach was tore up. Hibachi super mid, no flavor. Dry. Overcooked proteins. Supposedly there's a new menu coming out this Friday? Then will they be serving the pictures on the wall and on the website? Maybe invite my friend and I back for this "new menu" and I could write a hopefully updated review. Amazing even for takeout…read more I'm going to rank the dishes in the order that I enjoyed them. 1. Crying Tiger. This is grilled marinated Ny sirloin strip served with Laotian sticky rice, pickled daikon and carrots. 10/10. The meat was so exceptionally tender, even reheated the next day. I loved the sticky rice. My youngest son loved it too, so it was a huge winner. 2. Crispy Volcano Chicken. I really enjoyed this as well. It has the outside that reminds me of orange chicken. 3. Green Papaya Salad. I'm a huge papaya salad fan and this one really hit the spot. I'm the only one in my family who eats it, but I feel healthy when I do and it's delicious. 4. Fried chicken wings - they were plump and the entire family enjoyed this. The two dishes that were good, but I'd skip next time are the chicken satay (this sat around in our fridge for a while) and the black dragon roll which was good, but I think their non sushi dishes really shine. It said the food would be ready in 30 minutes (we ordered online) and when we picked up about 30 minutes later it was ready. It's super easy to park since it's a large parking lot and run in and out. I will definitely be getting more takeout from here for my family.

I was initially going to get À la carte, but after seeing most rolls on the menu were upwards of more than $15, I decided the $35 lunch all you can eat to be more worth it. I noticed when I sat that my plate and soy sauce tray was dirty and had to be wiped out. We sat and ordered appetizers and waters right away, and once we got our drinks, we waited 30 minutes before we saw our server again. 30 minutes--no exaggeration. I asked another server to please grab our server so we could order, and he said he would take our order for us. Another 5 minutes passed and I asked a different server where our guy was. He informed us that our server had taken his lunch break, and someone else would see us shortly. No one else saw us shortly. We sat there, waiting to order food at an all you can eat restaurant for 40 minutes until our server was off his break. Additionally, every menu item you order would take anywhere from 10-15 minutes to come out. My friend and I had to order everything we wanted in one sitting, since we knew we wouldn't see our server again and the food would take forever. And because of this, we ended up sickening ourselves to try and avoid a $2 up-charge per piece of sushi not finished. The food was fine but nowhere near the $50 per person quality marker. We found a lot of the sushi rolls to be very bland. We asked for other sauces and a different server told us they only had spicy mayo or eel. Our server never told us his name, but my receipt says Juan. When I had any questions on recommendations from the menu, he seemed very unfamiliar with it and even asked to see it so he could remember what was on it. In the hour and a half my friend and I spent at the restaurant (mostly waiting for food or service), we saw Juan three times. One time when we got our drinks. One time to place an order for food. One time when I called out for a receipt. My friend and I went here at 4pm on a Sunday. There was only one other table with three people when we came, so the place was relatively empty. If it was a busy day, I would understand. We were two people in an empty restaurant. I can't even imagine what getting service might be like at a busy time of day. When I go out to eat, I do not expect my server to check on me every second. However when I am at all you can eat places and I have had empty plates sitting in front of me for 40 minutes, I get pretty frustrated. And the forced 20% gratuity at the end that was not mentioned whatsoever was the real cherry on top. Will never be returning and I have made it a point to tell others to never stop by.

I don't know when they started doing this, but now you can park on the grass in front of the restaurant so it makes parking a lot easier. You don't have to be worried about finding a parking spot in their lot. I got a Yoshi roll and a salmon skin hand roll. Both were pretty good. I wouldn't say this is the best sushi ever, but it is solid and pretty much the only option in this area. The lychee martini is sweet, so if you like your drink sweet, this is for you.
