We were informed that items on sale do not qualify for deliver. Hmmm. The kindly lent us a measuring tape so we could see if it would fit in our car. It would not. We offered to pay for delivery. They said sorry no can do. They helpfully suggested we could either get a friend with truck to come and get it for us or we could rent a truck. We left without buying the coffee table. To be honest I can't imagine me ever buying anything here. Ever.

After a few months, my wife noticed that what supposed to be stone surface, small chips started to come off, the stone surface was actually plastic chips glued on a wooden backing. She also noticed that paint started to come off the dresser & night table. We called Ashley's customer service for warranty repair, and we spoke with a customer service person named Lilibeth, we tried to explain the situation to her, but without getting into the details, she started claiming that the paint came off because we had spilled solvent onto the top of the dresser, and that was not covered by warranty. We asked to speak with a manager and a lady by the name of Tanya came on the phone, Tanya started telling us that the paint and stone face problems are cosmetic and those would not be covered by warranty. She also said that only structural damage is covered. We really felt betrayed by Ashley, which sold us craps at top price, I would for sure never shop there again.

She is…read moreused to seeing a HomeSense store mashed together with a Winners, as that's the case where she lives. In Ajax, at this plaza with a bunch of box stores, the Winners and HomeSense stores are diagonally across from each other. We dropped by on a Monday, the day after New Year's Day, in the afternoon. It wasn't packed, but there were several shoppers when we dropped by. It was weird seeing Valentine's Day merchandise. I've been so used to seeing Christmas items for months that this transition took some time. I did love the pink and red gnomes. My friend was looking for a side table that she could place next to her bed. There were many to choose from, but the size wasn't what she was looking for. I suggested that she hit a Kitchen Plus Stuff store that might have the size that she's looking for. We browsed around. I liked looking at kitchen gadgets. I found the shiniest can opener and ice cream scoop. They matched in colour! I also enjoyed looking at the snacks, from vegan gummies, to Laura Secord chocolate bars. Yum! My friend found a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle that she liked. She scooped it up without any hesitation. It was cool that I didn't buy a thing and she did. Normally, it's the reverse. Then again, I had done some damage at Winners and she didn't. We were even. The woman at the cashier was nice. The jigsaw puzzle was $5.75 with tax. She paid with cash and change. It was such a throwback to me. I rarely have cash on me, especially during this pandemic. My friend was extremely happy with her purchase. I was happy that she found a good deal. (7)

Every area had been taken over - the home decor, kitchen supplies, and even the pillows and artwork. You have to look carefully at each of the items. Browsing the mugs, there were little chips or poor printing. This theme kind of followed throughout the store where there were little defects on different items throughout the store. I was impressed that they had some officially licensed items that were Disney and Peanuts. They have a ton of checkouts so even though the line is pretty long, it moves decently fast. Also, the line snakes through a bunch of shelves so it isn't too boring when you're moving through.

We came here to get…read moreinspiration and to check out some lighting IRL instead of just me imagining through Pinterest. We wanted some statement lights over our dining table and kitchen counters. I don't understand why there are such low ratings here. I'm sure many people here are just browsing, and I rather have a sales rep give us the space and only come to us if we need help and seriously find a piece we're considering. So I have no issues with how no one really came up to us. There's a lot of lighting, but personally, not enough contemporary/modern lighting to our liking. We did take some pictures of the few we liked that are more contemporary-inspired. However, we don't love it enough to pull the trigger. The prices for the lighting are very high for the ones we looked at, about $1500 (for that round chandelier) to $5600 (Criss Cross silver lighting). We liked the look of the round chandelier the most. To our surprise, our neighbour has the same one. So loses that unique appeal. Also don't know how we would change the light if it burns out? Lighting is all personal preference. This trip nothing really screamed "this is the one" for us. If you're into other design themes like traditional, industrial, mid-century modern etc, you may find there is more to your liking than the modern/contemporary styles here. I still recommend to check it out though for yourself if you're in the market for lighting.

I ordered some additional fittings for a ceiling fan I had purchased. Their website indicated the fittings were compatible; however, once I had placed the order, I discovered they would not work. I contacted them immediately as the items hadn't been shipped yet. They refused to refund the order, even though the items didn't ship for another week and a half after I had ordered them. So, I now have $400 worth of unopened ceiling fan fittings that I can't use. This company is out of touch with their strict no refund policy on some items--no wonder people shop at amazon. I really wanted to support a local company, but I will never shop there again, and I would caution you against doing so, too.
