Today I had the unfortunate pleasure of my condo associate towing my husband's legally parked truck. Luckily, it was done by Ajaco. I took a stab and called Ajaco. They instantly knew the truck was there ( even though I forgot his license plate ) and quoted a price. Not even 30 minutes later the truck is sitting right before our eyes no issue. Now, inside the office is where my entire day started to look up. Every single person in the office was friendly. We laughed about the ridiculousness of the whole situation and now I don't feel so irritated at the wrench thrown in my day. If I ever need a tow I'm going to call them. read more

My wife recently got a flat with all three of our young children in the car. The temperature was hovering around 20 degrees. She called Chevy roadside assistance and they told her 40 minutes. 40 minutes came and went they called back to say it would be another 90 minutes. I called the closest towing company to her location which happened to be Ajaco. While I was still on the phone, Jason dispatched a truck to her location. Predatory practices, their Harrison location claimed that their "credit card machine is broken" and refused to take credit numbers or checks for towed vehicles, which according to NJ Consumer Affairs is illegal. Had an illegal spotter who, according to police, was not supposed to be there targeting individuals. Targeted people at a festival parking lot where the festival was actually held, without any police summons/notifications, claiming there was signage when there was none. Their staff was supposedly working on a day that "they were supposed to be closed" as if we're supposed to be grateful for that, also proceeded to make fun of my speech impediment and purposely locked the gate when I spoke out against their injustices. People who weren't from their area where stuck paying $225 IN CASH to remove their car due to the company's bogus claims, and many didn't speak English. They capitalized on a festival, without people who could t speak English, and won. Congratulations. May you get exactly what you deserve. read more

My boyfriend had an accident and this company showed up , the driver that came VERY NICE guy. He towed the car to their lot, we called later that day to get our belongings out of the car and was told by someone on he phone it will be 200+ to get our belongings out and we asked can we junk it to them and the response was " I don't want it" then it was "okay we'll take 30$" at this point we're over it . So we go there take the title as instructed then my boyfriend gets there and he's told he needs a release from the police precinct ( which was never said on the phone. And of course they didn't know where the precinct was , so after finding out where the precinct was, we went handle that ( which took all of 2mins because they faxed the papers over ) while my boyfriend was handling that I called back over to the towing place to see what time they close and was told "430 and we won't be able to get anything out the car " mind you we went there at 440 , so then we go back the next day only for the lady to tell us she worked the night b4 until 730 so we could've came back and that it's more money because it's a charge by day . Awesome service, great effort by Carmine E.,the Tow truck driver to help me. He would not quit, until the job was complete, and done safely and correctly. He showed expertise in his job, and patience. Three other tow truck companies dispatched by BMW could not help. AJACO Towing saved the day for me! My vehicle, a 2019 BMW X5 would not start, something was wrong with the software. I called BMW Roadside assistance, and they dispatched a tow truck. That truck came promptly, but said they could not help me since the vehicle was stuck in my garage, and they could not get it into Neutral. Next Tow Truck company came; the guy looked at the car, and said, it was too close to the garage wall, and could not be moved, and he would tell BMW to call a wrecker to pull the vehicle out of the garage. The next guy showed up with another flat bed, and had the same excuse, and left my car in the garage. Diligent effort, and a commitment to complete the job, was the focus of Carmine at AJACO towing. This isn't a review. This is a complaint about one of your drivers license plate AT 774C. Driver was speeding well over 80mph, swerving in and out of traffic and almost crashed into my girlfriend. I obviously gave him the finger and he then proceeded to make explicit sexual motions with his hands and mouth while recording our reactions with his phone (while driving.) Extremely unprofessional. If I could give 0 stars I would. I highly recommend nobody contacts this company for a tow because if this is how your employees behave on the road, I don't wanna know how they handle your vehicle. read more

These guys are straight thieves! Impounded my vehicle on 10/24 at 7:40pm picked it up on 10/25 9:54am. only to charge me $321. The biggest scheme I've ever heard of. They charge me for 2 storage days when the vehicle was sitting for less than 24 hours. There hours of operation are set up so the average worker has to either go to work late or leave work early to pick up their vehicle. If that wasn't enough, an employee that works there told me their storage fees are set up on 12 hour calendar days. What kind of f***ery is that!? read more

Albert was professional and knowledgeable. The story: my car just wouldn't start. Tried to jump start it no luck. So, last resort, I figured I needed to have it towed to the dealer. I initially called AAA to have someone come tow my car but because it's all wheel drive, the guy couldn't figure out how to get the car in Neutral to put it on the truck. Finally he said he just couldn't do it and left. I made another call through another roadside assistance program -- Thats when Albert arrived and within 15 minutes he had my car on his truck and was on his way. He also showed me how to get the car into neutral for future reference. Thanks Ajaco for employees like Albert. If I run into any trouble again, you'll be first on my list to call. read more

They told me to come pick up my car at a certain time after I had to fight them to release my car to me (they wanted me to keep it there for an extra 3 days to make more money off of me) told me to be patient but I waited for 2 hours for someone to show up. Unfortunately 0 stars isn't an option. They towed my car without a police ticket. Then when trying to pick up the car they claimed the credit card machine was broken and said they would only take cash. There was an employee at their location the following morning and a sign that said they were only open 9-12. However they said they were closed and would only release the car for cash and for an exorbitant price. We had an out of state wedding to attend so I was left with no choice to pay. I will be contacting the department of consumer affairs and better business bureau for these predatory practices. read more

Stay away from Ajaco at all cost.  Record or take photos of the encounter if you can't avoid them. It's unfortunate that Ajaco has the highway service permit. They are dishonest, will nickle & dime you, and seemingly try to extort more money from you.  I had a tire blow out on 287 by Pompton Lakes so the Trooper called Ajaco to remove my car.  Ok no problem.  Go to their facility a few days later to pick up the car with my dad who's a veteran mechanic of 35+ years.  Asking about the charges on the $750 bill: why is there a medium duty winch charge as well as a light duty tow, shouldn't it be one or the other? The guy said that my car was up on the guard rail, (it certainly wasn't), which is why the winch was needed. But there's no damage on the part of the car that was closest to the rail, so how could it have been up on the rail?  Then I asked about the $75 clean up & disposal fee. There was nothing to clean up since the highway traffic had blown everything down the road.  To quote the guy who was doing my paperwork, "If we pick up so much as a screw, we charge the clean up fee.  If you want the car, then pay the bill. Otherwise..."  Paid the bill, got the paper work, Ajaco released the car to me, but then would not let me take the car off the lot claiming it had to be towed out. I explained we had a new wheel to put on. "You cant do that on our property for liability reasons, you have to go to the curb to do that." Ok, so let us drive it off the lot to the curb so we can change the tire. "No you cant do that, this car has to be towed off the lot, it's not drive-able, look at that tire!"  Exactly, which is why we need to drive it 20 yards to the curb so we can change the tire. "If you move this car I'm calling the troopers and they'll impound the car!" Anyway, the guy was pulling every excuse to keep us from removing the car, body panel damage, broken light, broken axle and drivetrain, even brought up the Corona virus (this is the week right before lockdown).  Eventually I got into the car, slowly drove it out of the lot, changed the wheel on the street & went along my way. Oh, and during all this back & forth, I asked how much would it be for a tow to the Pep Boys half a mile down the road. This got his attention & he perked up quoting the rates. Dude was trying to get more tow fees, or leave the car there for more storage, or use their mechanic to get the car driving. If I could give no stars to this stupid people I would. They try to towe my car while I was doing laundry and eating a pizza at the same building complex. As he was putting my car in the truck I told him I was a customer that he should not towe my car. He said he would only give me my car back if I have him $150. I had no choice but to pay the asshoke even though I showed him the receipt from the pizzeria. Well they will be seeing me in court. I will make sure their reputation is destroyed. Those thieves. Report this company. Ask them which of their drivers towed ur car because they need to be licensed. They do not follow the procedure when towing a car from private property. Before they can even pickup ur car they have to call it into the police. They tow without a license to tow in Newark and their drivers are not licensed to tow in Newark. So they pickup my car at Capital One at 7:59pm and right now it's 11:52pm and my truck is still not reported as towed even though they need to call it before picking it up. Then they said it wasn't reported because the driver was called on an emergency by State police because of a crash. They will make up any excuse in the book to OVERCHARGE YOU!!!! read more

Awful service towed our car at supermarket parking lot and when we saw no signed posted anywhere and were using the stores parking lot to go in the store makes no sense right? As we asked to pay for the car at the moment to just get home the guy refused and almost ran us over by stating call the cops and drove off reckless! They don't care about customers well being and will charge you an arm and a leg so don't ever use this company they only have there interest in mind. Terrible experience attempting to use them to change my flat. The extremely rude and unprofessional woman who answers the phone actually hung up on me twice and threatened to cancel the service call because I called back too many times to ask her how long they would be and why they weren't there yet, she just kept lying and saying the guy was on his way (for 2 hours he was on his way). In the end I waited 3 hours for them to arrive. By then roadside assistance had called another company and told me they will file a complaint against this company and will not use again.
