If I could change anything about this wonderful brunch experience on a cold weekend morning here, I would have requested to be sat closer to the fireplace, as being seated near the window made me very cold. There are a couple of tables that are situated in a section of the floor that kind of sticks out so the cold glass is almost all around you. The service was fantastic, and the server was knowledgeable about the providence of the buns on the burger, turns out they are from Ashland! The coffee is served in very small cups, so if I could maybe bring my own mug without offending the establishment next time, I would. I got up two or three times to request a refill, just because of how quickly I drink it, this is not at all a critique of the service speed. The burger and the fries were perfect, and the egg is what made it brunch. read more

The sandwiches here are very good! The presentation is nice and they did not skimp on toppings. The fries have a rosemary type seasoning which I didn't care for. Wish I would have known that before hand. We were the only people here and I felt the server was a little slow. The food took quite awhile to come out considering what it is & that it was only us. As others have stated you are sitting in the gift shop - so it's not the most private/relaxing place to eat a meal. Overall I think the sandwich is good enough that we would come back. read more

It's fantastic to have a new restaurant in town that serves up great food. This place is located right inside the Hellgate Jetboat Tour location on 6th just before the Caveman Bridge. I was surprised how tasty the food was and felt welcome by the friendly staff. They make a beautiful Pork Tenderloin Wellington (a twist on an old classic) topped with a local blackberry gastrique that was amazing. Their "house burger" topped with pork belly slabs and a side of fries was also good and nicely prepared. They use a great grind of Wagyu brisket and chuck cuts for the patty. I wish them well as they settle in and hope they get lots of business. A detail worth mentioning is they make their own pasta fresh in house. Trust... read more

I came here for a weekend brunch. I ordered the tri tip hash. The meat was well done. The potatoes and few pieces of spinach were very oily. It would have been a nice meal if it were less oily. I forgot to take a pic when I started eating, this is what I couldn't finish. Portions were very large. My friend got the scramble with bacon. The server forgot the bacon and didn't check in with us after she noticed it was missing. The place is well adorned with decent seating and a lot of flies. read more

We stopped in for lunch on a weekday. The server was pleasant and prompt. The restaurant seems to be part of a larger operation with a gift shop and boating on offer in the same space. We tried a cocktail each and they were well balanced. I'm a sucker for biscuits and gravy but the ones I ordered were more dense than I enjoy and not flaky. I asked to replace the side of potatoes with fries. The fries were good. My spouse went for the grilled cheese sandwich and the French Onion soup. The sandwich looked amazing with a cheese lace on top but the other side was very oily. I also had the unfortunate experience of being seated in a location where I could overhear the cook? talking with the server. It seemed he was complaining that because it was on the menu they had to honor the substitution For Free. My fries? Who knows. Anyway, that and his other comments weren't great to overhear. I doubt we'll visit again. read more

Food 5/5 Service 4/5 Value 5/5 Ok, so this place is awesome. Quality ingredients and excellent execution and care. Great potential and being that it's new I have high hopes it'll pan out. We had the salmon hash and classic Benedict. The hash was excellent. A variety of potatoes, asparagus, Bernese sauce and a large FRESHLY prepared piece of salmon. Emphasis on the freshly prepared salmon! Not some dry prepped piece, but cooked to order and it shows. Very good and large enough to be shared by two. The classic Benedict was literally one of, if not, the best Benedict's I've ever had. The meat is a thick slice of pork loin that's fresh and seasoned with a touch of sweetness. It pairs very well with the homemade English muffin that is crispy and chewy and sweet and a perfect vessel for the awesome homemade hollandaise sauce. Very legit and very good. Worth nothing that the often overlooked "fruit salad" that came with this also excellent, freshly prepared and was way better than most "fruit salads" served at most places. Awesome! Ambience was casual. Service was good, although a bit slow but they're figuring things out. Overall an awesome hidden gem with tons of potential and and amazing value. We'll be back and can't wait to sample the dinner menu. Try it, You'll love it! read more

Just enjoyed a delicious brunch at Ajace with my girlfriend/neighbor. We both ordered the beef tenderloin hash and we were not disappointed. There were three decent sized pieces of filet atop potatoes, onions, mushrooms and bell peppers. On top of this was a fried egg and hollandaise sauce. Neither of us had any complaints about taste/portion size or presentation. It was great. Before the main act we shared a large lemon bar because we were craving something sweet to go with the excellent coffee. This was my second visit, and today's meal was as good as the cheeseburger I had last time. Which for those of you who look for good burgers - Ajace has one! Server was friendly and atmosphere is nice with the bubbling brook and Shop at River Rock staged for Christmas. Ajace is a welcome addition to the Grants Pass food scene. read more

I have visited this place twice for lunch and once for breakfast in the past month. An unbelievable food experience each time. This is definitely not fast food. Each plate that comes out is a visual and tasteful delite. Credit going to a very talented kitchen staff. Twon is a two-legged encyclopedia of cuisine and drinks. He will let you know how the food is freshly bought and prepared using locally. A true gem in our little town. read more

We have been here twice. Once for a dinner with the group of eight. And once for lunch with two people. The food was excellent, but I have to say the service needs some improvement. Service was very slow both visits. Our waitress during the lunch didn't seem to really know how to be a server. She was very young and just really had no idea what she was doing. She was very sweet, but just needs a little bit more training. The chef has great ideas and we are very excited about this new restaurant in town. read more

Delicious! New restaurant in Grants Pass I went there twice in a week. I tried the classic eggs Benedict for breakfast and the lavender gnocchi tonight with a Thai mojito. It was amazing everything has a twist to it. Smart, fresh and oh so refreshing to have a restaurant like this in this town . Even though it is in a touristy area this place is sure to attract the locals. Great job ! See you again soon read more

Here's an update on Ajace, my second time there. The first time, last month, was wonderful. Not only was the food super great, but service from Josh, the manager, was equally wonderful. He saw to our needs but wasn't hovering in any way. VERY deserving of the five star review. :) Forward to today. We were the only customers, and Josh wasn't there when we arrived. Instead, two folks who weren't there last time were manning the counter area, and both were way more focused on stuff behind the counter than on us -- just a few feet away and again, the only customers in the place. I will give props to one who tried to get my Internet working -- no luck, but he did try. Anyway, despite being so close to the counter, I had to go up to the counter and let the folks there know that we were ready to order. They were busy talking so I had to talk loud. Josh did arrive later, but by then, we were finished eating. He did remember me. Also... the hot water for my tea wasn't lukewarm, but it wasn't hot either. My salad was wonderful, though. My friend had onion soup (which she declared as just okay) and a grilled cheese sandwich, which she said was very good. But thanks to the service, she doesn't want to go back again. Given that we were the only customers in the place, I understand. I will try one more time with another friend. Let's see what happens. Maybe Josh will be there. I really want this restaurant to succeed, but the service needs to be way more welcoming to its guests. read more

We went there a couple of months after it opened. Bartender didn't know how to make a Pina Colada. They said Pasta made fresh. The pasta WE got, if it was made fresh, it was made fresh yesterday. All one big clump when you picked the pasta up with your fork. It came out of the fridge. Reheated. Sauced n served. Whatta mess. I forgot what I ordered that's how memorable the meal was. Never again. read more

Service was perfect. Informative. Attentive but not too attentive. Ordered the lavender gnocchi. Homemade soft gnocchi w subtle flavors and hint of pepper. The greens were great. Really didn't need the garden salad. Portions are substantial. Loved my Serenti-tea--tart and not too sweet and big enough to not be consumed by the whites. Wonderful Temperanillo red and a hearty pour. Am here for work and will bring my colleagues here to try the salmon and burger. read more

Yes. Looked up online. Said open. When we arrived at 4:30 pm there was a sign on the door stating, " Closed due to maintenance." Grants Pass has been blessed by this spectacular chef. Every cocktail, every appetizer and every phenomenal entree have been among the best (if not the best) I've ever had. Truly, Michelin star restaurants in major metropolitan areas I've lived can't hold a candle to this chef. Prior to opening Ajace, this chef catered our wedding party and I'll probably remember the food more than anything else. Go here. read more

What a pleasant surprise in Grants Pass! Stopped here on a long road trip and the place looks like a tourist trap but don't be fooled- we were greeted warmly and seated on the coveted patio. Before we knew it we had two prickly pear mimosas in our hands and a gorgeous tri tip Benny with an amazing hollandaise sauce. Hubby had the tri tip hash and was smiling ear to ear. Not impressed by how much time it took to get our orders. Don't go unless you don't mind wasting an hour only to have one of the meals served cold. In all fairness, the fish and chips was quickly replaced. Food is just OK. Seems like a lot of employees in a very small kitchen. read more

What a disappointment...how are you going to claim to be fine dining when your whole menu is finger food and mostly fried? The restaurant is in a gift shop it feels wrong and way to hot in that place. Have been to Ajace 3 times with my friend. Have enjoyed each time immensely. Food and service are amazing! First time we split the Benedict and Onion Tart. Benedict has a pork loin instead of Canadian Bacon and it was really good. Spicy mimosas were delightful! Second time my friend had their Chick'n & Waffle and she said both the chicken and the waffles were amazing. She absolutely loved the maple/bourbon syrup. I had the the b.l.t.a. and fries. The fries were best I ever had. We also enjoyed the jalapeno watermelon Margaritas. So refreshing! Third time we again split the grilled cheese sandwich, and we were lucky enough to be there when they had fresh baked jalapeno bread which was amazing and really added something very special to the grilled cheese with the caramelized onions and bacon tomato jam. Plus we each had a cup of their tomato soup which was totally amazing. Unfortunately, I do not know the name of our wait person who we've had all 3 times, but he always remembers us, knows I love spicy, and has always been great, but he recommended a bottle of Chianti type wine that was smooth and lovely, and it was local, which I love. My friend took a bottle home for her Valentine party! We've never been disappointed with the food or service at Ajace! read more

I already put in a review last week, but in summary, I'll just say Ajace has a beautiful setting, very nice employees, but menu is limited and prices are high. Worst of all, adding a 25 percent gratuity to the bill for 7 people is outlandish! read more
