Very disappointed after being a customer of Happiness Nails for many years…read more For years, Happiness Nails gave customers stamps for paying cash, with the promise of earning free services after a certain number of visits. Because of that incentive, I repeatedly went out of my way to make sure I had cash with me when I came in. Paying cash is not normally my preference, but I made the extra effort specifically because of the rewards program they offered. I accumulated 16 stamps on my physical cards. More recently, they stopped giving stamps and told me that cash-paid services were being tracked in their computer system instead. I actually thought this was convenient because I wouldn't have to worry about keeping track of cards anymore. When I finally brought in my cards to redeem my rewards, I was told they no longer honor them. Their computer also showed 2 additional cash-paid services, meaning I had 16 physical stamps plus 2 additional qualifying services in their own system. At first, I was told that the old stamps had also been given for credit-card payments. That is absolutely not how the program was presented to me or how I earned my stamps. They were an incentive for paying cash. The employee at the front checked with the owners, or so he said. After years of patronage, 16 stamps, 2 additional cash services in their own system, and all the times I went out of my way to bring cash specifically to participate in their rewards program, their solution was a $5 discount. I never would have expected anything simply for being a longtime customer. But when a business offers a rewards program that influences how customers choose to pay, I do expect the business to honor the rewards those customers earned. That is what disappoints me most. I made the effort to uphold my end of their rewards program, but when it came time to redeem what I had accumulated, the business did not uphold what I understood to be its end. I have referred quite a few friends to Happiness Nails over the years. After this experience, I will not be returning, and I will be sharing my experience with the people I referred. My gel overlay manicure was great, which I had an appointment for. The pedicure is the issue. They added me in for the pedicure, for which I waited (they notified me that there was going to be a wait, which I was fine with, but I would've been okay without the pedicure if they told me they didn't have room/time.) So I had a classic pedicure with them, removing my previously grown out gel pedicure and asked for a natural pedicure, expecting the usual cut, toe nail filing/ shaping, and cuticle trimming. My nail tech cut the nails, but basically did a hack job on cutting them. It looked like I cut them at home. No filing them even, no shaping whatsoever -- just a messy slather of nail strengthener over my toenails. And this wasn't the first time I didn't get a color polish on my toenails/got a natural pedicure here. I think I already had a feeling when I was leaving that my pedicure wasn't that great but I couldn't really see in the dim lighting, and I was already delayed in needing to pump (breastmilk) so the engorgement/pumping was the more pressing matter on my mind of needing to get out of the nail salon. So I acknowledge it was my fault for not speaking up, but the services provided should be consistent enough that I don't have to be watching my nail tech like a hawk. Edit: when a business owner replies to your review, and basically says it takes time to achieve a "certain look", I think that's ridiculous, and frankly, a problem. Like I said, I've been here plenty of times and have gotten clear polish/pedicures at THIS LOCATION, especially when I came to THIS LOCATION when I was pregnant this past year and couldn't reach my feet. My toenails were long and grown out (43 days since my last pedicure) so the nail tech had plenty to work with.
