Last summer we had an issue where build up in our AC drip line caused the safety switch to turn off the AC unit. Ed helped us out that day and I felt his price was incredibly reasonable. He was kind and walked me through this issues so I could take care of it if it ever happened again. Fast forward to today, same issue occurred. Ed is fantastic. He's an honest guy and it shows in his work and personality. I had an issue with my AC and Ed came out on the agreed upon time and was prepared to work. After troubleshooting he was able to get my system up and running but wasn't quite sure he fixed the issue since I have a Nest thermostat which act funny at times. At no time did Ed try to up-sell anything and since he wasn't 100% sure if he'd need to come back out he didn't charge us until later when I called back to let him know all was well. Another good thing about Ed is that he keeps a database on all his customers systems so he'll have a record of work done, whether or not they will continue to be customers. I highly recommend AirWerks and am a customer for life. Showed up on time to evaluate an AC repair. Helped work through the math on repair vs. replace and guided towards repair, which I believe was the right call. Work was completed the same day and system is already cooling. This all happened on the 2nd hottest day in the summer of 2018 (so far) and the day after the hottest day on record, so I'm sure he was in demand. I should have written a review 3 years ago on the great job Airwerks did on replacing the worn out heat pump & air handler in the attic of my 1989 home. I'm not putting it off any longer however after the very positive experience I had this past weekend with Ed Guttes and his company, Airwerks. This past Friday night the drain line on the air handler clogged, filling the pan with water and triggering the automatic shut off switch to turn the entire system off. It worked just as it was designed to. This happened while I was out of town with only my teenage daughter at home during one of our regular 100+ degree heat waves so I was somewhat in a panic. I reached out to Ed on Saturday morning hoping to leave a message to call back so I could ask what I might do to fix the issue myself when I got home. That certainly wasn't necessary. Not only did Ed pick up the phone early Saturday morning, within 30 minutes he was at my house doing the repair himself. Within an hour we were up and running with the house cooling off. I was absolutely impressed 3 years ago with the level of knowledge and professionalism when I replaced my system and am doubly so after this weekend. The level of customer care is astounding. It was out of the ordinary in my view but I suspect not unusual at all for Ed. Aside from the clogged line (which had nothing to do with the equipment or Ed's prior work), the system that Airwerks installed has been working flawlessly and I couldn't be happier. Ed Guttes of AirWerks has serviced on our Trane Heat Pump/AC system twice over the last 5 years and has done stellar work. The first time was when the blower went out on a 10 year old Trane System and today, a Sunday, and Father's Day the AC stopped blowing cool. We were expecting to go till tomorrow without AC, but he returned my call promptly and came out. The drain from the overflow had clogged and the float switch activated. We heard rave reviews about AirWerks on our neighborhood listserv. When our upstairs a/c fizzled out on a hot day about a month ago, we called Ed and he was able to fit us in early the next day, fix the problem (which fortunately turned out to be minor) and charged an extremely reasonable price. When our downstairs unit stopped running a few days ago, we didnt hesitate to call AirWerks again. I left a message at around 6pm and Ed returned my call about 20 minutes later and scheduled his partner to come out at 8am the next day. He arrived promptly, diagnosed the issue, investigated options and gave us a few choices. This time it was a costlier repair, but the cost was very fair and we so appreciated his willingness to explore a whole range of options rather than just "we need to do X and it will cost y." Also, as a courtesy they inspected the upstairs unit (it was warmer than it should have been upstairs) and found it to be low on coolant, saving us another visit in a few weeks. Keeping my fingers crossed that we're done with a/c issues for a while, but if anything comes up I'm definitely going to call AirWerks! read more
