As soon as entered the door I was greeted by Ray Long. This gentlemen was one of the most friendly and helpful person Ive experienced in any retail setting. He was super knowledgeable and just simply nice. This trait is hard to find in this type of setting. This was just minutes before they closed for the day but you couldnt tell by Ray's great attitude. He starts off with he is not the expert on outdoor kitchen appliances and basically just reads the signs to you. We picked out what we wanted and sat down to get an estimate with Dan. He entered the wrong sku and if I wouldn't not have said a word we would have paid double for what we didn't even ask for. We asked about the grill coming with everything we need and he assured us it did. Well..... you guessed it, the hose that connects the grill to the natural gas spicket that was already built in to the home does not come with the grill. I called Metro Appliance back and spoke with the expert who had to call the Blaze rep and call me back and was not giving me the correct information for what I was asking. I called Blaze myself to get the answers I need. Metro Appliance does not sell what you need to go with the grill so I ordered it off of Amazon for the win and it will be here in a day. If I never have to walk in this store again I would be a very happy camper. We're painting the whole interior, and I want to do it all at once. I've painted in the past, but I've always used Behr's Marquee and Premium Plus Ultra, but after reading a LOT of information online I decided I should give Sherwin Williams a try. So, I took the time to read up on what I could and packed the wife and baby in the car so we could go talk to one of the 'professionals' that are mentioned in most reviews. The people always say how it's such a value to have a professional who only deals with paint whom you can speak with at a SW, so I thought that would be nice! I'd love to talk to a pro! To say that I ended up talking to the least qualified person would be an understatement. This young man came up and was about as helpful as a touchscreen kiosk would have been, except that he didn't actually know anything about the paint. I asked him what the difference was between 'Emerald' and 'Duration' product lines and his response was, verbatim, "Emerald is our best and Duration is not too bad".... "Not too bad"? What kind of employees says that about their own product line?? By my count SW has about 9 or so product lines. So if Emerald is the 'best' and Duration is 'not too bad' then what does that make the other 7 or so products? Total trash? Garbage paint? When I pressed him for the differences he basically just repeated the same line about Emerald being the 'best'. The best at what? Color? Coverage? Durability? Uniformity? Needless to say, this was not the experience I expected. SW had the chance to explain to me the benefits of their paint, teach me something I didn't know, guide me in the right direction and make me a customer for life. They dropped the ball. Completely. I'm baffled that a company would place such uninformed and unhelpful people at the front lines like this. I left the building with the thought that I, a steel salesman, know more about paint than these "pros". What a shame.
