Worked these folks several months ago. Great service and responsiveness. Pricing wasn't too bad…read morealso. We requested a HVAC repair and expected to get completely rinsed based on other quotes, but to our pleasant surprise it was relatively fair. Only issue I'd say is that the job itself took longer than expected.

Jary (who helped us when we first moved in) came out on Tuesday and said we had a leak somewhere since the closed-system unit was totally out of coolant. He came back Weds. to do the leak detection and found the leak, recommended a new coil. We had the new coil installed on Friday; this time it was Ricardo and team that did the work installing the coil. They did a great job and a couple hours later our house was back to normal temperature. Gabriel helped us with all the coordination and estimates and seeing if the part was still under warranty (it wasn't, but I didn't expect it would be honestly.) No one likes spending a bunch of money on repairs but I'm very confident that the recommendations Jary made were sound and correct. He did not attempt to upsell me at all, which is greatly appreciated. (The estimates Gabriel sent did include options for replacing the unit, but that wasn't necessary at this time and there was no pressure to do so.) I will continue to call them if we have issues in future with our HVAC system.

I explained that while I am no expert, there being a steady drip of water coming from my AC onto the basement floor seemed to be a problem. The woman helping me offered up that perhaps I should check my filters, but we could go ahead and schedule an appointment anyway, which could be cancelled if that was all it was. It's summer and I expected them to be backed up with calls. I was given the option to have a visit the following Wednesday, or someone could come by on Saturday morning first thing, though it would be at the emergency rate. I went with the latter. Ivan showed up Saturday morning, introduced himself and had the clog issue figured out within minutes. He explained what he was going to do to take care of it, and got to work. When done, he let me know other issues needed to be addressed, but it would be less costly if I scheduled those outside of this visit and also weren't necessary to fix the issue I had originally called about. He explained point by point what else they would do if I decided to set up the additional appointment, how long it would take, and the price. I paid my bill with Ivan, and was sent an electronic receipt with the plan. Ivan departed and the leak was fixed. All is well. Fantastic service.

Environmental Systems Associates replaced my furnace, air conditioner, and water heater years ago…read more I was happy with the work and equipment, and I thought the price was fair for quality work. A friend is convinced that I overpaid, but ESA was comparable to other quotes I was given. Recently, I smelled gas by my water heater - I had to be very close to smell it. Some people online say this is common, but I didn't want to take the risk, so I had ESA come out to check. They told me it was an issue, replaced the "bad" part they identified, and charged me $945. The new part also smelled like gas. I reached out to the manufacturer, Bradford White, and found that this is normal. I reached out to ESA to discuss their mistaken diagnosis and unnecessary replacement.. I called three times and sent three emails, but the only response I got was "someone will call this afternoon." Nobody called that afternoon or any other. In the end I had to issue a chargeback through my credit card company. I do not plan to work with ESA in the future. Edit: I've reached out, per the comment below.

Two weeks later, on 5/18, the air conditioning stopped working. They market themselves as 24-hour, so I called 5 times that evening. They have a system for screening their calls. I communicated several times that this was an urgent concern, as I have 5 pets who would be intolerant of the 100-degree heat forecast for the following day. Even after dark, my house was 85 degrees. After those calls, I received no calls back. The next morning, on 5/19, I scheduled a morning appointment with Greenfox and then chatted with them via their chat system. The person on the chat assured me that this was a concern. They reported that they marked my appointment as urgent and would register a complaint with the company on my behalf. They assured me that the tech would leave and arrive at my house by 8am. 8am came and went with no call or contact from Greenfox. I logged on to the chat again and spoke with another agent and recounted everything that had happened previously. They said they could do nothing but make appointments on the chat. I said that I did that morning and was told the appointment would be around 8. They said I would have to call the office. I told them that I already had 5 times, and I received no return call. The chat said there was nothing they could do. I then spent time I could have been working calling other companies to try to get service, as the house was getting close to 80 degrees at 9:30 AM. A tech from Greenfox eventually arrived at around 11:15. The company never called me back at all; they didn't let me know he was coming. I received an automated text that the tech was coming 15 minutes after he arrived. He found the issue, which should have been discovered two weeks earlier at the servicing appointment. The tech then left, saying, "I'll send you the invoice." No discussion. The tech then charged us $245 for a problem that should have been caught during the initial service we already paid for. Getting an annual service from this company is useless. It appears they didn't thoroughly review for potential issues, which has left my AC not working on the hottest days of the year so far. There was no consideration on the second bill for the poor work of the technician who came out to service. They don't answer phone calls. They don't call anyone back. They don't let you know a tech is coming. Their chat responses are, at minimum, disingenuous and, at worst, outright lies. And then they still charge you double, even though it was their error. There are far better and more reliable companies in the area, with whom I will be contracting going forward.
