On time Julian and Jeff came out, did an entire house inspection, and got to work. They couldn't complete the entire house in one day, but since I have 2 bathrooms in my house, they completed all the house except the master bathroom, leaving us for the night with one working bathroom. Julian and Jeff came back early the next day to complete the job. This cheap piping was all through this house, but they replaced all the inside piping with proper copper everywhere, bathrooms, showers, tubs, kitchen, laundry, water heater... all copper, all professionally installed. I remembered that conversation two nights ago when our house reached 85°. We called D & H and Moises and Isaiah were here first thing in the morning. They checked the condenser-- measuring outputs and levels of various aspects, and, at my request, shared all the information with my husband and me. It was apparent that our twelve-year-old air conditioner had died. Moises called his boss on speaker phone in our living room so that all of us had input on the brand we would get and how much the new system would cost. We worked out a fair deal for all of us. Imagine our surprise when Jeremy and Caleb showed up just an hour or so later and quickly got to work! These two men worked though the 105° heat with no complaints in order to give us a much cooler house that night. They double-checked their work, measuring the temperature coming from the vents, made sure the furnace worked, and, despite their exhaustion, hauled away all the boxes, old A/C unit and various pieces of trash that someone else was supposed to have done. I don't know that we've ever had better, more considerate or thorough workers than those two! I'm so glad I eavesdropped on the man in the blood test lab that day because I believe we DID indeed find the best air conditioning company in Tucson!

After the tune-up, the technician presented me with different yearly maintenance membership options. I selected the option that was approximately $192 per year. To be clear, I HAVE NO ISSUE WITH THAT CHARGE. That is the membership I agreed to. The problem is an additional charge of $367.64 for a coil guard that the technician installed. During the visit, the technician never clearly disclosed to me that the coil guard would cost an additional $367.64. The way everything was explained to me made it seem as though the work being discussed was included with the membership/service I had just agreed to. I was handed the technician's tablet and asked to sign. There was no paperwork placed in front of me explaining that I was authorizing a separate $367.64 purchase. There was no printed estimate, no itemized explanation that I could review, and I did not receive an email or text showing what I had signed that day. I trusted the technician to properly explain what I was agreeing to. When someone comes into your home as the professional, you naturally rely on them to educate you and clearly disclose what something is going to cost BEFORE doing the work and asking for a signature. Instead, I later discovered that the $367.64 coil guard charge had been added. When I spoke with the manager, he explained that because I had signed the technician's tablet, he did not believe the charge could be reversed. That response is extremely concerning to me. A signature does not change the fact that I was never clearly told, "This coil guard is an additional $367.64 charge separate from your membership. Do you authorize us to install it for that amount?" Had that been clearly explained to me, I would have known exactly what I was purchasing and could have made an informed decision. What makes the situation even more frustrating is that I NEVER received a copy of what I signed on the day of the transaction. No paperwork. No email. No text. Nothing showing the breakdown of the charges. Only AFTER I filed a complaint and the manager contacted me was I finally sent a copy of what they say I had signed. That should not be how a transaction like this works. I personally feel that I was taken advantage of because I trusted the technician's explanation and guidance. Whether intentional or not, the $367.64 charge was not clearly disclosed to me in a way that allowed me to knowingly agree to it. I also previously mentioned that I had not received the air filters that were discussed with me as part of the membership, nor had I received proper follow-up communication regarding the membership. My advice to anyone considering doing business with D&H is simple: DO NOT rely solely on what the technician verbally tells you. Before signing ANYTHING on one of their tablets, ask them to stop and show you an itemized breakdown of every single charge. Ask exactly what is included in the membership and what costs extra. Take pictures of the screen if necessary, and demand that a copy of everything you sign be emailed or texted to you immediately. I also never received the promised air filters or proper follow-up. My advice: do not sign anything on their tablets without seeing a full itemized breakdown and getting a copy immediately. The $192 membership was not the issue. The issue was the additional $367.64 charge that was never clearly explained to me, and I did not receive a copy of what I signed until after I complained.
