I can't recommend Dance Connection highly enough! My husband and I worked with Laurie for the first…read moredance at our wedding. We had so much fun in both the group and private sessions. We wanted to learn basic dance moves to look comfortable, but didn't want something too choreographed. Laurie created the perfect routine for us. She patiently taught us several new moves and made us feel comfortable enough that we didn't need to memorize the entire routine step by step. For others looking for wedding dance lessons - there are a lot of chains where the teachers are basically salespeople. They'll upsell you on 10, 20, and more classes and urge you to go with a routine that's not customized. Laurie and Dance Connection are the opposite. We had such a wonderful time, and we've even signed up for more lessons since the wedding.

The first dance was something my husband and I were very anxious about before we met Laurie. From…read morethe very first phone call, all of our worries melted away. Laurie is not only an amazing instructor, but she seamlessly connects with people to understand their comfort level, what excites them about the dance, and what makes the couple connect. Our choreo was fun, intuitive, and best of all, us. Our first dance is one of the highlights of our day and none of it would've been possible without Laurie and her love and passion for what she does. My husband and I's song is an EDM song, and I figured there was no way we could do a choreographed, formal dance to it for a wedding.. so I presented Laurie with a few options of classic songs we could use instead. Laurie encouraged us to go with "our song" and created a dance with us that worked perfectly. She is professional and organized but dynamic and able to work with couples in the way they need it. Can't wait to dance with Laurie again soon!

My daughters attended a local studio for several years then it was bought out and bullying and…read moredrama flourished. When we came here and found out this would not be tolerated from parents or kids, I felt so relieved. At our old studio, in the last year of the new owner, my child's dance skills regressed. In these past few months at Next Level, all of my kids skills increased tenfold, as well as their confidence, and their anxiety lessened. My daughter was still able to be a part of the competition team and have a solo even though we were new. They believe in my kids and they care about them. We love Miss Gina, Ms. Dee, Ms. Katie, Ms.Ashley, Ms.Sharon, and Ms. Carissa. And what we have learned from the ballet teacher, Ms. Larissa, and her amazing structure and experience with Russian ballet is unmatched. She is strict but my daughter adores her because she cares so much. In the past, she hated ballet, now she wants private lessons with her - she is a miracle worker! I highly recommend this school!!!!

She also loves the fact that she has gotten to be part of the performing team, something her old place didn't have. So far, we've performed in Matawan Day and will be also performing at a nursing home for Christmas. As a former dancer and dance instructor, I am highly impressed with the teachers, instruction and choreography at this school.

Dance Dance Dance - Beautiful costumes for first recital. Loved this dance school for my little ones.

This dancing school came highly recommended from one of the girls I work with. She is a former…read morestudent that danced for a long time with this studio. There are two sisters that own the company and they are so sweet... In the dance business for over 30 years. This was my first year with them and I have two little beginner dancers. There are girls and boys (not many... but they are there) in the classes. Our classes ran from september till June. The school is reasonable and if you miss your scheduled lesson, you have the option to make it up on an alternate day as long as the same age group has a class - only problem is the different day may be doing a different routine. We just had our first dance recital. The costumes were priced reasonably and they were beautiful. The recital was at CSI and the venue was very nice for all. I really love all the instructors and the staff. I will be re-enrolling my girls here in the fall and highly reccomend this dance school to beginner dance families and experienced. They have extra classes in addition to tap and ballet and extra dance companies and clinics. Don't hesitate to enroll here!

I respect others opinion but I like to express mine when it comes to sending my daughter to Dance,…read moreDance, Dance... I understand some of the reasoning behind teachers not wanting parents to watch during classes: I am totally against allowing parents to watch the class each week. I believe parents watching the class is a real distraction for the children. After all it is a 'class' where the children are learning... you aren't allowed to sit and watch your children at primary/high school to ensure they are progressing and behaving. Most teachers like myself are happy to talk to parents after class if they have any queries about their child. I am VERY against parents watching! Whenever they come into the room, they watch so closely and carefully, and all the girls get distracted by them! I don't think that parents should be able to watch dance classes, and thankfully they don't at the dance school my daughter attends. Dancing is a SCHOOL. DO parents watch their children 24/7 at SCHOOL? I don't think so! Dancing should be just the same! * If you watch the classes every week, then by the time the concert has come, parents aren't surprised and entertained by the routines. * You can't tell how much your child has improved by watching every week, as compared to once-a-year concerts or comps. * It is scary when you have, say 15 parents watching you closely each week. It leaves no time for imagination in class, and it all has to be work, work, work otherwise the parents might get angry. * If a student just started and is not doing well since it's their first time, they don't want 15 parents staring at then. This will prevent the child/ren not to participate because all eyes are on her. Having parents stay in the dance class is easily distracted and tends to make other students nervous. I think this is part of the reason's parents are not allowed to watch. Having been in both situations, I would say it's better for the parents to not watch, because otherwise it makes it so much harder for the child As far as the staff. I love that they are straight to the point. Yes, it may come off to some parents as if they are being rude but trust me, they are not. They don't sugar coat anything. They care about what they are doing. I love that they are an actual dance school that teaches just as if they were in a classroom. The structure they provided allows the students to build character and believe in themselves. We are the biggest critics when we are looking at our children at dance. Enough to get upset because we feel they are not paying attention. This could live a big impact on your child/ren because now they don't know who is correct you the parent or the teacher who is certified to teach the class. Ms. Melluzzo
