Ms Jasmine was nice and caring and gave bandages for her wound. Today we found out a small piece of wood still left in her front calf. This concerns us. I wrote an email to notice the manager about the dance floor being old and having some cracks and hope they can do something to fix the floor. I do not wish this happens to any kids again. Keeping in mind how tough it is to wrangle a roomful of tots, the dance instructor was impressive in her focus and engagement, laying the foundation of a classic ballet experience. Music included some of the childhood classic tunes we all know by heart, as well as classical piano standards and even a lovely instrumental version of "Here Comes the Sun." Even when a few of the children began to become distracted, our instructor managed to ramp up the interest level with ribbons and participatory exercises. Getting just one kid to pay attention is a big enough challenge, so I was in awe to see what a pro could do. Immediately, we felt like we had been welcomed into a little community. All the staff members we encountered were friendly and helpful, which I especially appreciate in such a chaotic situation as a herd of families arriving and a little bewildered. My only wish is that the space were larger, but otherwise this is a wonderful neighborhood dance school. Well done!

Our daughter loves all the teachers, especially Samantha whom she started with when she was in Kindergarten. The Nutcracker performance that the children dance in is such a special opportunity for them to experience dancing at a professional level with NY City Ballet performers and it's truly a magical show. We enrolled her just in time for her to be a part of their summer production of The Wiz. The school is packed with beautiful faces from every walk of life and ages from 3 to 60... dancing and loving dance. All under the tutelage of Karisma Jay who we affectionately call "Ms. Karisma" (even the parents). She is the reincarnation of Angela Simms but only here in real life. She's tough but loving and nurturing... she instills a sense of discipline in even the smallest little ones and they love dance as a beautiful by product. The summer "dance concert" was this past Sunday at the time of this review and I am floored by how professional, bold, confident, improvisational and unafraid these young dancers were. We all expected some version of stage fright from someone... ANYONE??? NOT. ONE. STUDENT. They knew that if they stumbled or forgot or messed up.... the show must go on and to rely on their dance family. My daughter practiced endlessly - every night before we went to sleep she'd practice a little piece of the performance and tell me the names of the movements and everything. I am so ABUNDANTLY grateful for the presence of this school in my daughter's life. She has a little dance family in AbunDance that I pray she'll grow with and foster amazing friendships within.
