I reiterated to her that I was in the right place and we were looking forward to this class. She continued being abrasive and giving zero guidance about how to "sign up" in the future if necessary. It was clear she just didn't want us there. After gathering my things and picking up my sobbing daughter she made a comment about me having an attitude and I told her to f*ck off. Wish I could give her zero stars. I have no idea why anyone would subject their child to this place.

Though I was new to the Bollywood style of dancing, I loved every minute of class! It was a non-stop, head-to-toe workout, that left you wanting more even if you were wiped out. The instructor was high energy and the playlist was so fun. We danced about 5-6 songs and were instructed to follow our teacher's steps. Warning to those who haven't been to a dance class, the steps aren't broken down into segments. It's more of a watch and get right into the steps all at once. The class ended with a 5 minute ab series in sync with the music and a cool down. Classes are typically $15 for a drop in and they have a full schedule of classes ranging from ballet to Africand dance. I'll definitely be back for more!

I have not taken a dance class with this studio per se, but have taken classes here with an instructor who rents the space. The dance studio is small, but well kept with clean bathrooms, a clear entrance way and space to maneuver. The studio has nice wooden floors and large mirrors, always convenient for practicing dance and rehearsing a choreographed piece. I did take off one star because the space is quite small and when the room gets full it's difficult to "let loose" and branch out as a dancer. I found that it can feel cramped with upwards of 12 adults in the room. Nonetheless, this is NYC and space is hard to come by anywhere! All in all, a conveniently located, well maintained studio that is perfect for small dance classes and workshops.

Puppetworks make fairy tales come to life through marionette puppetry, offering hour-long performances geared to kids that will charm everyone in the audience. Kids are encouraged to sit on rugs in front of the stage, while adults and other kids can also sit on the sides and back of the event space. Dozens of beautiful, colorful marionettes of all sizes hang from the wall, giving the impression that they are also part of the audience. The performance itself is professionally curated: the story, the voices, the sound effects, the music, the scenery, and the lights. Artistic Director Nicolas Coppola and his crew clearly put a lot of passion in their work, and it shows in the production. I was definitely impressed. Kids loved it, of course, with lots of active participation during the show. Plus, at the end of the show, Mr. Coppola came out of the stage with a marionette for the kids to meet. Since 1980 Puppetworks offer fun entertainment for kids and family in the neighborhood. Tickets are currently $10 for children, and $11 for adult. You reserve your tickets in advance[1] and pay at the door. As a parent, I also appreciate the fact that they offer performances on school closure days. They also offer interactive in-school presentations for Pre-K classes, and school shows for groups of 20 or more persons every weekday. ------------------------------ [1] Call 718-965-3391, or e-mail to: puppetworksinfo@gmail.com.
