Old school multiplex. Cheap matinee prices. Affordable concession stand. Was in theater 3 for a matinee of MaXXXine. Which was probably reminiscent of these type of theaters. Place seemed clean. Sound was good. AC worked good. Seats were comfy updated (rocking) style. Maybe 4 people total in the matinee. Didn't care for the neighborhood aspect around it and don't see myself going back.

Nice theater. The interior design has changed a lot since the last time I was here. Still the same old Alpine the moment you walk down to the theater rooms. Classic.

This theater opened up in 1921 and they keep it beautiful. They redid all the seats so they are angled now and comfortable leather and the matinee is only $7 pp. Love it!!!

I have been coming to the Alpine since I was a young girl. The improvements they have made have been amazing and although I miss the old cozy features of what made Alpine... well, Alpine- I do however, appreciate the fact that the ticket is only $11.00 and the staff go above and beyond for their guest. From scanning your online confirmation barcode (to receive your paper ticket), concessions and ticket check you are treated with care and tremendous hospitality. Theaters are clean and seats are comfy! Tried to take photos, but my hands were full of snacks. What makes me happier is that the staff is made up of young adults from the local neighborhoods nearby. This means a lot to me as someone born and still located in the area.

It offers a more intimate, neighborhood cinema experience with comfortable seating, staggered seating arrangements in some theaters, and often features discounted tickets on certain days, making it a popular local spot. ' Cobble Hill is a landmark, and yes, love supporting an independent theatre. There is a time and a place for "stadium seating" however, there is something to be said for a small theatre. I really like the idea of just 50 people sharing this intimate space. I really feel as if I'm in my living room watching the movie. The theater has been renovated over the years and I must say the seating is comfy, a bit elevated thus no " big head" issues, very clean especially the bathrooms. The popcorn is still delicious and I see they have an add butter "faucet" which has been recently added. CH still offers discounts on Tuesdays and Thursdays; used to be $9 back in the day. Then they failed to refund the full amount paid, which included a "service fee". Wasted 2 hours of my and my 5yo son's day in transit, and getting the refund, as well as paying for overpriced popcorn and candy only to be partially refunded for their failure. Unbelievably bad customer service. No shade on the staff (they actually asked me to write this review because "the management doesn't care about them") who were obviously placed in a bad spot. This is all on the management who are running the theater with unethical business practices. Do not go here. Update: They refunded me the service charge, but failed to answer any of my questions as to whether they'd refund others who didn't complain or would change their policy.

The seats recently became all recliners--something that only accounts for part of the AMC theaters and almost none of the Regal ones--and the auditorium I watched Mandalorian and Grogu in (Theater 6) used Dolby Atmos sound. I actually didn't find it too loud, especially compared to some of my experiences at AMC. The pre-show was also really nice and invoked nostalgia--a refreshing departure from the typical experience which now includes product commercials on top of trailers. FOOD I am usually pretty satisfied with the food; my go-to was the chicken sandwich. This time, I tried the Mandalorian and Grogu special menu: harissa ground beef wrap, chicken bacon quesadilla and kid pistachio shake. I was pleasantly surprised how their themed food also hit the spot while being reasonably priced! Now, for the criminal offense: the salt & vinegar popcorn. $12 for nearly inedible food that was extremely vinegary and salty. The only pieces that were fine were the goldfish crackers, but otherwise there was no saving it.

The theater reminded me of what it used to be going to the theater. We were in Theater 3 and the entry was arched and the theater was ornate. I entered and two engineers or project managers? were speaking and I stated " Wow, this is really cool!". They smiled and said "This is Day 3 of the cinema opening". I was in a popcorn and soda mood, picked my snacks up at the Concession Stand and walked to my movie room. I walked down a sleek hall with round leather "pouf" orange ottomans; perfect to sit and wait outside for your movie to start. I love the movie theaters that are small and sleek... oohhh what have we here? Leather seating, leg room, big screen and less crowds!" The popcorn and soda were fresh and delicious. The entire staff were wonderful and courteous. BAM is surrounded by cool restaurants like Olea and Miss Ada, Apple for shopping, and nearby Atlantic Avenue Mall. I haven't been a regular moviegoer as I used to be, COVID unfortunately impacted that habit. The staff came across as nonchalant and not very engaged, which set the tone right away. The food didn't help either--the spicy tuna was completely flavorless, not crispy and the drinks were underwhelming. We also weren't told ahead of time that you have to pick up your food and drinks yourself, which was surprising since we're used to full service at your seat. On the positive side, the popcorn and truffle fries were decent, but everything else fell short. The seats were just okay--not particularly comfortable. The bathroom situation was also frustrating--it's located upstairs near the restaurant and wasn't well maintained. There were no paper towels, and overall cleanliness was lacking. Overall, this felt like a subpar experience, and I won't be returning. My cousin mentioned the New Jersey location is much better, so maybe it's just this one--but based on this visit, I wouldn't recommend it.

I usually go to Regal theaters but I'm a free AMC Stubs member. They gave me some free things for my birthday so I wanted to indulge! Very easy to get to with the 3rd Avenue stop on the L 3 blocks away and the Union Square stop a short distance as well. The theater is huge but each floor isn't, if that makes any sense. There are several long and skinny floors. The concessions are right directly when you come in. So if you want popcorn or other items, you have come down to the ground floor to get them. As a free Stubs member, I got a free large popcorn and free fountain drink for my birthday, which were so nice to have free! They have the popcorn at the front, waiting already in buckets/bags. Not freshly poping like at other theaters. Which makes me wonder how long its been lying there for! It tasted fine, though. The one HUGE plus that the AMC theaters have for me is the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines. To have that much variety for your fountain drinks is fantastic. The first floor has just the restrooms. Which were decently clean, but cramped. The second had the theater my movie was playing in, auditorium 3. It also had the freestyle machine. Nice and convenient that I didnt have to go 2 flights down to fill my cup. The theater was huge, in a wide way. Lots of seating and a very large screen. Seats are comfy. One complaint is the seat next to mine was broken and didnt recline. Theater was clean with no signs of vermin. Which I've encountered at other NYC theaters. You could hear another movie through the wall. It was annoying, but tolerable. The experience was pleasant and I wouldn't hesitate to return to see another movie here in the future. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, if you're a free member, tickets are discounted and there's a waived convenience fee when you buy on the AMC app. Highy recommend becoming a free member. Well worh it.
