PROS - Location - Parking - Ability to Pick Up Package CONS - Service Located in the Deer Valley Shopping Center near the new DD's Discount and Subway is AIM Mail Center. This review was for my visit on Tuesday, September 11 at 5:20pm. There is plenty of parking, especially since that shopping center is not as busy as it used to be. AIM itself is a long, skinny unit with enough space necessary for what they provide. To the left upon entering is the mailbox units you can rent out (ie PO Box), and throughout the center until you get to the counter in the back is random office type objects like envelopes, cards, composition books, mailing supplies, stamps, etc. I made my way to the back counter and saw one lady waiting so I took my place behind her and looked at the items on the center display shelves. One employee was sitting to the counter on the right with two customers working on notarizing paperwork. As I stood at the counter in line, I found for a good 5 minutes that both of us had not been acknolwedged yet. This only bothered me because I heard two employees standing in the back just talking, and not work related.. with one of them standing in the doorway and visible to us meaning she could also see us. Once the employee at the notary counter got to a point where he could step away from the customers getting notarized (so they could read and review the documents before signing), he rushed over to our counter and quickly helped the lady before me and then helped me retrieve my husband's package that no one was home to sign for the day prior. WOULD I RETURN? Personally, I am not one to mail out too many packages, and I usually go straight to the post office to the self-service kiosk. My husband ordered himself a Christmas present that turned out to be the wrong thing. Ok well this is perfect timing because everyone is probably trying to return things. This particular package was one that I have to pay to ship back. Great! I chose this obscure location because I figured this type of store probably wouldn't be as busy as the post office. I was second in line to a woman trying to fax something to Mexico and couldn't get the number right. So the wonderful clerk multitasked his butt off and measured my box in order to pack it in another box with popcorn. I brought my own tape in but he used theirs which they charge $2.00 per use. I was not happy about that considering my roll of tape was sitting right there. I'm not going to say what the final total was because it was obscene for returning a package. But it was worth making my husband happy and considering what was in the package was worth almost $200 and I got a tracking number and even a confirmation of delivery. Super personable and helpful! I came to get my passport photo taken and mail in the renewal application. They were very patient with my when taking the photo, as I wanted to fix my hair and retake several times. I had the application already filled out and was able to send it USPS Priority Mail at their location. I labeled the envelope and then he printed another label and had me check that it was correct. We used them to not only receive our mail, but also to ship packages and as a notary. After we moved to Southern California, they continued to forward our mail for a full year afterwards, and we never had to worry if we were missing something important. I highly recommend AIM! Poor service. Went there for the first time and they could not find one of my mails. When they eventually did and shipped it to my house address, it was completely ripped open on one side and partially on the other. I was told that's how they received it the USPS delivery person. Why would they accept my mail that way is something I don't understand. They did not even call me to let me know, instead they just sent it to me that way until I received it and called them to ask why they sent me such a mail. Pretty sure I got way overcharged for sending my package. From now on I am going to straight to USPS, UPS or FEDEX directly and not sending anything from one of these ripoff mail centers. I've had to make frequent visits to the post office for work lately, sometimes as much as twice a day. I'm not sure if they put post office people on a weird diet, or maybe its just frowned upon to be anything other than robotic. Thankfully I found this AIM Mail Center. The people at the counter are always courteous, its right down the street from my office, and it sure beats standing in line at the post office.
