8/19/2013 - @ 6pm - What a pleasant surprise. The Egg Rolls and Crab Rangoon appetizers were excellent. The flavors and freshness of all the food were that of a high end establishment. The booths and tables were all very clean. The staff was friendly and the food came in a timely manner piping hot. We ordered the Pork Fried Rice, Mongolian Beef, and Honey Chicken for our main course. All three were as good as it gets. The Pork Fried Rice was piled high and loaded with tender pieces of pork. The Mongolian Beef was plentiful and delicious. I never seen an order of chicken that large ever from a Chinese restaurant! You are certainly thinking an order that large could not possible be good but you are wrong! It was wonderful. I see no need to go to a high end Chinese place as long as Aikou is putting out food this good at these prices. CHEERS!! read more

The highest quality consistently, the most flavorful, and personable Chinese cuisine. Inexpensive lunch and fast service, awesome food for take home. When they showed up we were looking for a replacement for Master Wok when they moved South. Even though I no longer live in this hallowed town, this is my GO TO Chinese Restaurant. It is a very small restaurant, roughly seat 27 people, but the food is excellent. This may sound strange but when I have chinese, I want one certain thing. I want to see REAL chinese food, meaning Fungus. You get that here The portion sizes, both lunch and dinner, are ample. You get your monies worth. Even though the location isn't the greatest and the parking is limited, this is a restaurant the deserves your patronage. You will not be disappointed. read more

Okay.. So the customer service is might be lacking - but their food is freaking amazing. It's a small family owned restaurant and let's just say the whole family helps out. Honestly we've been coming here for years and their shrimp lo mein and general Tso's is probably the best I've had in Kansas City. We are always looking for a good Chinese restaurant and struggle with finding a good fit in Lee's Summit. We've tried this restaurant many of times and almost always say we won't go back but end up going back for some reason or another. This past Friday was truly it for us. The lady is always rude, not sure she intends to be but it always comes across that way. Also, My husband got very sick within 15 minutes of eating his meal. My order was Veggie soup and Teriyaki Chicken on a stick both tasted ok but the chicken portion was small and dried out. I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

The BEST Chinese food in Lee's Summit!! The chicken is juicy and tender; it is definitely more appealing than some of the gray chicken found at other spots near by. We love the steamed dumplings here. They have a chili sauce that comes with both fried and steamed dumplings that is to die for; it's honestly drinkable. We've tried several different dishes (chicken fried rice, Lo Mein, General Tsos, garlic chicken, among others) and have thoroughly enjoyed each one. This family-owned restaurant is one we will continue to crave and continue to frequent. Their online ordering is super easy and fast. And their owner is sassy and hilarious. Horrible Horrible Horrible. They are all so rude, and unprofessional. I'm pretty sure all the good reviews are from friends and family, or owners. There is no way anyone who enjoys good service and good food gave this place more than one star. I called to place my order, a child answered the phone and it took ten minutes to get him to understand my address, and this is before I even started ordering. Once he had the address I started ordering, when out of nowhere a woman picked up and rudely said "What? What do you need? I'm here! tell me what you want" I told her my order and she was abrupt and extremely rude. I've encountered rude people before but never given a bad review. This is the worst I've ever been spoken to by someone in customer service. If I were to be spoken to like this in person I would have been super embarrassed. She also proceeded to yell at her kids while I was giving my order, then asked me to repeat it. It took a total of 20 minutes to get an order placed. Then she said ok fine see you later, no total, no time estimate. Nothing. It took over an hour to get my food. And the food wasn't even hot. It was cold-room temperature, and soggy. First I just want to say that this place has good food. But good food just isn't enough to make it great place. I have been eating from this place about 6-8 times now and today will be the final time. Anytime I call in order or go eat at this Restaurant the same lady is at front desk who is rude, nasty towards customers like we are inconvenience her coming to there restaurant to eat. Orders are never right and always have to wait extra 10 minutes to get the right food. Call in order to be delivered if food items are missing they will never bring item back out, the lady says " if you want it come get it". This time I called in order, the lady belched in my ear not one time but 2 times after telling me to hold on while she finishes her drink. Zero manners at all. read more

I normally don't write reviews but I feel this one is necessary. My boyfriend and I recently moved to Lee's Summit and had to find a new Chinese restaurant close to home! We have gone from place to place deciding which we like best. This is by far our favorite! We've got it several times but unfortunately the past two times haven't been pleasant. The first occasion I was driving home from work and wanted to place and order for carry out I was advised they were "too busy" and to call back in an hour... No thank you? Online it says they deliver so we thought we would try to order again. The lady had to look my address up to see how far we lived away from them, then she had me place my order, lastly she asked me if I could come pick it up because her driver was told to go home or I could wait longer for my food... NO?? I hate to write something so negative but it is a Sunday evening of a holiday weekend, delivery places are very busy today, you shouldn't tell your delivery driver to "go home" before the dinner rush. Hopefully you have a better experience than we did because the food really is good! read more

Great hot and sour soup. A suitable variety of dishes. Carry out works well--they recognize my phone number even though I don't go there that often. If you dine in, the vegetables in the dishes are so bright and crisp, perfect. The service is always good. the atmosphere isn't fancy but I would disagree with the label above that it's very loud. USED to be my favorite. But the last few months the food hasn't been as good (soggy eggrolls, pasty noodles, etc.) and the people seem to all be mad at each other. A child takes orders and runs the register while another runs around barefoot. They mop and move furniture while people are trying to pick up orders, like the customers are interfering with their time. I'm very sad that I can't recommend them any more, but I've waited long enough for them to get back to the good food and friendly service I enjoyed so much. read more

The customer service on the phone needs help. The delivery was fast and friendly. No serving utensils for this price is ridiculous! You give a standard for a to go order! You don't tell me that since it's being delivered to a house, you get nothing to eat with! Not worth the trouble for average food. Their delivery service is very fast. It never takes as long as it says. I used to order over the phone, but I order online now. Online delivery is very easy and lets you tip online too! Delivery is still fast and accurate every time. The food is very good quality (best in our city) and reasonably priced. I do forget sometimes that they are closed on Mondays, but it is the only day they are closed though. read more

Went for dinner - not a great experience. Service was relatively quick but they were pretty rude. The fried rice was greasy and my husbands sweet and sour pork was not very good. The generals chicken wasn't bad though, nice and crispy and the sauce was tasty. The crab rangoon was also good- crispy, light and hot. Not going back though, being served completely by the "owners"? 11 year old silent daughter was a little freaky and it was more a little more expensive than I was wanting. read more

Lots of post talk about the owners attitude. That is just her personality. Many Chinese women (and she was born in China) are very strong willed. If you take the time to get to know the family that runs the restaurant you will definitely enjoy eating in. We have watched the kids grow up over the years and just love them all. The food is the best Chinese in Lee's Summit (probably because the chef, her husband, worked at P.F. Chang before they opened their own restaurant). I really like the General's Chicken, but am ordering my second favorite, Beef with Broccoli, this evening. Give them a try, and take the time to get to know them personally. The food is really good and they are generally very fast about fixing it. Prices are a bit high in my opinion compared to any other Chinese restaurant, but this being one of the best Chinese restaurant I've had in the area, I guess the slightly higher prices are worth the better food. The lady that's always there is very rude though. Doesn't say thank you or have a nice day or anything. She's even thrown my bag down in front of me before. One of the reasons I always get it to go. I have been there a few times. I just read through some of the reviews. Some were negative, some were positive. To the negatives I completely disagree. A lot of people have been saying how they have very terrible service. Okay first of all they are not a fancy restaurant. They are a family restaurant. You have to understand that. When I went there, I felt like the service was outstanding. They were friendly, their little daughter was really sweet and also their son, it felt really welcoming. They were quick, food was amazing, and very friendly. Yes I do agree the lady who usually is there can talk loudly sometimes but that doesn't mean she is rude. Maybe u should pay more attention to what she says rather than her tone of voice sometimes. I understand sometimes you might get frustrated with your service but have u ever thought that maybe it was u that give her all the stress? I have normally had perfectly adequate service from this place, anytime someone wanted take out I told them to order from here. Today I was beyond stunned at how I was treated. I placed my order online easily enough and got a verification in my email about it being delivered before 1 PM. I waited... And waited... And waited.. I called and the girl on the other end told me first 25-30 minutes, I told her that was unacceptable as I had ordered over 40 minutes ago, she said it should arrive soon. I called again after another 10+ minutes to get a refund for my food. The girl laughed at me and told me no, then the food finally arrived, and she talked with the other women about it and again refused to give me my money back. I took the food because I had a crying toddler that wanted lunch. There was barely any soup in the bowl, the crab Rangoon was over cooked, and the rice was terrible. Not the food or the service I have been accustomed to from this place. Will not be ordering or referring anyone here again. I work in food myself and I cant imagine treating any customer this way for any reason. read more
