I really enjoyed this restaurant! I saw that a friend had eaten there and have been looking for good Chinese food in Lee's Summit. This is good Chinese food. I dined in and enjoyed the very hot Crab Rangoon and amazing sweet n sour sauce. It was thick! Loved that it wasn't runny. I ordered the Mongolian Pork, extra spicy with pork fried rice. I tried China King in Lee's Summit after seeing it voted as one of the best Chinese spots in the area, but I honestly don't agree with the hype. Ordering was a bit frustrating--you have to do it through DoorDash even for pickup, and it doesn't let you customize much. I tried to add shrimp to my fried rice by leaving a note, but I had no way of knowing if they saw it. Turns out they did add it (with a $4.50 upcharge), but I didn't find that out until I got home and opened the container. It would've been nice to be notified or asked to confirm the change as it says it will and asked your preferred way to be contacted. As for the food--it was just okay. The fried rice was super yellow and didn't have much flavor. The sweet and sour chicken was fine; the breading was a little doughy for my taste, but nothing a few minutes in the air fryer couldn't fix. It's hard to mess up sweet and sour chicken, but nothing about it stood out. They estimated a 25-30 minute wait, but my food was ready 15 minutes early and they sent a text when it was done, which I appreciated. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. If you're craving good Chinese food, I'd look elsewhere. read more

It has been a long time since I wrote a review for this place. This has been my go to Chinese for more than maybe 15 years? I always loved the General Chows and their Hunan Shrimp. I am sorry to say that after the last two times ordering General Chows that I am very disappointed. The chicken is fried tough anymore with lots of sauce. I understand that the price was raised from $9.99 for the dinner plate to $11.99 due to inflation, but if you are going to raise the price don't toughen the meat and make the plate substantially inedible. They are only accepting cash at this time and they will tell you that when you call and order food to-go. Not a big deal. Their food prices are fairly cheap and whatever I can do to lower their (and therefore my) costs I'm fine with. It was quick and efficient. My go to place here in Lee's Summit for good Chinese cuisine. Our go to in the Shrimp Egg Foo Young & broccoli on combination w/ fried rice and a pork egg roll. We also get an order of that delicious crab rangoon and garlic sauce on the side. The customer service is pretty good and the restaurant is always clean when we go in. Oh, wowza!!!! We have lived in L.S. for nearly 20 years, but only today did we try China King. We live on the south side and usually eat at China 88. Since they're closed on Mondays, we have this place a whirl, and we are so excited to have found another good Chinese food outlet in the city!!! We both ordered the Chicken & Broccoli, a side of Vegetable Lo Mein for our grandchild (who ate none of it, so we got to have it!), and Spring Rolls. Every bite was a happy one!!! Delicious! The service was good (we did takeout) with the food ready right when they said it would be. The ambience is what one would expect, very clean, well organized. We will definitely go back to China King in future so we can try the Shrimp Fried Rice, Singaporean Noodles (if they make them there), and the donuts. Great job, China King! read more

Best kung pao chicken and generals tao chicken in LS. The yellow no peas fried rice is what you'd expect for Chinese take out. They are quick every time we order take out. Their counter is a bit messy. All and all it's still our go to Chinese place. read more

Finally tried this place out. Very friendly and attentive to us while it was just after lunch rush. The crab Rangoon was fresh made and the best we've had in the KC area. It was a little sweet but darn good. The fried rice was not bad, just not my favorite. Prices were reasonable. The egg rolls were pretty decent. My son's sesame chicken was similar to my honey chicken but not as spicy. While both of us liked our food we agreed next time here we'd try something else. We were very spoiled by the place we used to live close to and nothing in town is that special. Have to say that China King is one of the best we've found so far. Prices were very reasonable and the food was hot and fresh. This is a small place and obviously they do more take out than eat in. The interior it's a little generic and nothing remarkable. I only kept coming here because of my Chinese food addiction and the fact this food is somewhat close to the Chinese food that I'm use to in Saint Louis. But I will no longer support this business. At least every other time that I come here one of the women at the counter has an attitude with me. I've visited this store during lunch hour. I've seen how they treat other customers who are not black men. Today while walking to the counter, the counter person greeted me by saying "Yeah. What do you want." After I told her I have a carry out order, she tossed my bag on the counter. I asked the woman if she was having a bad day, what was the attitude for. She pretended to not here my question about her attitude. I'm tired of the attitude that I get from some of the women at the counter at least 50% of the time that I come here. ordered delivery on DoorDash and received our food at our door in 39 minutes, which isn't bad considering we're on the other side of town. everything arrived warm. the Mongolian beef had fresh mushrooms, onion, snow peas and green bell pepper. the general tsao chicken had good flavor and texture. the white rice was cooked perfectly, and there was extra sauce in the Mongolian beef to put on the rice which was so yummy. the crab Rangoons were also very good. the lo mein was fine, nothing special there. overall I was quite happy and I would order it again! read more

Tried this last Thursday with a friend. I'd found their Yelp review and it was better rated than where we were planning to go, so we changed. I had the Sweet & Sour Chicken as a dinner special (fried rice and 2 crab rangoon). The food was hot, fresh and delicious. My only negative is that I like pineapple and vegetables (onion, carrot, green pepper) in my Sweet & Sour and there were none. The rangoon were really good and I was able to get real hot mustard in a container rather than the lame packaged mustard. Portion size was very good for $8 and I took half of mine home to eat later. My companion ordered the General Tso's chicken (also with fried rice and Rangoons) and said it was great, which I believe since he ate every last bite. read more

Wow! I was not expecting how great this place was. I just thought it would be ok. But it was really amazing. I tried the sweet and sour chicken, chicken low main, and crab ragoon. The sauce and the chicken on the sweet and sour chicken was awesome! So good! Well worth stopping by! Not only that but the service was incredible. They came by and asked us how we liked it.
