I really wanted to like this place, but my experience was a masterclass in disorganization,…read moreindifference, and wasted time. I called a week in advance and told them I'd be coming in Monday morning to get sound deadening installed in the front doors and wheel wells of my station wagon. I even told them I already had the materials. They said "come in at 9." Simple enough. I took time off work and drove from midtown Manhattan all the way to their shop near Fordham University. I arrived at 9am -- their posted opening time -- only to watch the staff stroll in around 9:20. Then I had to wait while they dealt with a customer whose Bluetooth they'd installed incorrectly. When I finally spoke to the manager, I showed him the parts, explained the job, got a quote, and headed back to my office -- another $60 cab ride -- trusting they'd do what they said they could do. Ninety minutes later, they called to say they couldn't remove my tires because they were "on too tight." They didn't have the proper power tool to remove them. A mobile audio shop that can't remove wheels for a job they agreed to do. I asked if they could find a tool somewhere. They couldn't. I asked if they could at least do the front doors -- the part that didn't require touching the wheels. They said no, because they "already had other cars" and mine was now sitting in the street. So I took another $60 Uber back to pick up my untouched car. $120 in transportation, half a day of work lost, and absolutely nothing to show for it. They didn't even bother to do the portion of the job they could have done. I'm sure they have a couple of things they do well, but the devil‑may‑care attitude, the lack of basic tools, and the complete disregard for my time means I won't be returning. If you value professionalism, reliability, or even the slightest respect for your schedule, look elsewhere.

I asked the owner (Ney) how much would it cost me to buy and install and backup camera with them, he told me $270!! $70 for the camera and $200 for the job cause you have to loop cables from the trunk to the radio. Mind you the camera he showed me is on amazon for $12. That's not it yet!! He gave a guy that came in asking the same question later on that day the price of $190. The day before I got Installed LED headlights for $180, 2 days later I search up the lights cause I don't trust this degenerate, the lights were $22!!. Last but not least as I was asking for the camera in my first remark, the reason I was there was cause I installed a bass, 2 amps a crossover and a EQ that I brought from home. This guy charged me $280 and his guy charged me $50 on the side for "some cables I needed" then when it's time to turn everything on I saw him purposely glitch one of my amps to jerk me into getting a new one from them, so after going back and forth with him, he told me to get one wherever and he'll install it for free. Those good reviews up their are definitely on his side the guy is con artist stay away from this place, go two streets down!!

I got some very high end quotes($2500) and a few way too low quotes($800). I finally decided to go straight to the Xpel website and see who was an authorized installer in my area(Bronx NY). I saw Lorenzo(owner) name and gave him a call. He answered the phone himself and right away I could tell he was a straight talking very knowledgeable guy. He told me he's very busy but if I had some free time I could come in and look around. To my surprise when I showed up, although he was working .....he overheard me asking one is of his employees about Xpel installation and he came right over from detailing a Bentley and said" I'm Lorenzo the owner......let me show you around". He spent the next hour explaining exactly what he does and asked me what I want done and the timeframes and the $ involved. He's a great listener. I told him my car was 9 days old and I wanted to protect it right away. He told me he treats all cars the same whether they are a Lamborghini or a Honda. He showed me the Xpel he was doing on some other cars and I could see the care and attention to detail all his guys displayed. We worked out a very reasonable $ for the full hood, bumpers(front n rear), headlights/grill,Mirrors n mirror casings and front side around wheels and door handle cups and I brought the car in the next morning!!!!.... Yes he took pity on me I guess bc we both have Brooklyn/Bronx accents and he squeezed me in over the weekend. He called me Sunday night and told me my car was ready and I can pick it up anytime Monday I want. From the time I saw my car I was speechless... He went above and beyond and covered my whole grill and as you can see in the pics....this car has a huge front end and both upper and lower grills are complicated. He explained to me how this is no pre-cut sheets of Xpel ... It was a lot of custom cutting and he had some pieces left over and decided to do my grills. He walked around the whole car with me asking me if I had any questions and advising me about care/maintenance until I had no more questions. He was so patient it was unreal. All I can say is this guy is an old school business man... Been doing these installations since it all started and really takes pride in his work. He's an Artist. He guarantees all his work and told me to bring it back next week after it cures fully and he will go over the whole car with me again to double check it all. Much thanks to Junior, Lorenzo's assistant... He was great to talk to and after a few minutes anyone could tell he's been mentored by Lorenzo and knows his stuff as well. This whole experience started a faso confusing but once I could Lorenzo and his shop it all went super smoothly .... Just like he made my paint!!!! Thanks so much guys!!!!!

First off, these guys are my local mechanics whom I have praised them for their honesty, quality…read moreand customer service, in the past. Recently, my opinion has changed due to my last experience. *Note the owner has been away. I drove in with a perfectly running car to have a battery cut off switch (purchased on Amazon) installed by a professional in the hope of not inadvertently causing electrical problems myself. The mechanic (great guy) installed it and I was charged $118 for what amounted to 1/2 hr of labor. Fine, at least I won't have to worry, I figured. I drove home and the car seemed to be running slightly rougher than previous. Maybe my imagination, I thought. That night as I took off to work the car shut off in my narrow driveway. Too narrow to tow. I ended up removing the component but not before taking the photos I posted and taking a video. An AAA guy who came to give a boost agreed that it would be best to remove it, as the boost would be useless. The car started and the next day I went about my day only for the car not to start while in Manhattan. Previously I called them and was told by the young manager that the issue was due to a faulty component they did not purchase and he wouldn't take responsibility. But I can speak to the owner when he's back in two weeks. When I got stuck in Manhattan I was told by the same person I probably I had a faulty alternator all along, a separate issue altogether, get it back and they would take a look. He was dismissive and somewhat irritated at my calls as I tried to tie things back to the install. I got it towed to the front of garage the next day and gave them the keys so they can check it out as I rented a car to go to work. An hour and a half before closing they still hadn't looked at it as they were "busy" with other customers. I reiterated that despite the hardship of the car suddenly not working after they worked on it I brought it back to them in trust and due to my good past experiences. I felt it was unfair to be placed last on the list. Half an hour before closing I was told the problem (see images) was a 180 amp battery fuse which melted when the cut-off component was attached to it. I had questioned the mechanic as to what it was during the installation and whether it mattered, he continued thinking it would be fine. Again, he was a cool guy. He found what the components was and a replacement part that could be ordered from Amazon. I even tipped him again after the whole experience was over. The manager however repeatedly blamed the part and not the work. I ordered the part (battery fuse) and had it installed the next day. The manager acted like they were doing me a favor by installing the part they had destroyed and I had to pay for out of my own pocket. After missing work, inconveniencing my neighbors, having to get towed, and renting cars, they did me a favor by not charging me to put the fuse back on. I'm sure the young guy thinks he's doing the right thing; perhaps protecting his staff , or making more money for the owner. But this is the short term thinking of a street mechanic, which is precisely why I go to them to avoid. It's understandable to make a mistake but to not to rectify, and in fact try to hustle it the way he did, hoping I would accept such nonsense, hoping people couldn't be bothered is not good business nor what they are commended for in reviews. "Your Family Auto Service". Essentially I went in with a perfectly working car and left with one that would fail, losing the price of installation, the price of the cut-off switch, tows, rentals, and a new battery fuse. But I should be grateful? Lol Only thing I'm grateful for is they admitted it was a fuse and didn't try to get me for the alternator as he suggested. I've photos, vids, receipts and voice recordings to back my claim. This has been an insult to my intelligence and would be taking advantage of anyone lacking.
