My mother had been a patient of Dr. Aaron Kern for a long time and she was really happy with him, so I became a patient of his, too. I really enjoyed Dr. Kern's professionalism and his sense of humor to help put patients at ease. Unfortunately, he retired about a year ago but not before sending out a letter to all his patients advising that all his patients would now be under the care of Dr. Lindsay Larson. I had a chance to meet Dr. Larson for the first time right after Thanksgiving of 2021. She was still fairly new to the practice. I had a very pleasant visit with her and she wanted to see me back in 3 months. My mother also had a chance to see Dr. Larson a couple of times; however, she said that even though Dr. Larson is nice, she felt that Dr. Larson hadn't been in the medical profession long enough and wanted to switch to a more seasoned doctor in the practice. Both of us ended up switching to Dr. Mansoor Shah. Dr. Shah is nice and has a sense of humor, but not quite like Dr. Kern's. I also found out that Dr. Shah is past retirement age (early 70s) but that means he's a seasoned medical professional and he must love what he does. His assistant Yolanda is very nice as well and she is responsive to messages I send through the online patient portal, especially when it comes to getting medication refills. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes when waiting to be seen. This office is also half a mile down the street from where I live, so it's very convenient to get to. However, finding parking can be quite a challenge, since the building shares a 4-story parking garage with another medical building as well as Lakewood Regional Medical Center (the hospital). Face masks are still required when entering the office, just an FYI.

I thought I should see an expert, so I tried to set an appointment and am told I need a referral even though my insurance does not require it. It usually takes over a month to get into my doctor and I would have to get fresh blood work from my doctor because apparently, they do not refer you for blood work before your first appointment. There was also something else I needed to bring for my first appointment but by then I had stopped listening.

He saved my mother's life on more than one occasion and yes, he actually looks at your file before making any judgments. In my case I had been complaining of being tired for years. Until I started seeing Dr. Wong. He read my chart and scheduled me for a sleep study. Turns out I have sleep Apnea. Every other doctor had assumed it was strictly my weight making me tired. I mentioned I had surgery and had been waiting to get some XRays done to be sure I didn't need another crazy surgery- she had the XRays done right on the spot! The office and staff were great- While I never actually pay attention to the receptionists (they aren't the ones I'm there to see) her assistants were marvelous.
