The owner of the shop is changed. The new owner, Raj is such a sweet and patient woman. The whole lookout of the shop seems changed. She has beatiful varieties of the latest women's Indian outfits like gowns, lehengas, salwar khameez suit clothes, bridal outfits, beautiful shawls, bindis, purses and many other things. Prices are very reasonable. I personally felt very pleasurous while looking the stuff in her shop. I bought a lehenga choli online and the measurements were completely off. I received the outfit 3 days before I had to fly out for the wedding i was attending. I took it to Ahlishan Collections and they were able to completely transform the fitting in 2 days. Not only was the customer service amazing, but they also did a ton of work... rush and did not overcharge me. The outfit was flawless! They are very reasonable. Really liked this place. The auntie whom owns it is very nice. Got 4 really great suits. The prices are fixed which is nice so you know you can't be cheated. Clean. Good suits. Absolutely loved my experience with Ahlishan Collections. I needed a mehndi ceremony outfit but struggled to find one that was modern and elegant-many of the surrounding shops had out-of-date clothing. I walked into Ahlishan and told them what I was looking for and they were able to work with me to make a custom outfit. Their pricing was fair (and I was surprised that a custom outfit where I picked out the fabrics and colors etc. was not more expensive). I thoroughly enjoyed my shopping experience at Ahlishan Collections. I am attending an Indian wedding in Rajastan this summer and was very nervous about shopping for clothing since I'm not desi. Ranju was so helpful and was extremely knowledgeable about the wedding events and traditions in different regions and gave appropriate advice. I just had a very positive experience at Ahlishan. The woman who helped me, Rita, was very friendly, helpful, and not at all pushy. She took her time showing us a variety of pieces. I ended up buying a beautiful bridal lehenga for one of my upcoming wedding events, and am excited. They are willing to negotiate, so be sure not to take the sticker price at face value. The team at Ahlishan SAVED MY DAY!! I am a white (super white) girl who recently married into a Punjabi Sikh family - the day before my wedding I discovered that the wedding shoes my MIL brought for me from India were 2.5 sizes too big. I went out that day to find replacements and Ahlishan had a TON of different styles to choose from, several of which worked well with my wedding outfit. I also found some appropriate shoes for my mom and a replacement blouse for my Massi whose outfit hadn't arrived in time. I wanted a custom outfit and decided if I was going to give money to anyone, I would rather it be someone that I know. Luckily, an old high school friend owned a fabric store - this one! This place has GREAT fabrics that the co-owner (my old high school friend) hand picks from India every so often. The downside - I came in at the beginning of October 2012 and was assured that my outfit could be made by the end of October especially since it was just an Indian style top and pants. After several visits and unanswered calls/txts, I walk away with my FABRIC at the end January 2013...and not the outfit I was promised. So, yes, this is a GREAT fabric store with pretty reasonable prices. However they made a promise that they didn't deliver on even though I was patient enough to continue to wait months after the promised date. Note: the elderly woman who watches the shop while the owners are out doesn't really speak English, so if that's the only language you speak, be prepared to have to come back later. read more

I absolutely love this place, from the fabrics, to the service, to the accessories. It's all perfect. I got married in October 2019, and the wonderful women and uncleji with the sewing machine in this shop saved my wedding and my sanity. I have been meaning to write this review for a long time to express my deep gratitude. I'm kind of a no-fuss Punjabi woman when it comes to buying Indian clothes for functions, including even for my own wedding. I wanted clothes I could move in, that were stylish, "non-traditional" (i.e., not heavy and bedazzled for the sake of being bedazzled because I'm the bride and therefore need to be weighed down by jewels). The ladies at Ahlishan are my people for life, I felt like they understood me. With their beautiful design eye, they were able to put together two lengha skirts for my sister and I that were basically just cute fabric we chose and which they got made in India in include tulle to give them shape and a beautiful trim that we chose in the store. The golden yellow lengha pictured is what I wore to my reception. Again, no one was pushing me to wear red with heavy jewels, I felt understood, and it felt so beautiful and comfortable so I could dance in it all night long. I also got the choker, tikka and earrings set pictured with the orange outfit from this shop. Their prices were reasonable and fair, and we received all of the pieces with more than enough time for alterations. My sister had some alterations to her blouse, and they were completed perfectly. I absolutely love this store, and I love the people who work here. I hope you all are staying safe and doing okay during the pandemic, and I look forward to shopping here again soon. read more

One of my good friend (who just happens to be Indian) invited my husband and I to her wedding, so one of my girlfriends and I decided to seize the opportunity to soak in the experience and buy traditional attire. Tips for Sari shopping for non-Indian consumers. 1. Their are many different shapes to the main attire but the 2 main styles to consider are A. Sarees:consists of several yards of light material that is draped around the body. Usually worn over a short top cut at mid drift. (layman terms: short halter and under skirt, main focus is the fabric wrapped and draped around your waist and body) B. Lahengas: A traditional dress worn below waistline and extends to the toe, upper part of the body is covered with a choli or Kameez. (layman terms: heavily adorned top worn with skirt or pants) 2. Just like any type of garment, the more embellishments the higher the cost. The heavier the fabric the increase in price. 3. Expect to pay anywhere from $100 to $600. 4. Accessorize with bangles, earrings and other jewelry. 5. Your shoes will more than likely not be of emphasis because they will be hidden under your long garment. 6. Safety pins are a must Alright.... enough with the tips. Ablishan was a wonderful breath of fresh air in such an overwhelming shopping strip. As soon as we entered a very helpful, young lady named Pinky was at our assistance, really educating us about shopping for a proper outfit. Steering away from the whole Sari idea due to the fear of flashing gut, she reassured us that we could wear a halter and Sari without being so revealing. She pulled out half a dozen saris and wrapped them around us to help us with the full effect, then sold us on such a wonderful price for a custom made outfit. After choosing our wraps, an elderly Auntie came to measure our torsos ensuring the perfect fit. Halters and skirts were ready in 2 weeks and before we left Pinky made sure to give us a short class on Sari wrapping 101. Outfits were very comfortable through out the entire wedding day, and we were given many compliments on both our sari designs and our ability to wrap them. Rude, rude and RUDE. Had an experience in the past and kind of forgot about it. I went in the shop and touched something and got shouted at for touching it. At that time, pre Yelp, I decided never to spend $.01 here. The people here treat you based on what they see. Meaning, if they think you have money, they will cater to you but if you are just browsing, they could care less. At the time of my negative experience I was going to file a complaint with the bbb however, I decided to spend my money elsewhere and leave them alone. Years passed and I had an aunt of mine tell me she had a similar experience. Very rude service, condescending and made her feel very unwelcome. What they didn't know is that she is a doctor and was ready to spend some major money that day. Their loss and I would never, ever recommend this place to anyone. read more

By Far, this is my favorite store. The ladies in there are the nicest and the most helpful! Pretty much all of my indian suits come from there! The person who sews my dresses is very much impressed with the clothing I get from there. Ranju and Pinky are by far the best ladies to interact with and also the Aunti, who does stitching as well. Thoughtful and helpful service to help in selecting beautiful fabrics. I contemplated a bolt of lucious gold silk, but at $15 / yard (very reasonable for that quality of fabric) I opted for a deep-rose gold poly at $4 / yard. (I need more time and a tailored, lined pants pattern to do the gold silk justice.) As a typical Caucasian, many of the colors available were not flattering to my skin tone, but there was plenty in my palate. Parking was easy - I got a meter right out front, and as a bonus the meters are free over the holidays. read more

This is a very beautiful shop with a huge selection of all different styles of South Asian garments. The shop ladies were exceptionally helpful and ready to answer all my questions. I really enjoyed looking at all the fabrics for custom made salwar suits, but I don't know what the costs are like for tailoring here. The prices are higher than other shops. They seem to have sales often and they seem to be open to bargaining. I will most likely be back to take advantage of the Diwali sale. read more

I needed a sari and had never bought one before. 3 of us walked into this place, thinking we would also be visiting the other sari shops nearby. However they were so helpful to us here we didn't need to go anywhere else. the owners were incredibly helpful, the prices and selection were great we received many compliments on our saris. we didn't have much time, but there were able to get all 6 outfits done with time to spare. I've only shopped here for fabric, blouse material, cloth for stitching my own tops, etc. They have a great selection and the owner is very nice and helpful. I recently went to Sari Palace and Roopam's for the first time, in search of silk material for the blouse to go with my wedding sari. Roopam's didn't have anything. Sari Palace had silk material, and some nice selections, but they were charging $75-$100/yard! I finally made it to Ahlishan (I knew I should have checked there first) and I found some peacock blue khadi silk (raw silk) fabric, for only $20 per yard! I also found a beautiful matching border. They even have a tailor at the shop for making blouses, tops etc. I can only speak for the fabrics at Ahlishan, but they have the best selection around. read more

Customer service is really lacking here. My cousin's wedding was a month away and the dress I was planning on wearing wasn't going to work so I came to Ahlishan to see if I could find something. One of their sales reps told me they do custom work and I showed her what I wanted and said it could be done. We agreed on a price and she told me she just needs to speak with her designer in India and she'll let me know when I can come in for measurements. Two days had passed and I had not heard anything from her. I texted her to see if she spoke to her designer in India and she said she'll talk to him tomorrow. I texted her a couple of days later to follow up and no response. I called and texted multiple times after that, but she did not get back to me. I'm not sure why she just didn't say her designer couldn't do it so I could look into other options. She was well aware that I was really hoping this would work out. Luckily I found another store that actually knows a thing or two about customer service and was able to get my outfit made there. read more
