It was intimidating to see the least but I pushed thru...I got 2 different proteins on brown rice. One was a spicy shrimp and other was avocado tuna mix. My husbands raves about this place because of their sriracha shrimp bowl. We checked Yelp for store hours and saw it said 9pm so we headed over and got there at 7:45pm...only to be told they close at 8pm. All the chairs were up on the tables as to stop people from eating inside. They also were out of quite a few ingredients and were no longer making the sriracha shrimp bowl because they were already cleaning the stove tops. I understand wanting to go home after a long shift but if they were going to stop cooking and let their ingredients get so low might as well just close at 7:30pm. Since we couldn't get the bowl we wanted we decided to get a 3 protein poke bowl. Firstly the scoops are SMALL, smaller than most other poke spots I've been to. You'd think with them closing soon they'd give bigger portions to use up the fish of the day. Their sauces are ok at best. It was weird to see they don't have a ponzu option. The fish was fresh at least, we ordered spicy salmon, tuna and albacore. We also wanted to try a hand roll, they were no longer offering spicy tuna so we got crab and it was yummy. If you're craving poke and this is closest to you it's ok. But I think I rather go to my usual spot. read more

The poki was delicious, the fish was fresh. The service was just ok as the girl helping us was in a rush to get back to cleaning. It's irritating to me when you go into any establishment, and they act upset because cleaning is more important than helping you and you're undecided. I mean, the place was already spotless. The portions were small, I got a 3 scoop bowl and they give you the bare minimum of everything, my bowl was so small it didn't even fill me up, my friend had to give me what they had left of their huge sub they got from jersey Mike's so I could get full. They do my poki no no, they charge extra for yellowtail and avocado. It's an OK place. This place is located next to a LA Fitness & a few other fast food restaurant chains. I'm usually craving for poke during a hot day. I wanted to try out this new place after my work out. 1st visit: 2 scoops with brown rice. The rice was hot. Hot rice usually heats up the raw fish and makes it tastes warm. Ideally the rice should be slightly warm but not hot. 2nd visit: half spring salad and half brown rice. Again the rice was hot. By the time I got home, the fish was warm. The raw fish doesn't taste good with hot rice. During both visits, I noticed the server was being a bit stingy with the toppings. Suggestion: it's best to serve the white/brown rice just slightly warm not hot. read more

Tried Ahipoki for the first time this past week. The place is in a pretty large plaza (office and retail, next to a large sports gym), so parking is not a issue. I ordered a 3 scoop bowl and was rather pleased. The raw poki was good, and they had a ton of different ways to customize it from kimchi to cucumbers to even edamame (as well as many sauces). If you are looking for some Poke, Ahipoki is a decent place to get some. Can't say the prices here are cheap (or the servings large), but you get what you pay for here with decent quality and variety. read more

My new go to pokey place! I love that they have kelp noodles, and you can order online with toast and get rewards. Glad one is closer to where I live and I don't have to drive to Northridge for the other location. I'm very happy with my online orders here thus far. they even ran out of a scallops and added an extra scoop of salmon in place- very happy that they did that. This is one of the better tasting poke places I've been to. First, the the fish looked and tasted fresh. That's the most important in a poke place. I had the tuna, spicy tuna, and kimchi shrimp. I played it safe since it's my first time here. Second, the sauces were very flavorful but not overwhelming as to distract from the fish. I had the house spicy, garlic, and wasabi. As for toppings, I added jalapeños, edemame, cucumber, mangoes, crispy garlic, and sesame seed. Here's the point deduction: I had white rice for my base. It's the cheapest thing on the menu. Hook it up!!! They're so stingy with the rice I had to add my own when I got home...and it still didn't fill me up. The food is tasty but the reason I won't eat here regularly is because it's very small portion and I didn't get full from it. I can add this to my list of places to eat for when I'm not really hungry but I have to eat situations. On another note, that's not specific to this restaurant, but needs mentioning, is that they don't accept hundred dollar bills. We now live in a world where lunch for two people is $40 and they can't make change for $100? $100 is the new $20!!! read more

Just came here on opening day and wow, so good!! This is a build your own poke bowl place (with some other options as well) with lots of selections! The fish was super fresh and flavorful and loved the variation of add-ins. The entire place was super clean, everyone was friendly, and they even offered a free drink with the bowl. I got the lychee lemonade which was also really delicious! This was the perfect addition to this center and will definitely be back! read more

I love this place and usually order through Uber eats but today my food tasted horrible. The tuna tasted as if it was drowned in soy sauce even tho I did not ask for soy sauce. The blazing salmon was more orange than usual, and tasted unsavory. Hoping they didn't change their recipe. I didn't get my extra scoops, and didn't get the creamy sauce I requested. Hoping this is a one time mistake because I love this expensive food but not if it's not made the way I ordered it. Been on the hunt for a good poke spot and this was one on my list of places to try. Compared to the other places I've visited this was the best so far (I still got a few other spots to try) 1. I thought the price point was super fair for a regular and a large. And if you want an additional scoop it's $2 which still make their reg and large competitive to what most poke spots already charged. 2. Love that instead of poke you can have Hawaiian chicken/salmon but still get the poke toppings, which I haven't seen in any other place 3. I've always seen spam musubi even Hawaii's bbq musubi but I've never seen unagi musubi. Also most places require you to buy two but here they give you the choice of one or two. 4. I love the different flavors of poke fish, for instance the tuna luau is tuna and avo in this garlic sauce. They have other different variety of flavors for different items which I thought was quite innovative. 5. I believe the guy who handled my bowl is probably the owner and he gave me masago when I requested it even tho it was not a topping on the menu which I really appreciated! All in all my poke bowl was super filling and there was a mad line out the door for this spot. So many people were lining out the door for this place which says something! That the food is good! Eh. Was very excited to have a poke spot so close to home. Finally got a chance to try it out and can definitely say I won't be back. This place was not impressive. The variety of fish is decent but when I was there it was nearly empty and it wasn't covered and left out in the open. A melon baller is the size of their scoop and it's very small, probably no more than 10 pieces of fish. The topping selection is very limited and for $12 to $14 I'd go elsewhere. This was my first time here. I ordered online and when I arrived a woman pointed towards my bag. When I got home, I was missing the rice and the miso soup I had paid for. I tried calling to at least get a refund for the soup, but nobody answered. I am assuming that my order consisted of two bags and she only gave me one. Be that as it may, why put the rice in a separate container? Instead of the rice absorbing all the yummy sauces, it would have been just dry rice. Good Flavor and all, but to be honest, the portions is bad for the price. I got two scoops, and I think I only got maybe 6-8 pieces of fish? Even the toppings felt like they were being a little shy with it. They use tongs to give them which is the reason why there's barely any.
