Fit and Light blueberry yogurt with granola and honey

Ambiance is good. Buffet looks presentable. The best things I had was the eggs, sausage, fruit, and my own custom parfait with the granola, a cup of the fit and light blueberry yogurt, and honey. My food was fine. It was good even. Service was a little slow but we went in when they had just opened. The main issue that knocks them down two stars, is that it seems they don't keep up with the expiration of their food. My boyfriend was lucky to spot mold in a pastry before he ate it. And when I went to pick out a yogurt, the first one I grabbed was expired over a week. I luckily found the blueberry one that had 5 days left. All in all it tastes good but be weary that they may not be attentive to the food age.

We were skeptical about eating here after a recent experience at another hotel restaurant it were pleasantly surprised. The checkin was cooked perfectly and beefy flavorful and there was a ton of asparagus, but the polenta was not creamy as the menu suggests. The pasta was plain on its own but the tomatoes and olives gave it flavor. They don't have a kids menu (or at least didn't give us one) but kindly made a grilled cheese with a side soup. The grilled cheese was super cheesy. Drinks were great - the bar onsite knows what they're doing! Service was quick and attentive, although we were the only people in the restaurant.

After spending the day at California Adventure, we headed back to the double tree hotel to enjoy dinner at the Agio. We went early in the evening when they first opened and were seated right away. My girlfriend and I decided to split the caprese salad as an appetizer, which came with 6 total pieces of tomato, mozzarella, and basil, with a balsamic glaze drizzled on top. It was very fresh, tasty, and a nice way to start the meal. My grandma wasn't hungry, so she ordered the petite salad as her main, and said it was really fresh and tasty as well! For the other mains, we got the Tuscany chicken, the spaghetti bolognese, and the fettuccine Alfredo. The tuscany chicken was okay, a little flavorless, and you can taste a lot of butter that it was probably cooked in. The fettuccine Alfredo was okay as well, nothing really to right home about. Out of the 3 mains, I think the spaghetti bolognese was the best, as it was a nice meat sauced served over spaghetti. Simple and done right. I'm willing to try this place again in the future when I'm back in the area!

Stopped in for dinner and the dining room was empty. The restaurant was a bit on the dark side and the decor seemed a bit dated. For dinner my gf had the Romano flatbread which had sausage, pepperoni, capicola, marinara and mozzarella. She absolutely loved it. It was very tasty and flavorful. I had the NY steak (10oz) with mashed potatoes, garlic spinach with tomato sauce. The steak and veggies were full of flavors. Unfortunately the piece of steak was not a good cut of meat. It was chewy and tough.

Eggs Benedict - $14 & Orange Juice - $5

Came by for breakfast the other day while staying at DoubleTree Suites Anaheim Convention Center. Restaurant is located on the main level of the 4 diamond resort. Hilton Honors Gold and above members can get a voucher that can be used towards the buffet or the All American Breakfast cooked-to-order breakfast. Started out with the Orange Juice which was surprisingly decent, and appropriately priced for tourists at $5. Moved on to the Eggs Benedict which was decent. The hash browns were fresh and tasty. The eggs were well poached and the hollondaise sauce was decent. Service was okay by the waitstaff and the wait for food was on the longer side... Ambiance of the restaurant was towards upscale and the interior was recently remodeled. ~$25/head after tax and gratuity for dinner.

The Agio Ristorante is housed in the lobby level of the Doubletree Guest Suites in Anaheim. Having to crunch some numbers on my laptop for a work-related report I was too lazy to journey out into the hot, humid tourist areas so I stayed inside my hotel for lunch instead. Although the restaurant was fairly inactive during the lull between breakfast time and lunch time the large staff seemed to be in a zombie-like mode walking around doing very little of anything while I stood near the restaurant entrance waiting to be acknowledged and to get a table. Somebody finally noticed, and I was led to a table where I was seated next to a large window. The rays of the sun were shining brightly and the trajectory through the glass hit my laptop screen square on. So much for trying to get a little work done during my lunch. Since my mind was preoccupied by my work I didn't notice the restaurant's interior. That's rare for a detail-oriented person such as myself. When I reached down to put my laptop back into my bag I did notice how dirty the finely packed carpet was. I shook my head in disbelief as to how a pricey hotel restaurant could just leave food particles sprinkled throughout the floor. While she moved in a snail-like manner my waitress was very nice in demeanor. She brought me ice water and a glass of soft drink as I had requested. I kept my order simple by going with a soup and salad selection. A basket of hot, toasted French bread arrived on my table accompanied by two rectangles of soft creamery butter accented by a single leaf of basil (http://static.px.yelp.com/bphoto/yc-C4YJFOC-_gowyutJhVA/l). The bread was very good being hot and crunchy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. What kills a soup quicker than any ingredient? If you're thinking salt you're right on! The Chicken Minestrone (http://static.px.yelp.com/bphoto/5HmlKQnd1qPWCgfLNLJoIA/l) showed good promise with quality ingredients such as chunky zucchini, carrots, kidney beans and spinach leaves. The hearty tomato-based soup was cluttered with ripped away chunks of chicken breast meat and even topped off with a spoonful of pesto, but when the salt settled in not even my water nor my soft drink could wash away that salt taste that had caked onto my tongue. My Chinese Chicken Salad (http://static.px.yelp.com/bphoto/51DUqnvwX7Qm9bdlCd7o5w/l) was presented beautifully with a massive portion of garden fresh vegetables topped off with a tangy peanut sauce and a wig of crispy deep-fried rice noodles. The fresh lettuce, red cabbage, carrots, green and yellow bell peppers, snow peas and mandarin orange segments mixed well with the tangy dressing and the crunchy noodles but the cashew nuts sprinkled on top were a tad stale and the chicken meat was bland and tasteless. Whoever over-salted the broth should have left some of the salt for the chicken. The only plus during this visit was probably the fact that my waitress refilled my soft drink three and a half times. If I'm ever at this hotel again I've learned my lesson. Next time I leave the hotel for lunch! 2.5 stars!

Greek Yogurt Parfait
Gregory C.

Located inside The Doubletree Suites, we only stopped in here for breakfast before heading to the airport on our last day in Anaheim. We didn't do the all you can eat breakfast buffet. Instead I had a Greek Yogurt Parfait and my other half had an egg and avocado wrap. Both were quite good.

The server was nice. But $30 for this mini dry Salmon to go was sad. This not leftover folks; it's the full dish in a box. At least the salmon had a nice crisp, but dryyyyyy.

What other better place to celebrate our friend reunion at a place called "Reunion"? ;)…read more We were looking for a good brunch place to try out and found this place near Corona. Parking: I had no problem finding parking spot as the lot is huge and shared with many other businesses. Interior: We were seated right away without any wait time as we arrived when they just opened. We were seated in a dark area of the restaurant (think bar vibe) so I was a little not sure at first. Most brunch places I went to were always filled with sunlight and bright colorful interiors. This place embraced a classic, quiet feel, something like a Steak House would have. Service: Our server's name was Susan I believe, who was nice and attentive through the whole meal, despite the crowd slowly built up and filled the restaurant. She never failed to check back on us, not just once but twice and refilled our water. She probably isn't as familiar with the brunch menu favorites but seem to know more about the Main menu. The General Manager came out and greeted us because most of their customers are regulars and it's uncommon to have first timers like us visiting. This nice hospitality made us feel very warmly welcomed and impressed. Food: I couldn't decide whether to go with the Slow braised beef on the brunch menu (braised beef benedict) or the main menu but ended up going with the Main menu to get a good portion size. It was a perfect choice because the beef is just amazing. It was cooked to a soft perfection, well seasoned, the roasted vegetable was also cooked just right and not super raw/ crunchy like other places. Then the star of the show arrived - the butter cake. As Susan suggested, this is their most popular dessert and I can see why. The butter cake comes piping hot with the ice cream on top. There's a nice sugar crunchy feel near the bottom of the cake. It's so delicious that I want to come back just to eat this cake. We had a great time overall and would love to come back.

It has this dark but classy aesthetic and I was not prepared for that (in a good way). This restaurant has been here for about 2 years with different ownership and menu so I was excited to see what they had to offer. Hugo helped us with our order and he was very friendly and professional. We went ahead and ordered the ahi tuna taco, pork belly bao, garlic fries, the margharita pizza, the yuzu lobster pasta, and for drinks I got the virgin burning thyme. My friend got that and other drinks as well. Ahi tuna taco - 5/5 probably the best food item for the evening. The tuna was fresh, perfect amount of kick in its sauce, and the outter shell was perfectly crunchy. I think them replacing the shell with wonton was exceptional with the texture. Every bite was extremely satisfying. Pork Belly bao - 4/5 everything was delicious. The bow itself is bouncy and moist. There wasn't anything special about the sauce inside with the pork belly, but I would definitely give it a try at least once. A great portion with your friends or family as an appetizer. Garlic fries - 3/5 It was a bit underwhelming, but nothing horrible. I could not taste the garlic at all, but the fries itself was cooked to perfection with the outer being pretty crispy and inside being soft. Margharita pizza - 4/5 I really like the crust and the breading of this pizza. It was crispy and the pepperoni was cooked to perfection. I really like the small pepperoni because it gives an immense amount of flavor in each bite. The cheese and the tomato sauce was fine, but nothing special. Yuzu lobster pasta - 4/5 I wish I was able to taste more of the Yuzu since that's in the name of the dish, but I could not. If it was just called the lobster pasta I would say it's amazing. The tomatoes were perfect to lighten the entire dish with the heavy sauce and the pasta. The lobster was cooked fine. Other than that it was fine, but I would say either enhance the Yuzu flavor or remove it in the name of the dish. Burning thyme - 4.5/5 I really like the acid and the balance of sweetness and sour in this drink. Usually, I get skeptical when I make an alcoholic drink version because the bartender tends to over sweeten the drink, but this was not the case, and I enjoyed it a lot with our food.

This visit, the food fell a little short of the usual standard. The fries weren't very crispy, although the sides were still delicious. My Delmonico, which is normally super juicy and tender, came out closer to medium instead of medium rare and was also a touch cold. That said, The Ranch is still one of my favorite spots in OC. If the kitchen can consistently match the high standards and execution that the servers provide, this place will easily stay at the top as one of the best steakhouse experiences in Orange County.

We attended a special Chartreuse tasting event at Strong Water which was being held in honor of…read moreChartreuse week and Chartreuse Day 1605 (May 16), the annual celebration of Chartreuse's origins and history. The tasting featured a great lineup of green and yellow Chartreuse paired with small bites. It concluded with a complementary Chartreuse-based cocktail from one of five recipes. Brand ambassador Taylor guided the event and began by telling us about the unique history of Chartreuse. The tasting started out with a small spoonful of Vegetal Elixir Chartreuse to warm up the palate. This is the base spirit of both green and yellow Chartreuse and clocks in at 138 proof. It was surprisingly not harsh, but immediately kicked my salivary glands into overdrive. I didn't even know that vintages of Chartreuse was a thing, but Taylor walked us through tasting three different vintages of both yellow and green Chartreuse, and it was surprising how different they were. The lineup concluded with more rare varietals of the green elixir 1605 and yellow cuvee. Great job, thanks Taylor! Chef Kling presented each small bite which included a crispy Icelandic cod, a roasted beet crostino, and a lamb slider. All of them had a five star list of ingredients and were delicious. Strong Water is known for their excellent cocktails, but their food is also great. For my cocktail at the end of the event, I had the Bar Flower (Green Chartreuse, Crème de Cacao, Pineapple, Lime). This was so good, with the herbal and chocolate flavors perfectly balanced. It was served with a flaming lime half. This was such a great event! Chartreuse retails for around $100 a bottle, and the higher-end varieties cost even more. At just $45 per person, this event was an amazing bargain. Strong Water frequently hosts great events, so keep an eye on their social media for upcoming dates. I really love Chartreuse, so I went back a few days later on the last day of Chartreuse week to try a few of the other limited time cocktails. I started out with their twist on a Grasshopper (Chartreuse, Crème de Menthe, Chili Liqueur, Crème de Cacao, Cream, Cane, $22). This was a great classic Grasshopper, but the Chartreuse added a herbal complexity, and there is a dash of heat on the finish from the chili liqueur. Next I had the Flare Gun (Yellow Chartreuse, Overproof Rum, Italian Bitter, Lime, Cane, $20). The yellow Chartreuse definitely comes through, but it's softer and has a light sweetness, unlike the green variety. Even though it contains overproof rum, it is perfectly balanced and not boozy at all. I usually don't like bitter drinks, but the bitterness was at a perfect light level. I finished off with the Tales from the Black Lagoon which is my favorite drink here, and it's also a favorite of many of the bartenders. All three cocktails were a home run. Chartreuse is an expensive spirit, so those drinks cost a little more than average. Shout out to Karen, Joey, Edgar, Jordan, and Ying for excellent hospitality, as always. Strong Water is our favorite place. We can't wait to go back!
