We looked at a number of contractors to replace our old Trex deck and build a new one. Based upon referrals, reviews, and the fact that they are listed as a 'Trex Pro Platinum builder' with 5 stars on the Trex home website, we chose Deck Express and the entire experience was a pleasure. Craftsmanship and service were stellar. Diogo was clear and transparent in all communication from the initial contact through the end of the job, no surprises. He was also accommodating on a couple of last-minute requests we made of him. The crew was professional, efficient, respectful, and on time each day. The team worked non stop, cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day, and completed the deck within a week as promised. We live in Montclair, which has many older homes, and we have used many contractors. In the 25 years we've been in our home, this was possibly the best contractor experience we've had for any job. Thank you Deck Express!

They guaranteed for us right off the bat, that everything would be completed in one day, with 8 crew, from start to finish. My house seems to have been under construction with other renovations for months now, so hearing everything could be done in a day, has me pretty sold. However, when we got our consultation, Nick shared with us how the layout would be not only ergonomically friendly, but safe for our ever curious and crawling 11 month old. We were concerned specifically with a grated drain that is directly under our deck that infamously would get clogged with leaves and cause major rainwater back-up, and Nick created a seamless design that we could get to the drain to clean it occasionally without crawling under the deck anymore! What a relief! The overall installation is clean and meticulously done. Our backyard really has become an oasis in the light of COVID, and we're now making every excuse to have friends and family over to show it off! Thank you so much!

He came recommended, and I second that emotion.

We knew we wanted Trex. At first we had George work out a 50/50 project to quote. My wife and I liked George right off of the bat. Great guy and knows his stuff. His price was right in line with the others. His knowledge and pictures of previous work, sold us. Once the deck was underway, George made some suggestions. Yes, it was more money and yes, I started to get overwhelmed with cost. That was one me, not George. His price was more than fair. So, at one point, we decided to go "all in" with Trex and lights and nice railings..... George's team was awesome. They were efficient and clean. There was never garbage strewn around our yard. The entire project took a week and the end result was WAY beyond what we originally hoped for. An added bonus was the way George built the support for the decking. Our town inspector put it best.... "The support for this deck is beyond code." When we started planning, there weren't a lot of reviews for Deck Experts which worried me. I wanted to make sure to publish a review for anyone with doubts. I would recommend George and his crew to anyone looking for a deck build or redo. You will have zero regrets and as a salesman, George is informative not pushy. Trust his design and his finished work. You'll be more than pleased with the end result.
