We knew we wanted Trex. At first we had George work out a 50/50 project to quote. My wife and I liked George right off of the bat. Great guy and knows his stuff. His price was right in line with the others. His knowledge and pictures of previous work, sold us. Once the deck was underway, George made some suggestions. Yes, it was more money and yes, I started to get overwhelmed with cost. That was one me, not George. His price was more than fair. So, at one point, we decided to go "all in" with Trex and lights and nice railings..... George's team was awesome. They were efficient and clean. There was never garbage strewn around our yard. The entire project took a week and the end result was WAY beyond what we originally hoped for. An added bonus was the way George built the support for the decking. Our town inspector put it best.... "The support for this deck is beyond code." When we started planning, there weren't a lot of reviews for Deck Experts which worried me. I wanted to make sure to publish a review for anyone with doubts. I would recommend George and his crew to anyone looking for a deck build or redo. I was overwhelmed and hesitant about finding another roofer to fix our roof. There had been a leak…read morethat was slowly getting worse, a leak that was not fixed properly by the last roofing company a few years ago. Who could I trust?? Did we really need a new roof ?? Can anyone fix this leak?? I had several estimates, had 4 different companies come and tell me what would fix that leak. The range of remedies was vast and varied in costs. CHARLIE with ON THE SPOT was the first to come take a look. Right away I was impressed with his knowledge, he was very kind, respectful and professional. He came when he said he would, took pictures, & explained everything so that I could understand. He found the problem that the other guys didn't even mention & it made perfect sense. It felt like my project was managed like a game of hot potato, with no one person taking responsibility from beginning to end, but instead, by lots of people who seemingly never collaborated and also managed lots of other projects as well as evolving roles within the company. The subcontractors that they used to do my project varied wildly in terms of the quality of their work and experience. Working with On the Spot is not an experience I'll ever reflect upon with any fondness. Everyone has that friend/neighbor/realtor's nephew who had an awful experience with a contractor. Well in this case, I am that friend/neighbor/realtor's nephew and On the Spot is that contractor. Look elsewhere.
