We were having a great day shopping around and chatting when one employee came up to our group and made a sarcastic comment. My friends brushed him off and I didn't hear so he made sure to come up behind me and an inch away from my face loudly repeat it. I felt extremely unsafe with how he entered my personal space when I was distracted and my guard was down- I will never return to this store and urge other women to do the same.

On…read moreChristmas Eve, the owner denied me and my service animal entry, citing "too many bags and an aggressive dog." I had two shopping bags and my service animal, who has never exhibited any aggression. I understand that the store may have limited space. Had the owner respectfully asked me to leave my bags behind the counter or wait to enter due to crowding, I would have been happy to comply. Especially since I noticed another dog in the store. Instead, he dismissed me in a confrontational manner without offering any reasonable alternatives. Before leaving, I informed the employee that my dog is a service animal and that it is illegal to deny entry to customers with service animals. In response, he became defensive and raised his voice. As I exited the store, I overheard him telling other customers--who had witnessed the incident--that my dog was aggressive. This claim is completely false. My service animal has accompanied me for nearly a decade and has never once displayed aggression. It appears the owner discriminated against my service animal based on his perceived breed, as he is a pit mix. Such behavior is both unacceptable and unlawful, and I intend to hold this store accountable for this disgusting incident.

One of the first recommendations that was given to me was Often Wander. It is a tiny store, but the selection is amazing. There are so many candles to choose from, and so many delicious scents! They also have a wide variety of crystals, rocks, and quality hand-crafted jewelry. The store may be small, but you could still get lost! The workers are also very friendly and seek to help wherever they can. My one suggestion is that there be a bit more transparency about the "50% off candle refill" offer. There are more fees and stipulations than advertised, and I don't think that is entirely fair. But other than that, the store is lovely, and I will certainly be a regular!

While there purchasing the dress, my girlfriend asked about the return policy and the clerk only mentioned that it was a 30-day return window. When I went to return it, I then found out that it was only store credit (no cash refund), which is totally fair, but I would have preferred knowing that at time of purchase. The clerk then went on to repeat that "those words would literally never leave my mouth" "we've never offered cash" etc etc. (we never accused her of saying that we would get a cash refund, just that she didn't mention it). She then told me that the store was actually closing in less than a month and they weren't getting any new inventory. So now I have about $300 to spend at a store that isn't getting any new inventory in less than a month. Pretty ridiculous to be honest. Can't imagine why the store is closing! But honestly, good riddance.

I totally understand the return policy and the fact that they don't want you taking photos so you can find it cheaper elsewhere. Are the things more expensive than Amazon? Of course! There is no signage in the store or on the receipt regarding this policy. We were told we would have to speak with the owner the next day. When we went back the following day, the woman who claimed to be the owner pointed to an outdated, handwritten "HOLIDAY POLICY 2024". I told her that shouldn't apply to this purchase and it's disgraceful to be charging 4X the price and not be willing to refund. I was told that's the price you pay for being able to "touch the items" vs online purchases and she refused to budge on the store credit. DO NOT SHOP HERE! Attached is a photo which discredit's the shop's response and shows both the $76 charge and "outdated holiday return policy".

Unfortunately, I will never go back after an interaction that I had with the woman who works there today. She has never been particularly polite (she's snapped at both me and my husband), but we were willing to overlook that to support a local business. That changed today. I approached the store with my newborn in her stroller. The woman had her large, nine month old puppy tied to the front door of the store. Since the dog could easily jump on my stroller (it was quite large), I asked if it was baby friendly. I said, "I have a newborn in here, is your dog safe with babies?" And she snapped rudely, "I don't know. That's your responsibility." Mind you, we were literally on our first walk out of the house and had prioritized going to perch to get a little gift for our baby girl. This interaction was so totally unnecessary. Not only should a giant puppy not be tied to the front door, but to snap at parents trying to keep their kid safe is totally inappropriate. Move your dog! Be kind! Ugh I am so done. I will never be back. PS, I should clarify that I love dogs and I am a large dog owner myself. It is our responsibility as dog owners to 1) know how our dogs behave with kids and other dogs and 2) depending on that behavior, take precautions. This woman chose to do neither and was rude to us when we asked her to.
