We had ALL YEAR come to our home twice before to check out the system. We had water coming out the…read moresecondary drain line and wanted it checked out. The first time was late in 2022 and in early 2023 we had them come back out to check the drain situation. The water was still coming out the secondary drain after the second visit. On June 30 2023 was the third visit the employees name was Sean and after being in the attic for about 3 hours he came down and grabbed his PVC kit and proceeded to capped off the secondary back up drain. When he came down from the attic he said our system was an abortion and he needed to pick up and install a float valve in our secondary overflow drain. He called later that afternoon telling us he could come back on Saturday to install this part. This was going to cost $750.00. At this point we did not call him back due to the tone in his voice and the fact that the system was running. We also received advice from our neighbor that new the company and retired doing HVAC. At this point we had no idea that he capped the secondary drain. The capping of the secondary drain overflowed over the weekend, it overflowed in are attic causing extensive damaged and mold in the ceiling. I believe this was done in an attempt to get us to purchase a new system. After going back and forth with this company no resolution was reached. We spoke with Greg the owner on several occasions and his solution was to sent out 2 guys and have them lift one side of our system to place it more on an angle. This for the low price of $1,400.00 this was would solve the secondary drain issue. In the end I called a different HVAC company and had a new system installed and the mold and dry wall repaired. $9,440.00 for a new HVAC unit, also the repair cost in damages to our attic, hallway & mold damage.

I was hoping to just get it serviced, but because of the age and the freon it used, I was informed that they no longer carry that freon due to it was no longer produced and that I might find a company that has it. Found one that was able to give me 2 more years and very much appreciated the honesty the A COOL AIR gave. November 2025 it was time to change it out. Made the appointment, received the estimate after inspection, was informed of the rebates both for SMUD as well as Federal Tax Credits and gave the go ahead. They had it installed in 2 days' time, and let me tell you, this new system? Makes me come to terms that I never really had a real one to begin with!!! I was given options to which one would work best for my unit (I live in a condo) and wasn't swayed one way or the other. Chose one, and I am SO THANKFUL I did! These few days in the 90's so far have given comfortable and cool air throughout my home and including my bedroom which never cooled off or heated up to the rest of the house. I held off on giving a review because I wanted to make sure the cooling worked and it does!!!! The technician showed up on time (to the minute), and within 15 minutes diagnosed the issue, which was a burned out contactor. He replaced it, checked my system for any other issues, (including the blower which was located in my attic upstairs), and was completed in less than 40 minutes. I highly recommend this company.
