Duck sausage stick. Delish!
Chris K.

Cheese and smoked meats are some of my favorites so I couldn't pass up stopping here while at Kitchen Kettle Village. There's so much besides that you could definitely fill a basket with other items like beef jerky, sausage sticks from all kinds of animals, even rubs and spices to season fresh meat for grilling, I settled for a duck sausage stick that I'm saving for the ride home!

Amazing food shop with all kinds of cheeses and sauces. Staff was nice and prices were good. I highly recommend coming here if you're in the area

Tons of great jerky flavors. Try a sample before you buy.

If you only have time to go to one shop in the Kitchen Kettle Village, go to Aged & Cured. This place has the best Pennsylvania Dutch food - cheeses, meats, sauces, pretzels, and sweets - and you can sample it all before you buy. I highly recommend the dill havarti and Amish Butter cheeses - great flavor without being too overpowering. And you can't go wrong with the smoked sweet Bologna. Buy the giant blocks of cheese and sausage links for home, and get a snack pack, jerky, and snack sticks to enjoy on the ride home. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. They greet you at the door, welcome you to sample everything, and answer questions. On Fridays and Saturdays at 11 am and 2 pm they do mozzarella pulling demonstrations.

Large variety of local meats and cheese. The store offers many free samples. Watch out for the ghost pepper hot sauce!

Mostly it's where we stayed (shoutout to Airbnb), but also it was the fun and different experiences/places we visited around the Intercourse/Lancaster area like Stoltzfus Meats. This store doubles as a place to eat at as well as a spot to get plenty of (I bet you can guess) meats to cook up in the privacy of your own home. Normally, a place like Stoltzfus might have been somewhere we may not have even ventured into, but wanting to spend as much time in that aforementioned Airbnb, we saw the great Yelp score of this spot and what it offered in the way of food to cook, and so Stoltzfus was visited with a meaty mission in hand. What does Stoltzfus offer (beyond just saying meat)? Well they really do have a massive selection of different types of steak, pork, chicken, and even some non-meat meals (pizzas, mac and cheese, etc.). Some items come frozen which would have worked well for us had we been staying longer than a couple of days, but we decided to hit up the counter and get some fresh uncooked items that we could make for dinner (and breakfast). Once being helped (which was quick as there were many people working) the staff member was friendly (albeit we had a little confusion about the amount of sausage types we could buy) and we were able to purchase a few different flavored-sausages, some macaroni salad, and some breakfast sausages to make the next morning. After grabbing these we looked at some of the prepackaged meats and found some marinated chicken strips to get as well. Once back at the Airbnb, we cooked everything up and the meats definitely were tender and flavorful. The macaroni salad was also pretty solid. Though nothing blew me away, the meal we made was great for the price we spent. Best item was probably the breakfast sausages we had the next morning. They were a maple apple flavor and dang were they delicious. Overall, Stoltzfus Meats did the trick for our little Airbnb getaway. Perhaps not a place we would have ventured to if not staying in a location that warranted some potential cooking, I am still glad we got to experience Stoltzfus and would definitely return if we did end up back in that part of the Pennsylvania state with the need to make a meal. Even if I physically don't come back, I know my mind will at least continue to return here!

There is a full wine bar as soon as you walk in that is about as prominent as the cheese selection, and there is a clear passion for pairing these two. Sampling a few cheese and wine pairings, then grabbing a bottle and a quarter pound of our favorites with a freshly baked baguette on the side makes for a really lovely evening. It can definitely get busy, but service is always friendly. They also have a little import specialty shop in the back (yes, there's a back...it's around the corner!) where you can often find some foodie goodies. This is a low-key place that is a true staple. I have sat inside in there back room which is a much more quiet vibe as well as outside which is nice but definitely is loud as it's in Fed Hill. All of the staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable. There are a lot of people there for a small place so they definitely do their best at getting everyone served quickly. The food is very reasonably priced, the DELICIOUS paninis (not pictured) are a must as well as a cheese board to start off the night. I would definitely try a new combination of flavors because they were all phenomenal, definitely get the old bay Asiago though! Both times I have been I have bought my favorite items in their store which is a great feature and so satisfying to supplement my boring weekly groceries!
