Where do I begin? I've been coming to Agave Sleep & Wellness on and off for about six years, and every single visit has been an exceptional experience. From the very first day I walked through their doors, I've always been treated with kindness, respect, and genuine care. Dr. Hamann and her entire staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. They don't just treat you like another patient--they make you feel like family. Every question I've had has been answered, every concern has been taken seriously, and they've always gone above and beyond to make sure my needs were met. That's exactly why I continue coming back. Recently, I needed a new oral appliance after getting several new dental crowns, which caused my bite to change and my jaw to shift forward. I asked Dr. Hamann if it would be possible to get the lower device that helps keep my bite aligned--the same one I originally received back in 2020. Her assistant made one phone call, and within minutes they were able to reorder my original appliance because they had kept my impressions on file all these years. That level of organization, attention to detail, and commitment to their patients truly impressed me. It's rare to find a doctor who genuinely cares about her patients the way Dr. Hamann does. She takes the time to listen, understands your concerns, and works with you to find the best solution. Her staff reflects that same level of compassion and professionalism. If you're looking for an experienced, highly respected sleep specialist who truly puts her patients first, I can't recommend Dr. Hamann and the team at Agave Sleep & Wellness enough. I was asked to leave a review, and this is my honest opinion based on years of outstanding care. I wouldn't keep coming back if they weren't consistently amazing. Thank you, Dr. Hamann and the entire Agave Sleep & Wellness team, for always making me feel welcome. Keep doing what you do--you've earned a lifelong patient. And when you visit, be sure to say hello to the wonderful staff! read more

I guess that I am the exception with MY experience with this establishment. Everyone was kind and friendly initially and I was hopeful. I had to get a tooth replaced before I could get the apparatus for sleep apnea. The delivery date was 7/6/26 and I was to see Dr. Beth Hamann. Initially & she was in the patient room but when I asked to use rest room and came back, she was gone and Elizabeth was there. She is great but I wanted to talk to the doctor. I have severe sleep apnea. This apparatus is for mild sleep apnea. I eventually didn't feel comfortable going there. When I told them that I NEVER saw the doctor at all, Wende responded with a lie saying that I saw the doctor at delivery . This is simply not true and Elizabeth knows it. It seems like they circled the wagon to cover their asses. There was no apology. They stuck together with the deceit they created. Also with Wende, you never know what version of her one will get on their visit. She means well but can be condescending in her tone of voice. read more

I am so happy my friend recommended them for me, after I got my mouth appliance I started noticing how much energy I got for sleeping good. My husband said its good to see me better and sleeping good. read more

I cannot recommend this dental practice enough! From the moment you walk in, the entire team is incredibly friendly and attentive. They have an amazing follow-up program that ensures you are doing well after your appointments. They truly treat you like family, and you can tell the staff considers themselves one big happy family as well. I originally came to them for a sleep apnea dental device, and it has been an absolute game-changer. The device has been an incredible help to me, and the care they took to fit and monitor it was top-notch. Such a warm, welcoming environment--I am so grateful to the whole team! read more

I've been going to Agave Sleep for about 4 years . I was referred to them to get an oral appliance for my sleep apnea. Beth and Wendy are always so knowledgeable, professional and friendly every time I come in. They are very informed on all the new advances in oral appliances on the market. They work well with insurance to get the lowest possible price on the appliances. They are always accommodating on getting an appointment earlier if any issues arise. Highly recommend! read more

Recently, I saw Dr. Hamann's team about my Sono-med oral sleep appliance. I wasn't having successful, quality sleep using the appliance. Dr. Hamann and her team helped to adjust it farther back so my sleep mask covered my mouth better. I've been getting better quality sleep, and longer periods of sleep. I really appreciate how you take the time and talent to serve your patients. read more

I first wandered into this office a little over three years ago when I moved to Arizona, fresh out of California and completely baffled by my own jaw. I had seen countless dentists and doctors who all assured me I didn't have TMJ--yet none of them could explain why my jaw, shoulders, and neck were staging a full-scale war against me. Then I met Dr. Beth Hamann. Within ten minutes of examining me, she not only diagnosed me with TMJ but also made me wonder if she had X-ray vision. Thorough, professional, and apparently part medical detective, Dr. Hamann is the real deal! From there, she custom-made me a retainer for nighttime and another for daytime grinding--because, apparently, my jaw thinks it has a side hustle. Over time, I weaned off the daytime retainer and now only use the night one, since, as it turns out, my most aggressive grinding happens while I'm dreaming (I can only assume I'm battling villains in my sleep). Now, I check in with Dr. Hamann once a year, and honestly, she's been an absolute lifesaver. If you're looking for someone who actually listens, gets to the root of the problem, and might secretly be a superhero, she's your person! read more

I have been incredibly fatigued the last few years. It would take me an hour to wake up in the morning and I would crash every afternoon. I knew I had mild sleep apnea but couldn't get comfortable with a cpap machine so I never did anything about it. I could never have imagined that it was causing this much of a problem. I attributed it to menopause and getting older. Well. I began using the oral appliance and WOW. I feel like a whole new person. I am up and at 'em early in the morning, go all day long and then fall asleep at a decent time. It has been life-changing. Thank you Agave for truly making a huge impact. read more

I ended up at Agave Sleep & Wellness several years ago because I was looking for an alternative to a CPAP after I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. The dental appliance that Agave had made for me, known as a mandibular advancement device, has helped get my sleep apnea under control with consistent use. It is easy and comfortable to use, which means I have been far more compliant than I would be with a CPAP. Dr. Hamman and her crew are thoroughly professional, explaining every step along the way, from the sleep study to fitting and follow up. I highly recommend this service! Anita S read more

Everyone in this office is amazing. I cannot express my appreciation enough for the quality of care they provide. I was taken seriously from the start and all of my concerns were addressed. This was my first appointment to see if I have sleep apnea, and despite the fact that I am young, Dr. Beth Hamann and the physician shadowing her took the time to listen to everything I had to say. I highly recommend! read more

I cannot recommend these folks highly enough! If you have any sleep issues, concern about the quality of your sleep, or struggle with sleep apnea, this is your answer! Dr Hamann's years of experience, expertise in this field, thoroughness, and genuine care for her patients is extraordinary. She has significantly helped my husband's severe sleep apnea in just the first few months of working with her and continues to monitor and improve his sleep. I plan to see her myself even though I don't have sleep apnea, knowing what a difference she's made in his overall wellbeing! The office staff is also excellent! They are efficient, helpful, informative, and we have seldom waited at all. Highly recommend this place! read more

I actually called in to move my annual CPAP evaluation to Agave and Wendy told me about the oral appliance. I was somewhat skeptical at first however Dr. Hamann and staff were very kind amd walked me through the process. I've gone from wearing a somewhat effective Resmed CPAP to the oral appliance with very little issue in the transition. I feel that it's more effective and I definately don't miss the CPAP clunkiness and maintenence. The oral appliance is a breeze to travel with also. I would encourage anyone reading this to call and schedule a consultation. read more

I reviewed Agave Sleep and Wellness first when I went to them to look into purchasing a dental device to treat my Obstructive Sleep Apnea in May 2018. After going to several sleep doctors who tried to scare me into getting a CPAP I had finally found people who believed my that I cannot do CPAP! Now after four years of using the dental device I can attest that I have not snored in four years. My poor husband had to learn how to sleep without me snoring in the background (which had been a comfort to him). Dr. Hamann, Wende, Elizabeth you women are a great team. I want everyone to see that there is a better option than a CPAP!! Pamela Garrett read more

I was referred to Agave Sleep and Wellness in 2020 to try and figure out if sleep apnea had a role in my high blood pressure. After an overnight sleep test, I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. I'm a sensitive and light sleeper and knew a CPAP machine was not going to be my solution to this scary health issue. I was then introduced to the ProSomnus mouth device and have had amazing sleep since. I actually just recently upgraded and got the new device called Somnomed mouth device and I couldn't be happier. I'm sleeping throughout the night and waking up well rested!! These amazing women have taken such great care of me! Dr Hamann, Elizabeth and Wende are all super gentle souls and I am blessed to have them all on my side during this journey! Thank you ladies for all your kindness and for taking such great care of me!! read more

I can't say enough good things about Agave Sleep and wellness. I recently started with a sleep, appliance for my snoring and sleep apnea and didn't really realize how much of a life changer it would be. I had to redo my sleep study without wearing my appliance after one month and I had the worst night sleep ever without my appliance. I didn't realize that I had been sleeping like that for so long And will not miss a night without my appliance. It is been an amazing life changer. The team at Agave Sleep wellness is kind, caring and very concerned about everybody's health and well-being and getting a good nights sleep. Thank you so much for changing my life. karybary read more

Having Sleep Apnea has been a difficult journey. I originally was recommended to sleep with the famous CPAP. It had a hose on it much like a vacuum and a device over the mouth/nose to make it work. It was impossible to sleep well considering I was a side and stomach sleeper. After complaining to my GP doctor, she suggested I go to Agave Sleep & Wellness to try the Avant Dental device. Having used it over a year, I recently requested a sleep test to determine if it has worked for me. Today I found up that compared to when I was on the CPAP my score had been 25 and it had gone down to 9. What a relief it is! Like the others who have reviewed Agave Sleep & Wellness, I have the utmost respect of Dr. Hamann, Elizabeth & Wendy. AND as a side note, this dental appliance certainly is a good traveler, not requiring an electric plug of any nationality. Win Win! read more

Agave has been great. Wendi, who seems to be the office manager, was amazing helping me deal with the referral process from my PCP, and she's also been great helping with the insurance part. I went to another place prior to going to Agave, and it was a night and day experience. Dr. Hamann and her entire staff are awesome and I really wish I would have gone here first! read more

Exceptional. Absolutely exceptional. After trying and failing with the CPAP, I was referred to Dr Hamann at Agave Sleep & Wellness. Did you know that up to 50% of patients prescribed a CPAP machine aren't using it 12 months later? Because I didn't and being informed of this made me feel less frustrated with myself for not being able to find relief with CPAP. Dr Hamann is amazing. She is attentive, listens and is hella funny. I also found out that my obstructive sleep apnea is anatomical, so I simply can't fix it with diet & exercise. I am trying the dental apparatus to address my obstructive sleep apnea & Dr Hamann provided me with a referral to an excellent ENT. Thank you, Dr Hamann, Elizabeth & Wendy! I appreciate you all! read more

When I tell you this place has that old school nostalgic vibe you know like back in the day when the word "great customer service" didn't exist it just was, you know when people just naturally showed kindnesses and concern and made you feel like you were being helped not Sold or you hearing some generic pre-rehearsed sales pitch this is what I've been coming across in my health and wellness Journey, well that wasn't the case here!!! Im getting a mouth appliance for sleep apnea in replace of my current CPAP The Entire Staff here are all just beautiful souls Elizabeth she did my ex rays when I tell you her demeanor is so gentle and she's very thorough with explaining everything it's like she's reading you a bedtime story Lol Okay!!! That may sound weird but this is "my experience" I enjoyed talking with her and we related to one another on a personal level. Dr Hamann was very thorough when it comes to explaining EVERYTHING just gentle in everything she does sweet, kind considerate, compassionate she gives you the feeling I'm in good hands and she's going to help me by any means necessary!! But in a honest way meaning if she couldn't help she'd tell you she couldn't, which is what she said to me in the beginning Wende she's the office manager and works at the front desk, okay I have to mention my insurance is not covering this so it's a self pay and Wende with honest intent, professionally made it work for me and my situation. Wende is so unpretentious she's like a breath of fresh air and ironically she's the one you see when you walking in the door!!! If you're in need of any services Agave provides go see them you won't be disappointed this place is like a hidden gem!!!!! read more

I have to give the highest compliments to Agave Sleep and Wellness. I had a really hard time finding someone who was really well versed in jaw issues and didn't immediately recommend invasive procedures. My very first visit I was beyond happy. Dr. Hamann did a thorough examination including checking muscle tenderness around my head and neck. She explained everything really well and gave me a thorough treatment plan and clear instructions to get relief while waiting for my appliance to come in. For the first time in literal years I can eat without my jaw clicking and I no longer need my fiance to rub my neck every night (just don't tell him that part) Even better is the office made every effort to be very affordable, tmj treatment can be very expensive and I never felt like they were pushing things I didn't need or billing insurance in a word way. Everything was 100% clear and there was never a surprise which was really refreshing. In addition to the A+ care everyone here is just so nice and very safe regarding the pandemic read more

Dr. Hamann is one of the most knowledgeable and kind sleep specialists I have ever encountered. She has changed my whole way of life and I no longer have to "attack" or dread going to sleep. As a health care provider, myself, I truly understand the education piece of OSA. I have learned so much throughout my process of getting my dental device and happily have thrown out my CPAP! I have the numbers to prove my success, improved deep sleep and tons of REM, and excellent oxygen levels during sleep. I feel so different every day, awake feeling alert and non drowsy and always ready for the day now. Wendy and the entire staff are amazing!! Don't miss the opportunity to feel better, sleep well and gain soooo much knowledge from Dr. Hamann. I can't say enough! read more

Agave was excellent in addressing my sleep issues and apnea. From the front desk through the entire process of diagnosing and successfully addressing my issues, I had the best night of sleep last night in years. My bed partner reports NO SNORING AT ALL LAST NIGHT! I woke up feeling rested and refreshed. Wow is all I can say. Dr. Hamann and her staff are amazing. The appliance I ended up being fitted with fits perfectly in my mouth, and is comfortable far beyond my expectations. It's the Mercedes of sleep appliances. So impressed. And so thankful! Highly recommend. The entire experience was seamless, helpful, and collaborative. They utilized technology I didn't even know existed for perfectly mapping my teeth and mouth. 5 Stars easy. I enthusiastically recommend Agave Sleep & Wellness. I am not able to use a c-pap machine comfortably, and I dreaded having to force myself to use that procedure for treating sleep apnea. I've been a longtime patient of Agave Dental, and at a routine checkup, my dental hygienist suggested that I see Dr. Hamman, who has specialized expertise in treating sleep apnea. Dr. Hamman promptly evaluated the situation and obtained the dental appliance that I've used very successfully for nearly 3 years. Dr. Hamman, Elizabeth, and Wende are efficient, supportive, and friendly, but still professional. I can't imagine getting better service anywhere else. read more

This is a great place that offers mouth appliances as an alternative to a CPAP device for sleep apena. Every other practice I went to insisted that I get a CPAP, which seemed like a route that I wouldn't be inclined to follow. I just want to recommend Agave Sleep and Wellness practice at 4235 N 32nd St Suite A, Phoenix, AZ 85018. I have had sleep apnea for years. When it was diagnosed 10 years ago, I decided to bypass the CPAP treatment option in favor of using an oral appliance made especially for me and used nightly. It is like a night guard or mouth piece football players wear. It has worked VERY WELL. My sleep apnea has improved greatly. When I needed a new appliance a year ago, I changed my provider to Agave Sleep and Wellness. Dr. Hamann and Elizabeth and Wende have made the process SO EASY AND ACTUALLY ENJOYABLE. They are all very professional. My new appliance fits beautifully. Their customer service is exceptional. By the way, if you have sleep apnea and would like to try getting an oral appliance, you need to see a specialist dentist. If you happen to have Medicare as your insurance, it will pay for the appliance IF YOU GO TO A PRACTICE that accepts Medicare and knows how to submit your claim. Agave Sleep and Wellness is expert at that process. I was just there yesterday and decided that I shouldn't keep this practice a secret. Most folks who have sleep apnea diagnosed just go with the CPAP because insurance covers it and they don't know that there's another choice and the CPAP providers are pretty aggressive. The sleep apnea oral appliance, even though provided by specialist dentists, is considered MEDICAL equipment and a MEDICAL issue---NOT A DENTAL ISSUE. That's why Medicare will cover it IF you go to the specialist dentist who does this. This is just for information. I get nothing personally from this except the satisfaction of knowing I recommended an exceptional business. -- read more

My dentist recommended Agave to me after sleep apnea diagnosis and with CPAP not a good solution. It's been over a year and am very happy with my dental appliance alternative. Even insurance was easy to navigate with their help! read more

My daughter and I were so pleased to have been referred to Dr. Shari Aftahi! My daughter was having clicking issues in her jaw that were causing her discomfort and limited mobility. After a thorough exam, Dr Aftahi was able to diagnose her and implement a treatment plan. Aftahi has a wonderful bedside manner which made us feel so comfortable. We would confidently refer Dr Aftahi to anyone having similar issues. Elizabeth assisted Dr Aftahi and was an absolute pleasure to work with. Wende was our initial point of contact and she was so pleasant in greeting us. She made sure we had accurate information on what our insurance covered so that we could easily and competently make our decisions right there in the office with Dr Aftahi.
