Fi was told the appliance they recommended was Not covered by insurance. If prescribed by a Physician who specializes in this area it is covered. I paid 3300.00 for the appliance . Then the appliance Kept coming Apart. The assistant, Elizabeth insisted no one has ever had this problem with that appliance. She said as quite insistent and irritated as others me. I called the company and they as told there are problems with that appliance. I had To insist on another type. Also, on Preparation for The appliance They did a scan It showed TMJ on one Side-deterioration of the joint. I did not know that that is a contraindication. Since the founder Laurel L has turned her life into one of self promotion and exclaiming her very many challenges and virtues, the company has gone to crap. Poor service, poor response times and even poorer attitudes from employees. I first contacted Valley Sleep Center on the recommendation of my PCP, back in 2018. I went in for my sleep study and found their office to be clean, quiet, and personnel were wonderful. I was given a nice room with a TV and lamp, read for a bit, then went to sleep with all the wires stuck all over me. They woke me about four hours later and said yes, I had BAD problems and they wanted to try me the rest of the night with a machine. I was fitted for a mask and slept the rest of the night. I was set up with a CPAP machine right there. I was able to take it home and set it up with no problems. They gave me instructions and extra supplies, and I was very pleased with the whole experience. For a couple of years, things were great -- well into the pandemic. Regular visits with the doctor, information, and regular supplies. Then, rather abruptly, nothing. I had to call to get any supplies replaced, and even then it was hard. They started charging me (for what I used to get covered). I couldn't get responses to emails or texts, and calls were simply useless (and also, never returned when messages left). Now I find out that this office has closed, and the next nearest one is more than ten miles away. Are there any other sleep apnea experts in the middle of town? read more

I had my Sleep study done A MONTH ago and I still don't know the results of my study. I had to reschedule my appointment due to personal reasons and the soonest they could get me in was a month away. The nurse at the facility was great. It was clean. But the 'after care' was awful. It took almost a month to get results. I've been trying to get supplies through them, and after being placed on hold multiple times, of course, after listening to their recording about how much "we care about your call," and then getting disconnected. This happened more than twice. I would never use them again. I would never recommend anyone use them. I've had sleep studies at Johns Hopkins and George Washington University in the past and never experienced even close to such poor service as at this place. read more

Dr. Usmani is only in practice for the money. I have an insomnia problem since infancy and she refused to do a complete and detailed sleep study. She said I just needed an at home study. I found out what my insurance would have paid her and it was very low. I ended up not sleeping at all and took the equipment off after 4 hours. Nothing could have given proper results. She said my number was 8. I say her number is a big fat ZERO. Stay away from here. It is not what it seems. read more

My recommendation on seeing Valley sleep center is to have them contact your insurance before anything. I paid them a lot of Money for a 15 minute useless meeting to be told they will have to contact my insurance to see if it's approved. I only got approved for a home Study which is somewhat useless and on top Of that wanted more of my money out of pocket. There are better places available than them do your research! read more

I had a sleep study done last night at the Biltmore Office. My tech was Tina. As I found out later she is usually in the Scottsdale Office. Tina was very kind and professional. We spoke while she was wiring me up. I was feeling very comfortable with her. She is a professional, phenomenal person with a great personality! Tina came into my room once to hook up O2 due to my blood saturation point becoming low. Later I found out that she came in to check on me a couple of times and adjust some stuff on me although I did not hear her. NOTE TO LAURI: I was going to call you but felt it was only right to post this on YELP. Please thank Tina for the excellent job and as I told her, I'm asking you to give her a RAISE. Dr. Usmani played a large role in ensuring the process was quick and as easy as possible. She was wonderfully supportive and very knowledgeable. Despite my lack of success with the first study, she was able to quickly schedule me a second. Furthermore, she expedited the approval for and my receiving of my CPAP machine. She was very gracious in understanding the crucial nature of my circumstances, including my late term pregnancy. The front office staff member at this location was extremely professional and helpful in scheduling appointments and ensuring that Dr. Usmani received the results and required paperwork as expeditiously as possible. Horrible service particularly Dr. Margena Staten-Branch. After I lost 40 pounds, I paid them $100 for an office visit to adjust my CPAP setting which took her 30 seconds. I had my travel machine with me at the time as well but she said to hold-off changing that one for now until we see if the change on my home machine was what I needed. Trusting person that I am I said OK, think it would be simple to adjust the 2nd machine when needed. After a week using my home machine with the new setting we felt this was now the correct setting. So I called her office to bring the travel machine by to be adjusted. Now she told the office assistant that I needed to pay for a second visit to have the 2nd machine adjusted. Very poor and classless act to try to milk a 2nd office visit from me. I ended up calling the on-line equipment provider I use and they told me over the phone how adjust mine. Absolutely terrible experience with this facility and the reception staff up front. There was a mix up on the appointment time by 10 min and walked in 14 min from scheduled appointment time. I was turned away and told to reschedule. Having to take off an entire day of work for a 20-min consult and be turned away is just poor form. read more

If you value your time, I would suggest finding somewhere else... I should have thought to look at reviews before doing anything with this place, which I did not see until I was looking to reconfirm address... I am no sleep study pro, never have had one, but I have to believe that there is better customer service out there. In short they cost me months of effort by them telling me they "lost my File"*, forgot to follow up, Forgot to schedule, could not communicate clearly, could/would not email anything after clearly stating that they would, and the cost changed every time I spoke to them - given the things above are literally the primary function of the entire office, I have lost complete faith in them, and the technical term for this is "incompetency". *I still have no idea what this means... it is 2017 and i spent 30 minutes giving information to be put into a computer, how do you lose an electronic file? They did apologize profusely, however I told them if they would like to retain my business, they could offer me some sort of value for my time... they offered me $4 off (not a joke). $4 off of a $700+ service. In my final conversation with their office manager, Mary, she told me that this was a great value and she worked really hard to get 10% off a $40/copay, and that she couldn't do anything about the sleep study cost because I haven't met my yearly deductible and me paying them more money actually benefits me by meeting my yearly deductible faster. This is insane and the exact moment that i realized exactly what type of company i was dealing with and politely ended out call. I had my sleep test done at this location and it was so weird that it was scary. The lobby was so artificial that it was like a cheap morticians office. The sleep bed was a plywood platform with old sheets. The chairs to relax in were old and looked like a thrift store reject. All of this was so horrible that it is embedded in my mind. I tried to deal with it but the return visit to select my machine was a straightforward point towards the machine they wanted to sell me vs, the machine that I thought I should have. The ordeal had all of the markings of a sham but I tried to work through the experience. It was so horrible that I have not gone back to ANY sleep company and it has been over 4 years. It is difficult to choke back tears. Patient be forewarned this company is only interested in your money. They do not attend to or listen to the patient They are just collecting money and shuffling the patient on. They do not even invest in their own business establishment. This was a very unsettling experience. I have been in need of a new CPAP for four years and still lack the confidence in the sleep Managment program. This whole experience of fakeness was too unsettling to try again. I had my initial sleep test done in Washington State and I was tested in a hospital where equipment and environment were clean Where the sleep personnel were trained and caring extensions of the whole "medical" system. I went to the sleep center for help and believed I would get it. I told the doc I could go to sleep on my back cause my airway would close and I had turn on my side before I could go to sleep. got set up for a sleep study and they said with my medicare I would pay only a one time fee of 32 dollars, but when went in for the study I was told no it is 132 dollars, the room they put me in had no sound proofing, I heard people talking and walking in the hall. I heard and alarm clock going off in another room. They gave me no water. And then when I went back for the follow up the doctor said he couldn't help me and gave the number for a psychiatrist and sent me out the door. And no scipt. for a cpap machine. I did not like my consultation. The doctor talked fast like he was making a sales pitch. I never felt cared for. I truly believe they are only out to make money. I have amazing ins and I would have had no out of pocket cost, but believed they would take full advantage of my insurance company. It was so busy, I couldn't find a parking spot and had a 40 min wait. The doctor showed me the different sleep machines on my first, which made it seem I will automatically need one when I haven't even had my sleep test yet. Do NOT go here. I saw Samantha NP. She is very patient and takes the time to understand your issues before recommending testing or treatment. She is not in and out of the room in 10 mins like other doctors I have seen. She is thorough when explaining results and treatment options. On follow up, she works with you to help you reach your goals of treatment. Overall, working with Samantha NP, was a wonderful experience. On another note, the call center can be difficult to deal with they have no idea what they are doing. You have to talk with a scheduler even to get communication to the doctor. There is no option to talk with their medical assistants. However, Julie, who is awesome as well, at Arrowhead gave me her ext to call for any concerns and she relays them to Samantha directly. read more

After nearly seven months of doing business with Valley Sleep, I have yet to receive a single, concise, clear and correct invoice. I've involved every layer of management after they tried to duplicate bill me personally for my APAP machine when my insurance had already paid. My monthly equipment invoices are inaccurate, supply orders lack detail as to what I am buying since I'm billed but never receive anything and promises to fix back invoices go unfulfilled so now I'm being charged late fees. I have never, ever paid any bills late for anything but I have NO confidence in any bill I receive from Valley Sleep. I will be giving them back my machine and filing complaints with the BBB, AZ AG and am considering filing suit to recoup what Valley Sleep has been paid since neither I nor my insurer should have to pay for me to start this whole process all over with another firm. PS: They have no online payment / merchant service despite what must be a considerable number of transactions. Totally archaic...you are expected to cut them a check or fill out a credit card form every month for equipment rental, supplies (which you may or may not receive and are not line itemed), etc. I believe their unethical billing practices are exactly why they do not have online account management with historical records, etc. Instead you get to dig out files, notes, etc every month to try to figure out what they are billing and why and to fight with them over inaccuracies. My surgeon, cardiologist, ophthalmologist, etc are nearly all independents with online resources at a fraction of the transactional volume of Valley Sleep. Go figure. read more

I had a traumatic experience here a few nights ago when I went for a sleep study. When I arrived, I was given no orientation as to what to expect. I waited over an hour on an uncomfortable chair before I was informed they'd be back in a half hour to 'hook me up'. I was not permitted to do my normal 'before bed' routine until I got naturally sleepy. Hence, when ordered to go to sleep...I didn't. The bed was very uncomfortable. I brought my own pillows and even my own blanket, but it didn't help. The pillows provided by the facility were hard and uncomfortable. The room was windowless and airless and tiny - too hot for a blanket, but too cold to go without a blanket. The place advertised their rooms were homey and like being in a nice hotel room. Obviously, these people don't spend much time in nice hotel rooms. The bathroom was a hospital bathroom. There was no place to set bedtime essentials like a bottle of water or a laptop or a book or tissues because the single bedside table was covered in equipment. The tech had no help or advice for falling asleep under such non-conducive conditions. I had them bring in a recliner because my back was in pain from the bed and I thought I'd sleep in that. The tech told me I couldn't because their camera didn't move and she had to watch me in the bed. The few times I almost, ALMOST drifted off to sleep, the tech walked in and woke me up again. I listened to my neighbors bathroom activities. When I used the bathroom there was no place to put the equipment except on the floor - yes, that's gross, I agree. I did not sleep. I can't believe any report they'd issue from that night would have any validity. I felt like a prisoner and I'd often call the tech and get no answer. My back got so bad I was afraid it would spasm and I cried several times before the night was over. I was so happy to be released in the morning and I will never ever get a test like that again. I went home and crawled into my own nice comfortable bed in the room with open windows and fresh breezes and went right to sleep. Since the experience, I'd had trouble sleeping. I find myself twitchy and reliving the experience of being stuck in that room with my back getting ready to spasm. Every time I think about the experience I want to cry. Perhaps the other Valley Sleep facilities are better. I can only relate my experience to this place and it was traumatizing. read more

Simply the worst in the Valley. Initial consultation was a complete waste of time with a male nurse who had nothing of importance to tell me but gladly billed insurance $280. After that scheduling was a nightmare. They outright lied to me about appealing to my insurance for an in-lab sleep study. When I called my insurance about its "denial" they stated Valley had never contacted them. I called Valley back and they admitted they never contacted my insurance! This caused further delay in my getting scheduled. After your sleep study it's hell trying to get the results. Then they want you to see a nurse instead of a doctor. I finally gave up and went elsewhere. It's delay after delay after delay. When I asked to speak with someone in charge, I was cut off twice! Enough said. Update 12/15. I have been working with management on this and they agreed to let me see Dr. Bruce at their Mesa location and waived my co pay for that visit. It was a night and day difference. He reviewed my study and discussed it in a very professional manner. The staff was more professional as well. I left with the confidence that my situation had finally been properly assessed, and that's what really matters. Long story short, I would never return to the Phoenix location, but the Mesa location was well worth the drive! Thank you for working with me on this! read more

You answer a 40 question test, talk to the doc for five minutes. She shows you some cartoons depicting breathing,places a stethoscope to your chest 4 time, just long enough to feel that it's cold. Says you qualify and charge you your copay. They setup an appointment and call your insurance. Then they tell you your insurance only covers in home although they told you it would be in the office. Then they want to charge you 30$ to train you on the machine for 10 min. And you have to sign a form saying that if you break the machine you had 10min training on you pay them 1600$ out of pocket. Save your money and just get some breath right strips. read more

To whom it may concern, preferably the OWNER of Valley Sleep Centers, I am a recent patient at your Glendale facility and have some things to complain about, to say the least. I was scheduled to have my sleep study done on the evening of March 1st at 845 pm check in time. I live out in the Goodyear/Buckeye region of the valley so the drive in is 45 minute and 33 miles. I left my home at 8 pm and arrived at the facility at 845. I was not told what side of the building to come to, so I came to the side I had parked on at my initial visit. I stood at the door banging loudly on it for several minutes to no avail. I then called the only number you offer your clients, which went to voice mail. As I was standing there I got a call from my husband who was wondering if the facility had gotten a hold of me, when my other line chimed in from the woman inside the building. I said "thank goodness...I've been pounding on the door to get in" when she cut me off to inform me my study was cancelled for the night due to an employee not showing up for his shift and that policy dictates she cannot handle more than two patients at a time on her own. To say I was upset was an understatement. I was left with no choice but to drive home and await a new appt time. When I did get the call, I was scheduled for the next available time of March 14th at 845. At the end of getting it scheduled I was slapped with the scolding/threat of a 200.00 cancellation fee should I not CALL IN TIME TO MAKE ANY CHANGES. Really?! Does that mean you people owe me something for cancelling on me?!! Of course not..... Called the afternoon of my study to CONFIRM my study wouldn't suffer the previous experience and was assured all was well...see you at 845. Arrived, was treated very kindly and professionally and with all the respect I had been missing in my earlier experience. Set up went fine, made myself comfortable using the power lift feature of the bed (as that is how I normally sleep at home, raised up slightly) and told my tester I normally am up late into the evening and could not be expected to just turn out the light and fall asleep. Was given the okay to watch TV with the sleep button set up to drift off with....after I had to lower the bed...which is not how I sleep...and no, I couldn't use a third pillow under my head...but go ahead and roll over to your side, flip flop all you want....but that's NOT HOW I SLEEP and I'm strapped to a wall with electrodes....(Deep sigh, see where I'm going with this?) Was then interrupted at my last awake moments to have another air hose shoved up my nostrils ALONG WITH THE MEASUREMENT ONES and told good night. Look....I am no stranger to hospital stays, wires, equipment and the other things that get in the way of a restful sleep, so as uncomfortable as all that was, I can hack it and I did. Now onto my second half of my complaint. I received a call last Friday to schedule me for a meeting with the Sleep Specialist to go over my study results. I told them It was getting to be too much for me to continue to travel on a whim, so I would appreciate having a phone consultation with the Dr to go over results BEFORE having to travel again. Was told by the "head person" she thought that could be arrange and she's call me on Monday to let me know if it was a go. Thanked her for her efforts and kindness and told her I await her call. Then the phone rang today. It was from Melissa calling to schedule me for my sleep study. MY SLEEP STUDY!!!! I told her I already did the study last weekend and that I'm awaiting a call from the Dr. to discuss findings. She told me this is a SECOND NECESSARY study to fit me for my equipment. FIT ME FOR EQUIPMENT!?! I haven't even received the courtesy of a DIAGNOSIS yet!!!! She tells me that the Dr will never see you until afterwards....and I cut her off due to the well of anger and frustration about ready to SPEW FORTH FROM ME!!! Reiterated the ENTIRE scenario to her over the phone to which I get a curt "I'm sorry, but..." I now am sitting at home wasting my day expecting a call I really have NO FAITH will come to me today. Why in the name of all common sense would I let ANY of you people touch me again?! I dare you to answer this email... read more

BEWARE. They charged me $200 to download the information off of my machine before my appointment with their sleep doctor. Are you serious? $200 to download... with no warning and no way to dispute the charge. CRIMINALS is what they are. This was also after several billing screw ups where I was quoted several different prices. After spending over $2000 for 2 sleep studies I was then informed it would cost $1500 for my machine. When I informed them that I could not afford that ( after being diagnosed with severe central sleep apnea) they somehow magically figured out I only needed to pay $238.......amazing. I have also recieved 2 calls from the very very very incompetent billing department that I owed them more money. Of course they were trying to collect something from me which I had already paid. BOTTOM LINE...........I WOULD NOT SEND MY WORST ENEMY TO THIS PLACE. And I hope that some type of government agency investigates their disgraceful billing practices. My husband had his first sleep study about a month ago. He was recommended to have a sleep study by his PCP due to snoring. The sleep study was completed. About 10 days later, my husband got a call from a female staff member, not an actual physician, who told my husband he did have sleep apnea and needed to come back in to have the sleep study repeated using a CPAP machine this time around. My husband asked the staff member: " so why didn't you just use the CPAP machine the first time around? Do you mean to tell me it's going to be another $400.00 copay?" The female responded: "oh not at all. It will only be $98.00 this time." On the night my husband arrived for sleep study #2, the male associate told him it was actually $398.00. Un-freakin-believable! The male staff member told my husband to just call back the next business day to get the issue resolved. So my husband did. With no explanation, no apology, nothing they simply treated the situation like 'oh well too bad so sad'. We are not wealthy people. Had we known we would be required to pay ANOTHER $398.00 , we would have scheduled the appointment at a later time. Instead we were lied to. The company employees told us what they needed to to lure us in, then once there, they switched things up on us like the thieves they are. I too need a sleep study, and rest assured I will NOT being going to Valley Sleep Center. Would rate them at a -5 if I could. Lying bastards! read more

Horrible Horrible Horrible experience. I should have known from my last visit 5 years ago but I figured they had to have changed in 5 years and I was right. They actually got worse. So I went in for an updated sleep study to find out what pressure I needed to be at. They said they needed to see if I had sleep apnea?? WTF They were the ones that diagnosed me with it 5 years earlier and since I gained weight I really doubt it went away. So they hooked me up to all the wires and then told me that I needed to sleep 2 hours without my mask "I can't sleep without it" I have become dependant on it and need it to breath I told them. So after about 4 hours of pure misery of 3 to 8 minute sleep intervals and waking up gasping for air they said okay now you can use a nasal mask. I have used a face mask since I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea. So when I was given a nasal mask I told them that I couldn't use it. I wasn't trying to be difficult I was just used to the mask. All I wanted was to know where I needed to be at pressure wise. They said just give it a try which I did and just like I said I was unable to sleep. I repeatedly told the lady that I can't sleep, they had to have seen me tossing and turning but still I got know where. At that point I was really getting pissed off and was just going to leave the place but then I knew I would have gotten billed for walking out. So needless to say I stayed and and the torture continued. The following morning the lady told me they were unable to get a REM reading on me and that they may need me to come in again for another night. I told her that ain't happening. All I wanted was to find out what pressure was best for me. So what was the point in all of this if they didn't even get a proper read out?? I was due for a new machine they said so I inquired about the new ASV machine and the lady kind of chuckled and said the ASV machine is too expensive and your insurance won't cover it so you are going to get one of the cheaper machines. I can't believe how rude she was when telling me that. I could go on and on about how horrible my experience was with this place. Stay away you have been warned. read more

Wish I could give this business a NEGATIVE star!! UNPROFESSIONAL and all about MONEY MONEY, MONEY!! We don't have co-pays or out of pocket up front fees with our insurance and we get billed AFTER the service. Apparently because they have been "burned" before they don't bill your insurance and want $150.00 just to "talk with someone (NOT A Physician) BEFORE your sleep study is scheduled. How about instead of Robo-calling before appointments you have an actual live person call and explain that. This was at the Chandler location and of course the unprofessional, "I could care less attitude" and WE ARE GOING to bill you $50.00 if you walk out of here and don't keep your appointment" girl at the front desk. WOW this is how you treat your prospective patients??? You have got to be kidding!! Poor, poor, poor customer service, money, money, money, lazy, lazy lazy. Valley sleep center, I can not say enough about the wonderful experience i had. I was very reluctant to make an appointment due to the terrible experience I had had with Neurodiagnostics. Where i had to play the message game, appointments so far out you loose interest. When I finally got an appointment I walked in to a dirty reception area and a sign that said if you have any complaints..My cue to leave so I did. At that time I called Valley Sleep Center. Amazingly I got a real person on the phone. She was able to make me an appointment within a week, I walked into a beautiful reception area where i was greeted with a friendly face. My appointment was with Dr. Mohan He was wonderful he took the time to talk to me and answer all my question. The following week I was scheduled for my sleep study. My room was very comfortable. Barb was my tech and she made me feel like we knew each other for years. I thought having a sleep study was going to be terrible. But thanks to a great staff and Doctor. I decided to give valley sleep center a try after years of snoring complaints from my significant other and years of hearing Ron Wolfley talk about his experience with VSC. There are 3 different departments you will have to deal with so I will discuss my experience with each. The front desk person at the Mountain View site has to be one of the most difficult people I have ever had to deal with. She is friendly enough but basically incompetent in her duties. It was a chore just to properly schedule the sleep study in the first place and then after the 2nd sleep study was completed she didn't get back to me for months. It appears that my file fell through the cracks. When she finally did get back to me I was so irritated that I didn't even bother to immediately schedule the follow up appointment. I don't want to attack anyone by name but she wouldn't have a job if I was her employer. The sleep technician who is the person you deal with on your overnight sleepover was hands down the best part of the entire experience. I don't know what they pay "Pam" but she is someone they definitely want to have around. She was very professional and was able to put me at ease. It's awkward sleeping in a strange room with wires and electrodes attached to every part of your body. There is also a microphone and camera present to record every sound and action. This was mildly unnerving but again, she was so calming and professional that I was able to semi relax. The first night I went in didn't go so well and the results were inconclusive. The second night I did it a month later was much better. After the study you will have your results discussed with the Dr. I had Dr. DeOcampo "review" my study. He was totally unprepared regarding my file. He didn't even open it and simply stated you need the cpap machine. I wanted hard statistics and numbers, especially considering I had every sensor and electrode possible monitor my sleep. This guy reminded me of a car salesman. He only wanted to bill my insurance company for a cpap. I asked for other options as I don't think I would realistically sleep with a giant headset and loud breathing apparatus for the rest of my life. He grudgingly gave me the other options while continuing to insist that I should just get the cpap machine even after I said I wouldn't use it. I actually had to insist for no machine. I left there irritated at the Dr. experience I just had. I was willing to let it all go until a week later when the cpap representative called to schedule an appointment in my home for the prescription that Dr. DeOcampo ordered. Can you believe that? After all of my insistence that I didn't want the machine he went ahead and did it anyway against my consent. the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth as it seems like they are only interested in selling machines to your insurance company above all else. Thumbs down Valley Sleep Center. And what's worse, I cant trust anything that Ron Wolfley pitches on the radio anymore. read more

Wow! What an ordeal. This company is very hard to work with.They are always trying to take more money. The sleep test at the facility is awful and if you dont gut it out for six hours you fail the test. I failed the test. So they say, 'come on back in a couple of weeks'. Well, they want to charge you again. I asked for options and they finally relented and said that I could take a take home sleep test in my own bed at a fraction of the cost. What a scam. The billing system is screwed up. They separate the test from the equipment from the accessories, so it just becomes confusing for everyone involved, including the insurance companies. I ordered accessories and they sent the wrong ones. It took me months to get it corrected and involved me going down there and fixing the problem. Do you snore? Well, the CPAP works! You will have to endure a Doctor telling you that surgery is a good option or they can do a series of test. Just give me the CPAP and go away! read more
