Might be as good as it gets - long wait for our food. Seems like there are only three options of good dining in this area. Since it's nearly impossible to mess up Mexican food, we went with agave. The food was great. Traveling with your family? Don't worry, they play extremely loud music so you don't have to suffer through talking to your loved ones. We enjoyed our dinner. The reason for the three stars is we ordered at 8:35 and our food came at 9:40. This would be forgivable if I hadn't been seasick all day and hadn't eaten a meal yet. I was losing it. Hangry. And I couldn't get anyone's attention to ask about the food!!! Also side note, they don't order tap water- but they have tap water. Really found this restaurant to be family friendly. The kids (2 & 4) could dance to the restaurants great music in front of a big TV, while remaining out of the way of staff or other customers. Food and ambiance was great. We would definitely visit again. read more

We started with appetizers which were amazing and made me excited for the rest of the meal! We ordered empanadas and street corn-- delishh Then came time for the entrees. I ordered chorizo tacos, which said it had chorizos, sweet potato, black beans, pickled jalapeño, cotija cheese, lime creme fraiche, and cilantros. Sounds bomb right?? Except they brought out the wrong taco and I ended up with some sort of pulled pork taco. No big deal.. I told them I got the wrong taco and they took my plate away and started making the correct taco. Fast forward 15 minutes later and I get the right taco, except it literally did not have the toppings it said it would. Disappointing! 1 star off. Last was dessert. We ordered the churros, and we loveee churros. However, it took over 30 minutes for the churros to come out! They apologized and said it was taking long because they handmade the churros, so we were pumped it was gonna be delicious. Then when they brought it to the table, they looked like tater tots!! Probably 1.5 inches in length, no iconic churro ridges, and there was only like 10 of them. Another star off. We ordered chips and salsa and street corn and only received the chips and waitress only came back to check on table after 45 mins and we were almost done with drinks and had to tell her that we never received the street corn... At that point the entrees came out with the street corn and most of our drinks were wrong... Food portion on the small side but it was good... The food overall is good, but nothing special and will most likely be a disappointment to people visiting from mainland U.S. The service was amazing though, the staff was very nice and accommodating, alongside being very friendly and upbeat. Took my wife here for her birthday. Drinks came out after appetizers, kids food had to be returned, drinks never refilled, plates never removed, ordered one dessert and got something else. Honestly it was a birthday so I didn't want to make a fuss... but they brought out a sparkler that ended up burning my wife's hand. Had to chase down the hostess to get ice. No one seemed to care. Brought this up to the manager (he seem too distracted to listen) and he comped the dessert. The server must have been mad because he came back and "mistakenly" added an extra zero to my bill. Now it's 11pm on Saturday and I'm looking for an urgent care for a burnt hand on a birthday on vacation. Not cool Agave.... you can do better!!! read more

Great vibe, great music. Only came for a drink and dessert on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered a tequila flight and a 'Tequiling me softly' as well as an order of churros to go. The drinks came out quickly and were great. The churros took awhile but they were absolutely delicious. The caramel sauce they came with was incredible! Came in to grab food to go. Sat at the bar and enjoyed a blackberry mule cocktail which was pretty good (: 10/10 and strong enough. I ordered vegetarian tacos, Mexican style corn, guac and salsa to go. Vegetarian tacos 10/10. Guac and salsa were pretty good! I usually like my Salsa with a spice to it but it was pretty flavorful so no complaints there! The Mexican style corn was pretty small for the pricing I'd say. Atmosphere was chill and relaxed as it was a Tuesday. Bartender was nice and attentive. Made my drink good and food didn't take too long. I'd give him props but I'm not sure his name. My ticket said "Elisabeth" but a guy helped me out more as as helped other guests. Wish I could give him his props. Teamwork works to get the job done so it's always nice to see. Super delicious Mexican food. I had the carnitas enchiladas and feel like I'm usually disappointed with them in other restaurants, but here they were spectacular. Everyone else in my party was very satisfied with their food as well, commenting on its fresh taste. The only drawback was that our waitress messed up an order with the one person in my party with a food allergy, but she corrected it right away. She was very attentive and nice otherwise. Beer selection is limited, only one on tap but it was a pretty good IPA. Rest of the drink menu was very fleshed out and tasty! Would definitely come here again. read more

We started with a young male server in which it may very well be his first day. He was totally lost. Then what may have been the meanest, rudest girl of all time jump in. We love love love this restaurant. We eat here several times while we are on island and the restaurant is always clean, the service is good, and the food is excellent. We only stopped in here for a drink before another reservation. It's right in the red hook area, close to a lot of other bars and restaurants but not on the water. We were able to find seats at the bar. The atmosphere was good, a little dimly lit, but the bar service was a little slow. I thought the froze was delicious and I could tell there was alcohol in it. I'd definitely order it again. We also ordered queso and were a little disappointed with it. It tasted really good but there was a ton of it and hardly any chips. The portion sizes were really off. Our waitress was not the friendliest and not very attentive , we tried ordering 3 drinks from their menu and they didn't have them available so we gave up on that and ordered a sprite and coke and those were super flat. Best restaurant we've been to in St. Thomas so far. I got a pork burrito and she got the chicken enchiladas, both fantastic. Our fried plantains were pretty good too, although it came with our dinner instead of before despite it being our appetizer, but not a big deal because this meant our entrees came out very quickly. The margarita pitchers are now $30 but still a better deal than getting glasses individually. It was pretty loud there was a group getting a bit rowdy. This is a great choice if you decide you want mexican food. Definitely get reservations, its packed every night and there's always a line when we drive past it. read more
