Cobb Salad $26, add Jerk Chicken for $13 extra.

If you are staying at the Ritz, chances are you will dine at Sails at least once. If you plan to, be prepared to spend a ton of money on lunch! Our party of 3 ordered a salad, and 2 orders of chicken strips and fries and the total was $74! The salad was $26, but then $13 more to add chicken. It was a good salad but it should have tasted like gold for $40. However, this is to be expected when staying at the Ritz. Mediocre food for a price that will break the bank. The servers are all super nice and the water view is great.

Sails is a typical overpriced beachside casual restaurant. During the day it functions as both a restaurant and poolside/beachside service. The food is severely overpriced (but hey what did you expect at the Ritz...$16-$22 for a pizza!) but the drinks aren't bad as you can get a decent frozen drink for $14. They can also make smoothies without alcohol if you request. At night they have live music for a couple hours and a seasonal dinner menu (which I love because the fish choice rotates depending on what they catch). Reservations recommended for Saturday night in season as they book up!

My wife and I visited the Ritz-Carlton earlier this week and were searching for a place we could grab a quick lunch. A recommendation from the concierge brought us to Sails, a covered, outdoor bar and restaurant. Although a bit pricey, we were so glad we decided to follow the recommendation. I'll start with the food because it is absolutely delicious! Since we couldn't decide between two sandwiches, we decided to split them. Joanna ordered the quinoa burger with chips while I opted for the chicken sandwich with fries. At the end of the day, we still couldn't decide which was better, and needless to say we devoured our plates. The chicken on my sandwich was juicy and full of flavor while the bacon, brie cheese, tomatoes, lettuce and mayo added a wonderful medley of savory and fresh flavors. Meanwhile, the quinoa burger was served with avocado, arugula, hummus and tomato. The patty had the perfect consistency and offered a slightly smoky flavor. The rest of the fixings on the burger likewise complemented each other perfectly. And the steak fries? Delicious! I'm already craving more. I also want to talk about the service here. Sure it's the Ritz and quality service is expected, but I particularly loved our waiter, Rashawn. He was incredibly kind to Joanna and me and really made us feel at home. The view here isn't too shabby either, just a few steps from the beach! Plus, they have large industrial fans that keep the air circulating and the restaurant cool, even though it's outdoors. I think we both agreed we'll be coming back here on a future trip. Again, the only thing that could be better about this restaurant is the prices.

Great location, best views, professional service by the pool and oceanfront. We sat at the actual bar and had amazing drinks while taking in the views.

Food was cold. Took 1.5 hours before we were served. Wait staff was ok. Kitchen has a lot to be desired.

Beautiful views. Mediocre food at best. The $29 fish tacos where basically lettuce and mayo in a week old tortilla.

We made a reservation, but honestly it didn't seem totally necessary when we went. From the moment we sat down, the staff was on top of everything and so friendly. You could tell they really care about the experience, and everything flowed perfectly without feeling rushed. For drinks, we ordered the Vessup and the Carib and both were so good. The Vessup especially stood out, the cream on top was so smooth and delicious and just made the whole drink. They brought out fresh bread to start and it was so good (always a win in my book). For dinner, we went with the lobster with potato and broccolini and it was incredible. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavors were just on point. Between the food, drinks, atmosphere, and service, this was easily one of our favorite dinners on the trip. Definitely a spot I'd recommend if you're looking for something a little nicer but still with that island feel.

Pelicans Beach Bar is dangerously good at making cocktails go in and having the fun come out of you! $5 mix drinks, $4 beers, $8 crafted frozen all day for happy hour! This little 7 seat bar at the Ritz Carlton Resort is the farthest down the beach next to the serenity pool. Shhhhhhhhh......be quiet.....yea right when happy hour is all day and your bartenders are mad cool! Not sure of why they put this next to the "library" section of the resort but this bar just opened up in November. Our bartender Alex and her side kick Ryan were awesome compliments to the beachy view of St. John and our delicious cocktails. My favorites were the Lilikoi Mango Mojito and Caribbean Fiesta (not on menu but Alex knows of how to make them). For those Patron lovers like my hubby, try the Sandy Day, he loved it! Sushi is Japanese for yummylicious! Pelicans Beach Bar expands (seating wise) during the evening to a few 4 tops for an all you can eat sushi pig out session every Wednesday from 5p-8p for $45! Thursday's is taco day from 5p-8p with unlimited rice, beans, chips and salsa! You've already tortured yourself in dieting to get into bikini ready shape, let this sushi and taco fun be your free pass to choose your love of food, over not wanting to get fat! If staying at the Ritz these two nights should be checked out. If you don't want to chillax under the stars while listening to music next to tiki torches, you can box up your grub and take it back to your room. Tacos and sushi not your thing? You can order from Coconut Cove, another restaurant on the resort and they'll deliver your food to you at this bar. If not staying at the Ritz, great bay beach, which Pelicans Beach Bar sits on is actually a public beach. There is hidden free public beach parking past the main hotel lobby port cochere and down a steep road. Pictures attached show the way. My only complaint is that the bathroom locations seem like the distance needed to get to St. John. But that's the laziness (aka selective participation) in me that gets stronger with each cocktail! Cheers!

Our server was very lackadaisical and seemed to cater to whatever table he saw first, leaving ours neglected. Additionally, they serve complimentary biscuits which are very good.
