Wow this place is tasty! It specializes in comfort food which totally hits the spot on a snowy evening in Hudson. If you ever wanted to try fried pickles, this is the place to do it. The appetizer is super good- not too salty and perfectly crispy and it comes with a side of homemade ranch. What I recommend for an entree is their specialty chimichanga. Its fatter than your pillow and stuffed with rice, beans, and meat. Then its deep fried and then covered in a spicy ranch sauce and served to you with chips and salsa. Don't plan on eating all of it, I guarantee you that you wont. read more

Agave is always a good option in Hudson. There is something for everyone. A little Mexican, burgers, salads, dinners. The pork nachos are great. I've been loving the street tacos or keto tacos. Their burgers are always delicious. Their margaritas are a little sweet for my taste (it even says this on the menu) but for $3 on the happy hour menu (before 5 everyday and all day Monday), I'm happy to drink one. It would be nice to be able to sign up for seating ahead of time with reservations or an app. Would probably go more often. read more

I've never had a bad meal here! Always good food, always good service. My last meal here I had the the peanut butter and jealous burger. It's a brilliant combo of a a PB&J and a cheeseburger. It was spectacular! I got an order of frickles with it. I probably could've died happy right then! 4 of us were at this restaurant about an hour before we got a drink. Appetizer was up quickly. 1 person had to leave before the food came up, we were here probably 3 hours. Kind of in a hurry but was very kind an didn't complain. If you're short staffed I get it. No worries. We really had to get going the one gal had her hands full I said we need to pay our bill, being funny I put my credit card in her elbow. She called me rude and was very rude to me after that. Unfortunately, I will never be dining at this place again after I have been going for years. I was there with a couple friends and we were sitting in the back corner on the main floor. We had two bugs crawl over the half wall with plants that is right by the pop machines. First bug we screamed and it was some sort of beetle. Then 10min later another crawled across and unfortunately this one looked rather similar to something you do not want to EVER see in a restaurant. When we informed the waitress of what we saw the second time she brushed it off and she said someone could have brought it in. She also didn't apologize. We were extremely disappointed in how she handled it. We next wanted to contact the owner. Well luckily as I was writing him an email, walking to our next destination we saw him. Again it was brushed off and he said "we always have a bug problem around this time of the year" again no apologies just excuses. Ok today we're in Hudson and my wife suggests this place because of its Keto menu... I think ugh... but I was wrong... nice Cheese curds though personally the blackberry ketchup did not work but I got my hot sauce so all good... my wife got the steak and I the buffalo chicken... I get the side salad and she gets sweet potato fries any way food is well presented super fresh with bold clear flavors... service is efficient and friendly. My wife and I had a Groupon for $30 at Agave, so we hopped in the car on a perfect Minnesota day to head to the neighboring state. About 40 minutes later we crossed the St. Croix and entered the smallish restaurant in downtown Hudson, WI. It looks like they have a large balcony where they cook the food and I think there is another bar up top. We sat down low in a booth along the wall and out server came by quickly and I noticed the had New Glarus Spotted Cow on tap, a 24 ouncer for $5. Nice! The menu was large with a wide variety of chicken and hamburgers, but I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. A nice standby that never fails to please. My wife hot 2 chicken breasts that came with a side salad and rice and beans. The salad came by quickly and the side ranch was really solid. I dipped some of the tortilla strips that came with her salad and it was fabulous. She gave me the last half of her salad, it was pretty good. The pork sandwich came out and it had a type of honey mustard sauce on it. The pork was juicy and succulent, my only complaint was that the roll was cold. i would have preferred if they steamed it or toasted it. The meat was awesome though. It came with a bunch of chips and a nice salsa on the side. Pretty good stuff. My wife loved her beans and rice and had a little of her chicken, which she said was pretty good. She got the Cajun style dry rub, which I got to take the rest home for dinner. Her veggies looked pretty good too. Overall, our waitress was fantastic, the prices were way too high for the non happy hour menu though, but they have a happy hour from 12-5 every day and those prices seemed reasonable. I came here for lunch with my spouse. We had some good top shelf margaritas to start off our meal. My spouse for a taco salad with shredded beef, and I got a buffalo bleu sandwich with a side of pickle fries. Food was great! I highly recommend the pickle fries. Went here for dinner on St. Patricks day. Was very busy around 6:30 as to be expected, we were told 30-45 minute wait. No problem we expected that, we left came back around 30 min. Later, were told it would be another 25-30min. Wait.... Onto the actually review. The wait room is probably the smallest area for a wait room i have ever seen, very cramped and can't hold more then 5 people, where are people supposed to wait on a busy night, outside? The bathrooms need an update 1 person at a time restroom, not good for a busy night. The food was just OK. The pork Nachos were the. highlight of the night very good and a meal within itself, i also had a burger that was drowning in BBQ sauce but still decent. The wait times for everything was excruciating. They only thing that saved this review from a lower rating was the ambiance and seating was actually really cool, i kind of wish we were seated on the top level, but thankful we did not sit buy the restrooms in the back. Went to an early dinner on a Sunday. We decided to sit on the third floor. At Bullpen area. The waitress was a bit slow but friendly. This place only has mostly hightop tables and no booths at all. I hate high tops since I'm short. I had a taco salad my husband got the street tacos. My daughter got boneless wings. The boneless wings are not breaded so different than most places. I wish the waitress would have explained this when she ordered. I was impressed by the food. Even the boneless chicken was great and kid ended up loving it. Since this seems like more of a bar type set up I am not sure it would be ideal for smaller aged kids. I can't wait to try again soon! Stopped at this place on our way to Wisconsin for a weekend getaway. This restaurant is located in a cute area in Hudson. We ordered the cheese curd and fish tacos. Both were pretty good. The batter of the cheese curds was a bit thick for my taste. It came with a blueberry jam dipping sauce which pair did pretty well with the cheese curds. We actually asked for a side of barbecue sauce for extra dipping sauce. The barbecue sauce actually tasted like the one you get at McDonald's (which I love lol). Agave kitchen will always be my number one place to eat in Hudson PERIOD! Yes there are Many amazing restaurants in Hudson But with all the specials and the happy hours and the amazing people that work there like Andrea downstairs and kevin upstairs in the bullpen and CHEF in the kitchen along with the rest of the kitchen staff, and Service staff (to name just a few.) You can't beat the trusty ruby red margarita which has been my favorite since this place has existed they recently added a keto genic friendly diet menu and I think it is the most intelligent move a restaurant these days could make because you cannot go anywhere without having to basically customize your own meal, but Agave takes the work out of that for you. you'll find all of the guests to be friendly and with many unique and tasty items like their amazing pulled pork nachos that are unlike anything you've ever had before you just have to visit. If you are in town visiting Hudson for whatever reason stop here at least to say hello or have an app or an amazing margarita!!!! Also the bullpen upstairs is the best place in town to watch any game with excellent bartenders and staff that will treat you like family. Agave also Is very big in helping the community, And communities outside of their own in times of great need. I find that to be very important. We came for lunch and were both starving (I travel w my husband so always a we). We started w fried green tomatoes, which had a perfect breading and flavor. We followed that w the chimichanga, which had a good flavor, but the sauce was an identical flavor to the hidden valley ranch bacon tomato dressing. If you like that then you will love the chimi. We also had the "street tacos" which were not street tacos by any stretch of the of the imagination. It was bland, unfilled soppy chicken, with a mound of cheese and onion....maybe street in hudson, but nowhere else. Best place in Hudson, no place comes even close. I love coming here to treat me and my family to a nice meal. Everything we have tried has been beyond delicious. The Legendary Nachos, their burgers covered in pulled pork, their street tacos, their chimichangas, all have been amazing. They are great with spices, making sure that everything is flavorful, without making it too hot or overwhelming. Just a perfect balance for your taste buds. Why this is listed as a Mexican restaurant is very puzzling since they only have a handful of Mexican offerings. I had the nachos grande while my wife ordered the lobster roll. Seriously, they have a large variety of burgers, which many are quite unique and all are very tasty with great locally sourced beef, but holy camoley, you've got to get the chimichanga. They slow roast the pork all day long, and you can smell it if you are hanging around town. It all gets wrapped up in a fresh shell, packed with goodies, deep fried, and then topped with a chipotle ranch sauce. Be prepared to only conquer half of this beast, unless you are a professional competitive eater. This is like Chipotle's bigger, stronger, smarter older brother. I've been here more times than I can count, but had lunch here this week, and was just as good as every other time. The servers are all very nice, the food is excellent (like seriously, everything is amazing). If you have a group of people, get the nachos. They are huge, and they are known for the nachos. It isn't soggy at all, as they throw it in their hurricane oven, which quickly heats everything up and melts the cheese. Make sure to get the pork, as it is incredible. read more

It never came. Food took 52 minutes to arrive. I'd ordered a burger medium, and received a burger so rare the bottom bun was soaked and reddish pink, as was the bottom layer of sweet potato fries on the plate. Decided to give it a whirl anyway. Oh. My. Goodness. We came here on a Saturday with a group of 8 for lunch before hitting some breweries. We were given a big table upstairs but a couple of dart boards which we took full advantage of. They had a happy hour til 5 or so, so my hubby and I took advantage of their happy hour specials. We had a chicken nachos, pork tacos, and buffalo wings and they were all sooo stinking good. I tried to fit in as much as possible cause it was all so delicious but the portions were large. I had the most amazing margarita which turned out to only be $3!! What?!
