If you love pickle chips this is your place. They are very tasty. It's a busy place as it's in Downtown Hudson

Step 1: order the Cheese curds (can never go wrong with these but they were great) Personally feel bad only giving this place 3/5. Definitely could be higher but when ordering I decided to go the exploring new food rout rather then sticking with what I would normally try at a taco place and overall with this dish thought "good, not great". The pickle on top of my taco was interesting and I've never seen it tried something like that so somewhat confusing taste feelings. The chicken was pretty crispy if you like that, and big pieces in a somewhat small shell. Overall, for me probably wouldn't get these again but service was great and would definitely go back to try other items on the menu! read more

Great place in downtown Hudson. Really enjoy the upstairs area which is more like a sports bar. Our family favorite is the nachos. Everything else we have tried is also great and the service is always very good. Can be busy at times but it is worth the wait. read more

We had a party of 7 last Saturday night. We got in right away. Service was very good, we received our food orders quickly, it fresh and hot. I recommend the Keto Steak tacos, the steak was tender and the portions was very generous. We also ordered steak bits, the dipping sauces were so good. Awesome happy hour Gigantic chimichangas See you tomorrow! I have been to The Agave Kitchen probably five to ten times over the past six years. For the Midwest, they do Southwestern cuisine quite well. Happy Hour is twelve to five everyday. Had the Happy Hour chimichanga today for 7 bucks. It is massive and delicious. I made a valiant effort, but I could not quite finish it. So stuffed, I did not even get to the chips and salsa that it comes with. Dining companion got two tacos for three bucks. Three dollar glasses of wine during happy hour and five dollar 24 oz taps. I can also vouch for their salads and burgers. Never been disappointed with my meal. The ambience is quite cool and unique. Three stories with a large open glass window in the front. Third floor is sports bar. First and second floors are more upscale. Very impressive looking bar on the first floor. Heard others at the bar commenting on how it is their favorite place for people watching. Met the owner when they first opened at this location. Nice guy. He hooked me up with a cigar (no charge) from a certain country in the Caribbean which I will leave unnamed. read more

In one day in Hudson, WI I had eaten brunch at a Mongolian BBQ, owned and operated by Mexicans and a Mexican-themed Restaurant, owned and operated by Caucasians. I thought to myself, "This place is backwards." We hadn't eaten in 7 hours and everyone was still a little full #FirstWorldProblems, so we decided to split appetizers and enjoy some cocktails. Let's find out how it went -- Pig Wings: tough deep fried pork shank slathered with salty buffalo sauce served with the typical blue cheese, carrots and celery. I once had pemmican at the Museum of the American Indian in DC and it tasted like a meat flavored PowerBar...this was worse. The day has finally come that pigs can fly, but please keep these grounded. Bacon-wrapped Salmon: as an inexpensive alternative to body armor, the Hudson PD should invest in interlocking pieces of whatever this was made from. What upset me was the fish was cremated and the bacon had been picked out of someone's BBQ coals yet the cook, food runner and server didn't notice. Especially since I was successfully playing a xylophone with the two skewers. Serves me right for ordering seafood 1,000 miles from the nearest ocean. Beer Brat Slyders: veal + pork sausage, caramelized onions, Swiss, and Dijon on a potato bun. I don't have anything but nice things to say about this dish but I'd expect someone to hand me it at a tailgate, not charge me 11 bucks because it's garnished with parsley and lemon. Sweet Potato Waffle Fries: crispy outside, fluffy in the middle and I dipped everything in the accompanying Greek-yogurt lime dipping sauce. Stellar dish. Once I'm seated in a restaurant, I own that area until the check is paid. So when servers invade my space and make demands, I want to know why. Apparently the staff at AK don't see it that way. Two servers swooped in and removed three chair from the table (but not from anyone else with free chairs) without explanation...what if I was expecting company? Later an audacious blondie asked my seventy-seven year old granny to move so she could rearrange some tables to accommodate another party. NO ONE MOVES MY GRANNY! Unacceptable and I let them know it. My abuelita may not move like a Jamaican track star but she sure drinks like an Irish frat-boy on St. Patrick's day. Both of us were having her combo, Johnnie Walker (light rocks) and a Beck's, while my cousin was knee deep in their tequila drinks. Later we moved to Bloody Mary's and what. a. treat. Strong, balanced flavor and garnished with an antipasto salad. There were pickles, olives, pearl onions and...Genoa salami! The bartender even came by to ask if we enjoyed our drinks. She may have looked like a character on Hudson Ink but she's behaved like professional. She saved our experience. I think the Chef is taking the "Consumption of raw or undercooked eggs, meat, poultry, seafood or shellfish may increase your risk of food borne illness" notice too seriously. I'd suggest you order everything rare and it might come out medium-well. I think it's because there's too many things coming out of one kitchen. It's a Tex-Mex gastropub sports bar and that's why they lose focus. Service is attentive but definitely less cordial than anywhere else in H-town. The bar and it's staff could compete with those in any major city...any time, any place. read more

So the good nice looking place nice bar nice atmosphere but that's where it ends. Ordered a organic aguva nectar margarita $9.75 & Gaucho steak taco dinner $20 for two tacos some House made chips from local corn and fire roasted salsa. Also got a side of rice & beans $4.00. Margarita arrived in a small rocks glass mostly ice. Tacos & side order of rice & beans showed up. Not sure what they think is chimichurri sauce but it sure wasn't what was on these steak tacos. Steak was overcooked in one and the other taco was even more well-done. Had to remind the bartender / waitress still waiting on chips & salsa that are part of the meal instead of rice & beans, thus the side order. House chips stale and tasteless fire roasted salsa thick like paste not sure what was fire roasted about it. read more

Best service and cooks in Hudson. I've had most of their burgers and apps including the supreme nachos, sliders and everything in between. Great service, impeccable cleanliness and Paul the owner is an amazing person. Tough to beat a restaurant of this caliber next to Agave. My go to restaurant! read more

Moved from MN to Hudson. First place i went was Agave. Hands down has the best food in town. Homely feeling with generous portions.

Agave is one of my favorite restaurants. I am in love with the agave Twinkie and giant pretzel. I would eat them every day if I could. As for entrees I always try to get something knew. Tacos and burgers, what else can you ask for. Even their drink specials are delicious. read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch with a coworker. We were quickly greeted by the bartender who advised us our server would be right with us. Our server wasn't far behind and she was incredibly warm and kind. She gave us the scoop about all day happy hour on Mondays, the monthly features, and the regular menu. The service was awesome, the atmosphere was welcoming, and they even had a pretty good playlist on :) the food did not disappoint. We started with some cheese curds which were lightly batters, perfectly fried, and the blackberry ketchup has a great tang to it. I had the shrimp tacos on our servers recommendation and she was right, the bacon jam sauce really elevated the tacos. It was served with endless chips and salsa. They salsa was roasted and served cold, had a bit of sweetness to it and I could have eaten at least another 5 ramekins of it. My coworker had the taco salad and gave it rave reviews. The chicken was juicy, the vegetables fresh, and he didn't leave a bit of that taco shell on the plate. Overall really impressed with the menu offerings and their commitment to sourcing locally. read more

Good food and good service. If you get a burger that comes with a sauce, get the sauce on the side. Every time I've gotten a burger it is DROWNING in sauce to where you can't even taste the burger and the bun is a little saggy. Put the sauce on the side so you can control it. read more

Went back to Agave and actually for the first time went to the BULLPEN upstairs. The host at the door is still snotty but upstairs the bartenders were friendly. I love the new drink menu and enjoyed a very nice cocktail. It was burger tuesday and the burger meat seems to have changed as I would not go here specifically for a burger again. We went tonight and it was an overall really good experience. I got a grapefruit margarita which was INCREDIBLE! My food was overall really good. The pulled pork on the burger was really chewy but once I took it off I was really pleased. Our service was good as well. We'll definitely go back. read more

This is ALWAYS our choice for date night. We love the selection of cocktails. Today we stopped in for lunch. Agave Kitchen has a few of my all time favorite meals at restaurants: NOLA fries, pulled pork sandwich, Caesar salad, nachos. The NOLA fries are hand cut fries tossed in a hot buffalo sauce served with homemade blue cheese or ranch. They are a must try! I honestly would happily eat just them for dinner. The pulled pork sandwich is so tasty and bonus, I have half to take home with me. Their serving sizes are very generous. You can tell all of their food is made with quality ingredients and I believe most everything is made in house. The Caesar salad is my favorite- grilled romaine, pico, just try it. The nachos are HUGE and have a really good ranchero type sauce on them. We can share a half order for dinner. If it wouldn't have been for the odd smell wafting around, probably could give it a 5. It smelled oddly like wet wood or doggie doo which cast a small cloud. Seat yourself sign was up. Wasn't sure after we received our water if someone would come and take our order, but never fear, she came back. I ordered the taco salad which was really good and on the happy hour menu. It was excellent. A very plentiful amount of shredded pork atop lettuce, fresh vegetables (corn, black beans, tomatoes, peppers etc). Came with a side of salsa, ranch with chipotle?. It was a very good salad. J ordered the tacos (2) which he mentioned were very fresh and filling. Came with rice and beans. They looked pretty good for soft shell tacos. We split some nola fries. Hand cut fries with buffalo wing sauce. Quite interesting concoction served with really good bleu cheese. Wasn't sure we were going to like them at first, but they were really good. Nice place. Good service. Great happy hour specials. Neither of us could believe how reasonable the prices were for all the food. Very big portions. The advertisement tables, glasses and posters in the bathroom is a bit overkill in my opinion, but oh well.. Next time I will try the Bloody Mary. Forgot the old ID. read more

Was in Hudson for work and a friend told me to hit this place for lunch. I easily found street parking and was quickly seated. I was early for lunch to get the best experience. They had great food & happy hour prices for lunch- had to pass on the drinks, but the food was amazing. I went with the pork chimi- it was huge (my pic doesn't do it justice!). I at about 1/3 of it & took the rest home on the plane with me & had it for dinner the next night. The interiors are really nice. Great atmosphere and the service was great, too.
