Despite the restaurant being mostly empty, it took a while to get our order, partly because the waitress was alone, and the manager--who barely acknowledged us and was mostly on her phone--was present. When the food finally arrived, the portions were generous. I had fried fish, though I couldn't tell if it was catfish. It came with French fries, a hush puppy tasting like fried dough, coleslaw that seemed to have sat out too long and was small in portion, and fried okra with little seasoning, tasting more of flour than cornmeal breading. This was disappointing, though it might reflect "Low Country" cooking. Overall, the restaurant seemed to emphasize branding and decor over authentic history.
